I picked up a s&w m&p pen, the one with the snap off cap, not twist that im pretty happy with

Just got one of these last week, and I love it! Writes great, and I had no problem getting it through TSA security at the airport.

Rotring rapid pro. Mechanical pencil beats the pen, but both are good. Koh I noor lead holders have a number of tough options as well.

Actually I've since passed the snap off cap to my wife, and gotten one of the screw off versions, still a smith and Wesson m&p. The first time I pulled the cap off of my pocket and the pen didn't come with I wanted the screw cap

That is indeed something to consider.  Or to paraphrase Sonny, "I don't want my brother coming out of that men's room with just his pen in his hand."
