New FFL in Forked River

Recommended Posts

You can apply for your FFL it won't be issued till you have your letter fom Zoning Getting Nervous ?

NO - there are a set of steps that must be followed to apply for an FFL

1st - get zoning approval

2nd - Apply for (and be granted) NJ State retail Lic - The NJSP will not even entertain this application

without zoning approval (this includes a copy of your zoning permit + letter stating the Twp

will allow the sale of firearms at that location).

You could send in your ATF application at the same time as your NJ State application but it will just

sit on the ATF agents desk until they get notification of the Retail lic approval.

3rd - Once the above is sent to NJSP and they issue the NJ State retail lic, THEN the application process

begins for the FFL through the ATF

He has applied for his FFL and his appointment with the Zoning board is tomorrow so you can apply before you get Zoning my Son in Law did the same thing in Jackson man your really going out of your way to make sure people know they don't have an FFL nice way to repay a guy that refers everyone that comes in and asks about buying guns to you

First off - He & I cross promote and I refer all my customers who are looking for ammo to his store,

and hand out his business cards daily. Bill is a very nice guy!

I have no reason to "go out of my way to make people know he doesn't have an FFL" because as soon

as he has his FFL he will be using it to build his business - That is a good thing!

Let me be Really Clear - I simply replied to your statement about applying for FFL prior to zoning

I have no axe to grind with Bill and I wish him well in his endeavor.

Post #10 simply shows the process of obtaining an FFL in NJ.

I was only trying to explain the application process, nothing else............

This thread started out with the statement he's getting ready to open.  Your first post  states he has no FFL your second post states he has no FFL your fourth post is basicly telling me i'm wrong about him applying for his FFL because of the steps YOU say you have to follow to apply for an FFL. Maybe I'm crazzy but it seems to me you have an agenda. I can't see the harm in applying early for Your FFL in anticipation of getting your Zoning letter and your State Retail License. My information came from Bill himself. And you are correct about one thing he is a very nice guy . I hope he gets approval today from the Zoning Board and eventually his FFL then lets see how many of his business cards you hand out daily then. Have a nice day :rtfm:

The only one here with an "Agenda' appears to be you!

So let's review YOUR last post, shall we?

"This thread started out with the statement he's getting ready to open"

Wrong! The OP stated there was a new FFL in Forked River getting ready to open, but in actuality

he is already open - just that he is selling ammo and even with a zoning approval it takes approx. a

year +/- to go through the FFL approval process so he isn't getting ready to open as an FFL just yet.

Yes, he is open to sell ammo and whatever, but if someone were to read the post as it was and made

a trip down to look at guns, there wouldn't be any to look at.

My 1st post says he doesn't have an FFL and HE DOESN"T (yet)

MY 2nd post says he doesn't have an FFL and that one was after I called Bill and spoke directly to him about it

My 4th post telling you you are wrong about the process is EXACTLY correct - you ARE wrong, and if you think

I said that because I have an agenda - then i guess you are crazy (your words, not mine).

Again - this post has dragged out because of your insistance that you know the FFL process, you know what Bill has

done and You don't see any harm in placing an FFL application before zoning approval, and for the last time I will tell

you that the State (NJ) will not even entertain the application w/o BOTH the Zoning lic & the letter from the zoning officer

that MUST be submitted with the State application AND the State application MUSt be entered and approved before the

Feds will review the ATF application - period!

ALL this simply because YOU didn't like the fact that I said Bill doesn't have an FFL (which he doesn't) and YOU want to make

it an issue - not me ! I have no issue with Bill or any other dealer in / around my area.

I get along pretty well with the owners of Shooters, Howell Gun Work, Guns & roses, Monmouth Arms, Legend Firearms, TJ's (now

Garden State) ect. so why would I have a reason to take issue with Bill?

The answer is I DON"T - you are just a trouble maker  -plain & simple!

I think Biele Jewelers should be made aware their bias is showing. I plan on letting them know I will never be a customer due to their position on the matter. By their own logic, they create a public safety hazard by creating an environment likely to be the target of a robbery!

Looks like Jack was right this guy wasn't getting his FFL quickly still jammed up in zoning

https://laceyreporter.com/small-business-owner-battling-town-hall-right-sell-guns/

I wasn't saying it would be a long ordeal because of the zoning; actually i thought the

zoning board would approve it w/o any issues. I was trying to explain that the process

takes time once you actually get the zoning approval.

I think it's a shame what the town is doing, but hopefully it will be cleared up quickly............
