Thinking about buying a new knife

I'm in need of a good every day carry knife. My buddy has a zero tolerance ranger that I really like. Does anyone recommend a good shop to go to to look at high quality blades? Also, does anyone recommend a similar knife made by another reputable company?

howell gunworks has a nice case with some zero tolerance, benchmade, and another brand i cant remembers they are in howell, not sure where you are at.

Do you have an idea what you want? Size, handle material, blade style, and price range? I've got pretty good knife experience with spyderco, zt, emerson and benchmade. My 2 current favorites being a zt 0562cf and an emerson sheepdog rangemaster. I have a ton of lightly used knives you can fondle if you'd like

Two favorites ZT 350 and Benchmade 940. South jersey has a pretty good selection at just knives 101 in williamstown. Lots of ZT and Benchmades as well as some others. Maybe 100 knives on display?

My personal favorites are knives you don't mind beating the crap out of. When a knife costs $100 or more, I get reluctant to abuse them, so if I don't carry just my leatherman, I might have a $30-$50 knife on me. Turns out a LOT of knives in that price range will do a lot more then most people use them for, which is usually opening boxes and peeling oranges

Vlad, I put them to real hard use.....including pruning tomatoes in the summer and cutting string to hold them up! I agree cheaper knives will do any job I need the 940 and 350 nust feel so damn good in hand. Occasionally there's a real stubborn branch and the heft of the 350 really helps to cut through it.

Yea no sense using a $20 knife when $200 knife will do the same job but ya know... better. That's knife knut logic

i have the zt301swcf which is similar, really love the knife.  I've been carrying that or my zt0560 hinderer when i don't want an assisted knife.

Is your 560 similar in size and weight? The 350 looks the same and has similar specs as the 301, but it's much cheaper. Does anyone know the difference in these two knives? Also, is the 300 similar?

I believe the 350 is the smaller model. I like the frame lock 05xx series but that's just me
