Dick's Sporting Goods in Union, 07083 sells ammo

Recommended Posts

Less than a month and they are selling ammo(sweet) they are about $1-$2 more than online but it beats waiting for the shipment.

They don't have much to choose from but it will suffice your needs, if your not picky.

They also have about 50 shotguns/rifles, but nothing too special, more for hunting than anything else.

They wanted to me to show my license and FID for ammo.

And..... YES THE WALK OF SHAME!!! Hahahaha

Last but not least the guy that showed the ammo, has sooo freakin proud that he was one of the 6 in the store that can sell or handle firearms bcoz he took a class.(but he doesn't know anything about firearms, he said)

I bought some 30-06 at the East Brunswick dicks and im pretty sure the guy handed me the locked case and I walked it up there myself. Maybe he didn't want to be bothered ?

East Brunswick and Freehold do not escort you to the cashier, at least not the dozens of time I shopped for ammo there however it's rather interesting the looks and half steps back I've experienced from other shoppers in line when they realize what's in the box.

I've either never had that happen or never noticed it. I don't see what the fuss is about.

As is my luck..I.invariably seem to be stuck behind the elderly lady returning used golf shoes without a receipt because her husband no longer plays due to his chronic gout.

Henry will probably chime-in, but I've already been told that it was a company-wide policy to do the walk with you. Some A-hole counted what was in his cart, figured-out he didn't have enough money and took a box of 9mm out of the buggy and left it in with some other stuff like apparel or shoes. Another shopper found it and returned it to the gun dept. So one wiz-bang caused this whole entire mess!

That all being said, it depends upon who's working and what you're buying. If I buy more than 1 case of 12 ga., they open-up the case and turn one of the boxes of 25 shells upside-down so that the cash register person can use the reader and total it up. Then I push the buggy directly to the register. The guys know who I am, where I shoot, what Club I belong to, etc., and since I'm not swingin' a 12 ga. on a tacitical sling under my jacket, they figure that the ammo will make it outta the store in one piece, lol! So they can sell some fishing stuff or anything else to the next guy. That's REALITY in my shoes. Handgun ammo is a different bird, since it's all recorded in the ledger. Just my observation......

Bought some 9mm at the one in woodbridge a few months ago. they put it in a clear lock box thing handed it to me and said when im done shopping around to bring that to the register. no escort. and the cashier was nice about it.. i signed up for the dicks rewards card and she said how hunters always love it cause the rewards are usable on ammo where as most coupons are not. They are a bit expensive though, only worth it when they have that buy one get one half off sale.

I go to the Woodbridge Dick's, and my issue with them is the lack of sales clerks. When you do get one he invariably has some sort of complex that makes me want to smack him upside his head with a duck decoy.

Went over there after buying my Glock 20 the other day, and waited ten minutes for someone to make an appearance in the gun department, only to walk out and take my $$ elsewhere.
