+1 for Ottomanelli's Sporting Arms

He can be a twit. He's only an employee, not family. They'd fry his arse for saying something like that. Maybe you misinterpreted him. I dunno. You should have reported him though.

I'm not sure why you defend and apologize for that place so much. They clearly don't care about customers and have shown that time and time again.

I don't and haven't and even said so in the prior message. But before me breaking ties with them, I've been there long enough to know all those bananas. So over $10,000 in guns that I purchased when I was there, gave me that knowledge. Look at it this way, I stand nothing to gain, but if there is any ripping of people and truth vs bs, I'll stick up for them. I'd do that for anyone, even you. ;)

My gun was supposed to ship to GFH and since at the time they couldn't take it in because of some state renewal form that they did not have at the time, Ottomanelli's took care of it and I had to pay them $0.

They were polite and very helpful, later I went back to them and bought a nice Atlas bipod for my rifle that they had in stock.

Over the past three years I purchased my first three handguns from Ottomanelli’s: a Glock 17, Gen 4; a H&K P30L and a Sig Sauer P226 MK25, all in 9mm.  Mike O. treated me very well and installed into my Glock, aftermarket upgraded parts that I bought from them without charging me, including Trigicon HD night sights, as well as the Ultimate Pyramid Trigger System, which I really appreciated.

Yet, when I purchased my Sig Sauer P226 MK25, I also opted to buy from them the upgraded Sig Sauer Short Reset Trigger (SRT) kit.  I was still waiting for my next NJ Pistol Purchase Permit that I would be getting 2-3 weeks later but wanted to secure the gun so it would not be sold to someone else.  I paid for the gun and upgraded trigger in full, with the understanding that they would install the trigger in the coming week or so.  When I returned over 3 weeks later they still had yet to install the trigger, which irritated me since we had an understanding that the work would have been completed by then.  They apologized for their not following through with our agreement and called and asked Jimmy G., the excellent Head Trainer & Gunsmith at GFH/Woodland Park Range next door if he could do the installation immediately.  Even though it was a spur of the moment request, he agreed, and did his usual high quality work, allowing me to take home my new SS with installed trigger before the end of the day.  Result:  inconvenient SNAFU, but acceptable resolution.

Since I was a member at GFH range next door to Ottomanelli’s I enjoyed the convenience of proximity and really did not shop around to compare prices.  Everyone was very nice, but Ottomanelli’s is clearly a “mom and pop” type of retail establishment where I also overheard some of their discussions with other customers regarding NJ State Gun Law where I felt their answers were questionable.  (Point of advice:  Do not rely on ANY gun retailer to educate you on correct current NJ gun law….!)

As I expanded my shooting at various other NJ gun ranges, including RTSP, I discovered that the prices I paid at Ottomanelli’s for those first 3 handguns were approx. 15-20% higher than I would have paid at a number of other gun retailers in NJ.  As a result, I felt rather silly and chalked that up to my laziness and an impatient rush to satisfy my desire for immediate gratification with what they had in stock.  In sober hindsight I chastised myself for not at least making the effort to see if I could get a better deal.  Since then, I have diligently shopped around when in the market for a new gun.

I have subsequently purchased several more high-end handguns (9mm and .45 ACP), one very nice AR-15 rifle and one splurge for a very nice O/U shotgun, either directly from the manufacturer, or GunBroker or from RTSP's retail gun store, where as a member I get a discount, and use them as my FFL.  They have met any lower discounted prices that I have been able to find elsewhere for selected firearms.  For the guns I purchased out of state, I had them shipped to RTSP as my FFL and paid a flat $25 transfer fee. I can recommend them highly for their competitive prices, when negotiating and excellent customer service.

I believe that later this year, once Ottomanelli’s moves into its new expanded space at the ground level in the renovated/expanded GFH/Woodland Park Range, that they will have stock quantities and varieties that will be competitive with RTSP.  Hopefully, their prices will be as competitive as well.

Lol. Bought 3 firearms from there. I feel the same way, like I got ripped off. Can't blame them though, as of the moment they are a small shop &  it's my fault for not researching who has the lowest price around.
