Rifle and Shotgun competitions

Hey everyone,

 

I'm picking up an AR and a shotgun in the next couple of months. I wanted to know if there were any dedicated local competitions that I can use them.

 

I know that Shongum has a rotating side match the first Saturday(?) of every month. Then there is the occasional zombie match. But are there any others in the Tri-state/PA area?

 

I'm having fun shooting IDPA and USPSA but I want more!

Topton in PA runs regular-ish rifle/shotgun/3 gun matches.

 

Old Bridge runs one a year for each (approximately, sometimes they skip a year)

 

Lots of other yearly 3gun/2gun type matches as well as dedicated rifle and shotgun matches but they tend to fill out early and need to register months in advance. For example West Point 2gun match is at the end of the month, New York State rifle Match a month after that, both are full.

Very Cool. I haven't attended an IDPA event at Old Bridge. But will def be looking forward to it now!

If you have a center fire pistol-caliber rifle you can shoot static steel or knockdown steel at Old Bridge. You can use your shotgun with #7 1/2 or #8 for knockdown steel there also.

 

There is the rare Zombie match at Old Bridge that will let you use the AR/AK type of rifles also.
