British Empire Firearms Contest on April 30 at Shongum, Public Invited

Recommended Posts

“The sun never sets on the British Empire” &  (Every subject) “may retain weapons necessary for the defense of home and person”

Once indisputable truths, the sun has set on both these concepts in Great Britain. As a result of current British Law, many of the firearms once held in British collections have found new homes in “The Land of the Free.”   Americans now own them.

In Memory of British rights won and lost and as a tribute to Our Second Amendment,

The Shongum Sportsmen's Association

Invites the new owners of these weapons to compete in a marksmanship contest using

The Shoot Director has now stated that "Due to interest shown I will make sure that the Waterloo event is held at 12:30  with the range cleared of all other events. We will fire at 25 yards at police silhouette targets. To add flavor to the event I have opened it up to smoothbore muskets other than just the Brown Bess (Charleyvilles as an example). Here is music to listen to as you go into your gun safe and find those queens that have been gathering dust for too long. hope to see you on the 30th. Pencil in the date and spend the next  90 days in preparation." https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eVzBcIXJXTo

UPDATE FROM STAN: Due to interest in bringing out vintage 7mm Mauser rifles for some event I have set up a sub set in the Boer War event. I will give out a trophy to the highest score with a British rifle. If a 7mm Mauser 92/95 out shoots it i will give that person a trophy also. If more than 3 Mausers enter i will give out a trophy to the best score with a Mauser. Also, the Crimea event is 8 minutes, not 2 as in the first brochure for the match.

Lenin, Stalin, Mao and Kim II Sung are all gone. Castro is on his way out. The Cold War is over and former Communist Block countries are moving from Marx to MasterCard. Many Combloc weapons has found their way into the free world as captured trophies while others have been shipped here, as those once enslaved by Communism have that Capitalism can be rewarding.

    • That bridge collapse looked scarier than many CGI versions I have seen in disaster movies.
    • Yeah, still MUCH better whatever the regular price is ($15 a pound??). Thanks Joe Biden....
    • I've watched a lot of "Mighty Ships" series on TV, as well as cruise ship series. It seems prevalent for large ships to have GPS tracking, and possibly guidance. So the path of this ship should be on record somewhere. And one critical fact would be whether or not as the ship approached the bridge it followed the correct path in the harbor channel. The conspiracy aspect would ask was  one of the electronic guidance/navigation systems hacked to put it on a collision course? I'm not anxious to find a terrorist attack. But if you'd asked me on September 10, 2001 what were the odds of four hijacked aircraft being successfully flown by amateurs into three iconic American structures... I will say there's not a doubt in my mind there are nasty people that crossed the border to cause trouble. I just can't be certain how, and how much.
