A3754: Seizure of firearms

Recommended Posts

This kind of bill is another reason why, aside from close friends, family, and people that I talk to here, I do not advertise that I am a gun owner. My kids pediatricians office handed us a form when we first started going, first question was are there firearms in the house. My wife just couldn't understand why I wrote no. This was 3.5 years ago btw.

Should've found a new pediatrician.

Should've found a new pediatrician.

Lotta doctors offices are asking that now. Even mine started that a few years ago and I was going there for 28 years.

I just had this conversation with my wife last night as she's oblivious to news and happenings going on around her especially regarding firearms. I told her that if any health professional ever asks her this or it's on a form and I am not there to not answer the question and if they make a big deal about it then that office will no longer be our primary care office.

I got the same question at my pediatrician when I started taking my son there. Doctor gave me a lecture and said that I should consider finding a a storage place at another location other than my home to store my firearms and said that kids have a way of getting into any locked vessels in the home. My wife can't open my safe even after showing her how to do it, and my son is not even 3 years old yet. So many in this state are just brainwashed with the New Jersey anti-gun mentality and can't think clearly themselves.

My siblings and I were exposed to firearms when we were 7 or 8 years old, and we have always handled firarms safely with no accidents. Gun fearmongering just makes this worse, and hiding firearms exposure to children just makes them more curious, and more likely to handle a firearm with a friend in the absence of an adult if the opportunity arises, especially the way guns are callously glorified on televison and in the movies. That is what can lead to more accidents, not hiding all exposure of firearms from your children or eliminating them from your household. The liberal mentality that we don't need firearms in our modern peaceful society breeds ignorance. Firearms education is something that all children need regardless if they exist or not in their home environment. Remember Stop, Don't Touch, Leave Area, Tell an Adult? Always point a firearm in a safe direction? Never put your finger on the trigger or load the firearm until you are ready to fire? Always check a firearm to see if it is loaded before you handle it? If kids are never taught this, how can they be expected to act responsibly if they happen into a situation where a gun is present?

Exactly. My son is almost four and all he does is talk about my guns (even though has yet to see one of mine he knows I have them), but the more I would dance around the subject, the more he would talk about it and with all the shit going in our retarded schools I was getting worried. So I talk to him constantly about how firearms are not toys and they can kill. We've even started practicing how to safely point and handle one with his water guns. Not teaching your kids young, even if you're not gun people, is how kids don't respect them and how kids get accidentally shot.

Exactly what I do and although my son is 4 if he points any toy gun at any person I throw it away he's on his 5th gun now and has kept it awhile. I tell him every time he can't point guns at people he has to learn that!

Next it will be teachers that will have this power... Wait, I heard that they are going to contract these decisions out to the IRS.

The head of homeland security has expressed her thoughts that returning soldiers are a potential terroristic threat, these laws combined with electronic medical records will make it easy to take away gun rights from vets. Imagine visiting the V.A. hosspital and being asked if youve ever been depressed, felt helpless, do you ever feel out of control? Next your labeled as having a psyhciatric condition, put on meds, who is to say post traumatic disorder doesnt disqualify you? The end game is to end gun ownership, this is just another way to do it.

So the net result is if you choose to serve our country in the armed services, it will be an automatic disqualification for gun ownership for the rest of your life when you get out. How screwed up is that? It really shows that the people making these decisions are not the ones who have ever fought for our country. What a way to thank someone for risking their life for our country.

My kids are older and we've always told them to be honest and tell the truth... However, what these government shills are doing is illegal and Unconstitutional. I tell my kids, would you be honest with a criminal that wants to kill you? No...you would not. This is none of their business and I'll simply say "no, I do not and please explain what that has to do with my health"? Then I will kindly ask him or her if they use a condom. I assume the answer will not be pleasant. However, the bottom line is how people PROTECT themselves is none of their damn business!

Remind me never to piss off any mental health professionals.

You may not even have to piss them off, they may look at you and deem you unfit because you have freckles, a tattoo, a big nose, ethnicity, sexual orientation etc.. they just want to control
