louu 399 Posted September 22, 2014 I'm sure the 1200 people that have a NJ CCW can afford it...
GRIZ 3,369 Posted September 22, 2014 The Retired Police Officer permit has been $50 a year since it's inception about 15 years ago.
T Bill 649 Posted September 22, 2014 They say no and now it will cost you a quick 50 to say they are wrong. Typical NJ. What will this state do when it doesn't have other people's money to spend anymore? Priorities, move first, buy guns later. Get the picture?
HBecwithFn7 296 Posted September 22, 2014 Just to clarify, in re: the $50.00 fee for " http://www.nj.com/politics/index.ssf/2014/09/higher_court_fees_coming_to_new_jersey_report_says.html#incart_river permit to carry now costs $50 A denial of a permit to buy a handgun now costs $50 .. again , TO Be DENIED!!!! wtf is going on NJ.Com just corrected the story.... "Appealing" the denial of a P2P is what will cost $50.00, not the denial itself. I was wondering how the judiciary would be "collecting" that $50.00 For a moment there..... Not $50.
revenger 473 Posted September 22, 2014 My take on this is that the democrats know that right to carry is coming to NJ one way or the other and they are getting things "set up" for when it does. Don't be surprised if its a fifty dollar increase each year and don't be surprised when other gun related "fees" go up. If I remember the NYC fees were fought in court and they were found to be OK so don't think we will get any relief from the courts on the amount of the fees. Now is the time to start planning the next gubernatorial election. Since it does not matter one bit who the republican/Independent/RINO challenger is going to be it is more important for us to try to pick the least damaging democrat in the primary. Change your party affiliation to undeclared and vote in the democratic primary. The people who run these forums should organize a voting strategy now. Rumors of fulop running are popping up( I still can't believe this guy was a marine) and he most certainly needs to be stopped.
Arbelest 29 Posted September 23, 2014 No. Form SP-642, the application for a permit to carry a handgun, must be accompanied by a $20 money order. Not $50. Correct these a proposed fees to be voted on in October
dman2112 6 Posted September 23, 2014 Your nuts. CCW will never happen here
Underdog 1,593 Posted September 30, 2014 There should be a flat out fee of $100,000 to run for office for a 2nd Term and politicians, DAs, and judges, and their bodyguards, all the elite, they should have the same carry rights as the average citizen. HBecwithFn7 296 Posted September 30, 2014 There should be a flat out fee of $100,000 to run for office for a 2nd Term. I know most public officials have to be "bonded," correct? Perhaps we should up those fees...
71ragtopgoat 23 Posted October 1, 2014 Glad I got divorced a few years ago. Saved $50. And should they not raise the fees for law Liscenses for this."provide more low-income people with an attorney through Legal Services". Instead of hitting the average joe all the time. PD2K 115 Posted July 8, 2015 Marriage Equality, if it is legal in the other states it should be legal here.... I hope so, but I seriously doubt the NJ courts will equate gun CCW to gay marriage.
Pizza Bob 1,488 Posted July 8, 2015 Since somebody revived this necro-thread, I just want to add that I don't think the judiciary can just arbitrarily raise the fee for a permit to carry. 2C:58-4,d sets the fee at $20 - I believe that the fee could only be raised legislatively. Not that any of us have to worry about that. Adios, Pizza Bob
Guest Posted July 9, 2015 The $50 is better spent on my GTHOONJ (get the hell out of nj) fund
Vlad G 345 Posted July 9, 2015 TBH if they wanted to raise money they could charge $1000 for a permit to carry and actually issue them. I'd grumble but my wife and I would probably be out a couple of grand right quick.
