SIGHT-IN: 9:00 am – 10:00 am MATCHES: 10:00 am - 3:00 pm Lunch: 12:00 – 1:00

ENTRY FEES*

$30 ($10 discount to NJACC members and active, reserve, retired military with ID card)

Family rate-$50 for two benches (children, in laws, grandparents etc.) plus $5 for each meal

Full Entry Fee includes Lunch in Club House & VENISON STEW and Hot Beverages during shoot ($5.00 Lunch Only)

*Note: Price Differential for Non-Members is applicable towards Membership Dues.

FIREARMS: Repro or original BP. Curios and Relics of the Period. Original style Stocks and Sights

Winter trigger guards acceptable. Winter triggers if approved by range safety officer.

Don’t forget Hats, Gloves and Boots as well as hearing and eye protection!!!

Contests Require 10 Shots in 2 Minutes at 50 Yards(except #12,15&16)

Any Position Including Bench * Rifles must be fired from shoulder unless medically excused.(no sleds)

4. WINTER WAR Any Finnish or Russian Mosin Nagant,Suomi 31 semi auto.

5. BALKAN FRONT Any Yugoslav, Austrian, Italian, Bulgarian, Romanian or Greek WWII era bolt action rifle (post war rebuilt Yugos are OK)

UPDATE FROM THE SHOOT CHAIRMAN, STAN GURSKI:

 

As you get your calendars for 2016 be sure to pencil in the Winter Shoot on Jan 16th. New Jersey Arms Collectors Premier Vintage Rifle Event will again be held at the Cherry Ridge Range. Hot drinks and stew served in the parking lot. Overhead cover. The 100 yard range has been upgraded recently. I am allowing use of the Finnish 28/30 rifle without scope in the sniper event http://www.mosinnagant.net/finland/MosinNagant-M2830rifle-introduction.asp as the world record for winter sniping is held by Simo Hayha who used one.  https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Simo_H%C3%A4yh%C3%A4 Allentown and other gun shows exist before the event in case you want to get one. He used to put snow in his mouth so no vapor trail would give his position away. This is not a requirement for this event.

ANOTHER UPDATE FROM THE SHOOT CHAIRMAN ON DEC. 31:

 

I have received a request from the owner of this rare rifle to compete in the Scandinavian Bolt event. If he wins I will have a special trophy made for him and give out the regular trophy to whoever has the highest score with a "bolt' gun. If you have a rare item that you would like to use and it doesn't fit a 'Niche' in the categories I have set up feel free to contact me for special arrangements. We design these shoots for safe fun and can handle up to almost 50 competitors.Besides it makes for a gun show on the line

Three days until the Match. Update from the Shoot Director, Stan Gurski:

 

"Contrary to a published report there is no "rain date" for this event. There is a "snow date" if the range officials decide that there is  not sufficient viability for a safe shoot or the roads and parking lot have not been plowed. Cold weather is not an excuse. This is a Winter Shoot. We will have hot venison stew in the parking lot. The ratio of venison to beef is determined by the hunting prowess of the members of the Directors Board. We will have coffee, tea, hot chocolate and hot cider. Lunch will be served in the clubhouse which is heated and has indoor bathrooms. If you are a Cherry Ridge member -please bring your target frame as we only have 20 "loaners'. Prior to the ammo shortage we used to get over 40 participants and hope to do the same this year. If you are using black powder please try to get a bench on the left side of the range. The smoking section. This is a great opportunity to cure cabin fever and the post Christmas blahs. A chance to network with fellow enthusiasts in structured safe fun..."

I highly recommend this event. You'll meet fun people and shoot at one of New Jersey's premier outdoor shooting venues. Bring all the old rifles you have and blast away. 

 

It was so cold last year that the "hot venison stew" was reduced to mere "venison stew." Or "venison." There's also lunch in the clubhouse which, by guy-club standards, was decent. 

 

I will not attend on Sunday because of my father's 90th birthday party. Or should I just blow that off? After all next year he'll only be 91.

It is indeed a lot of fun and great way to spend a Saturday. I think the weather forecast is chance of showers on Saturday morning, but looking a lot warmer than last year. Plus benches at Cherry Ridge are covered so a little rain is not a problem.
