NICS checks

Recommended Posts

Was told last night by my FFL that they haven't been receiving NICS approvals on Saturdays anymore.  Said they were currently running at 14 day returns.

I be happy with 14 days. I bought two guns last week and was told 17-21 days maybe up to 24 days.

I'm a victim of both the NJSP and  FFL screwups...First submission 3/17 lost by NJSP...FFL refaxed on 4/1..the assumed it went through when in reality it didn't...Refaxed second time on 4/30    NJSP finally sent response on 5/16....what a federal case this turned out to be..

14 days for total for my check. was told 19, so i'm pretty happy it only took 14. Just about 6 months total from the time I applied for my permits til I got to bring my 1911 home. big props to Al Bodnar from Weapons and Accessories for making my transaction smooth. Now just gotta decide what to get next.

Anyone get a long gun at cabelas in Hamburg Pa recently? What's the NICs wait there? Probably worth the 2 1/2 hour drive to avoid the headache.

NICS in PA is normally 15-30 minutes.

Hey with all this wait time it really makes us appreciate and understand our 2nd amendment more than than the rest of the free states without this we wouldnt be as concerned or aware as the other states. Not saying that is good. But you cant say thats not true. From a 16 day nics check veteran.

I cant get anyone to tell me if it is lost or not. This sucks.  Now day 20. If I don't hear anything in the next few days, should I ask them to resubmit? At this rate all future long gun purchases will be in Pa.

Submitted  on 6/14/2013 @ 4:30PM, received call from FFL 6/18/2013 @ 10AM

2 business days!

FFL told me Monday 6/18 started instant checks but decided to submit Friday anyway.  Either way glad as sh*t I didn't have to wait nearly as long as some of you guys. Time to go pick up my new pistol!

NICS in PA is normally 15-30 minutes.

It took me more than 3 minutes only once - because PICS was completely down for almost 12 hours.

But my primary dealer comments that I always go right through. The only explanation is that PICS knows how awesome I am. Darn NSA.
