A3666: Prohibits mail order/internet/phone sales of ammunition

Recommended Posts

Honestly, this is more of an interstate commerce problem than a simple NJ statute.  The rules regarding transportation of anything, not just ammo are clearly spelled out at the federal level.

That said, the states can make their case as to why a product or material cannot be shipped to or from their state but cannot tell the rest of the country what to do.

If NJ insists on creating gun laws we don't need and then have the gall to insist other states abide by them, they  will find themselves defending their  rather large mistakes when they are taken to trial at the federal level.  If CC does not use the Veto, the ill conceived Sweeny "model for the country" will be the easiest and perhaps best target for a federal case taken from the beginning through the circuit courts and ultimately by SCOTUS.

That group is pathetic. Instead of lecturing people in a must-issue state that ranks 42nd nationwide in murder rate, why don't they go to other states and urge couples to stay together, not have children out of wedlock, take initiatives to prevent teenage pregnancy, stay off welfare, make sure their kids are doing their school work instead of hanging out on street corners, etc.

Oh, I forgot. That would involve actually fixing the problem. And it is not a problem in Maine.

Everyone knows what the problem is, and where it resides.

It's deader than shite now.

If (as we hope and the polls suggest) Christie is a shoo-in for reelection --- maybe this has gone underground for a few years. Something like periodical cicadas -- except it won't take  13 or 17 years until it resurfaces. When it resurfaces will there be a Republican or a Democrat in the NJ Governor's office?

count on 4 more years of being ok here...after Christie , unless we have a real Republican emerge...we will be screwed harder than ever to make us have "the toughest laws in the nation " again

I think we will see this problem rear it's ugly head in the next six months to 2 years. I do not think we have four years left. If we do not pick up momentum now we will be screwed very quickly.

So he's basically telling you he's planning to be a gouger? And he thinks all the LGS's will go along with it?

Like it or not, the law of supply and demand will previal.  Imagine the supply being halved or even drying up and the supply staying the same, has nothing to do with gouging.  Captialism and free market alone tells us that ammo will be beyond "expensive" to insane.

Which means more people will get into the business of selling it. The simplest solution to this are bulk buys. FFLs have done them before, and they'll do them again. The problem in need of a solution is getting good pricing and availability requires large orders. Carrying it as inventory is risky. Doing group buys/bulk orders is not. However, in the past the problem was lining up customers. With a law like this there wouldn't be nearly the issue with eihter of thsoe strategies that there is today.

It's from our own Rep. Watson-Coleman, you know the one whose kids committed armed robbery, then she authored a law so employers cannot ask about criminal background during interviews, and lately those two felons are supposedly working for the county.  Nice deal if you can get it.
