Any non Century made AK is available in NJ?

Hi,

 

It looks like C39v2 and RAS AK is only available to buy in NJ these days, do you know any store or dealer having something better than this? Ideally I am looking for Arsenal or even N-PAP etc.

Thanks but after replacing pretty much all inside of my C39v2 I am very sceptical about Century made AK's. They should go away of soft metal issues first. I installed Polish Radom bolt and carrier and Tapco trigger and now it is OK but not what I like to do anyway.

Atlantic will ship to NJ - when ordering, you just have to mention that your FFL will convert the rifle in order to comply with NJ law. The only issue is that they will not ship a 30 round mag to NJ

Atlantic will def ship to NJ. Go look at the FFL list they built on the website. Lots of dealers in NJ. You must have misheard them

They shipped three rifles for me. They won't include the mag and verify FFL will perform the compliance work. Great company to deal with

Just got my Arsenal slr104 from Bob, excellent buy! He did all required NJ pinning and blocking and I got mag with limiter as well. Thanks for suggestion, highly recommended gunsmith!

It is actually 1 to 1 same as Russian made AK74-M, difference is only it is Bulgarian vs Russian.

If you're into optics I highly recommend RS regulate's side rail mounts. I use the newer forward mount with a PA micro and it allows a lower 1/3 cowitness

I like this mount too, but I like red dots like Mepro, Eotec or Aimpoint. Also I would like to have space for the optional magnifier.

If you want space for a magnifier and don't mind a forward mounted RD scope, then consider installing Ultimak M1B rail (http://ultimak.com/M1-b.htm) and a Primary Arms Advanced Micro Red Dot sight (http://www.primaryarms.com/primary-arms-advanced-micro-dot-with-push-buttons-and-up-to-50k-hour-battery-life/p/kt-md-ads/). This set up will give you plenty of room for a magnifier. I've used this set up on a couple of my guns and it works pretty well

If you need more 5.45 magazines, and don't want to be limited to Tapco, then order some Bulgarian 30 rounders from SGAmmo (http://www.sgammo.com/product/545x39-ammo/russian-ak-74-545x39-caliber-30-round-mags-sale-plum-polymer-tula-mfg-very-good-)

 

When you check out, have the magazines shipped directly from SGAmmo to Nick at Bad Element (he's in Utah) so that he can make them NJ compliant for you. He'll do the work and and then mail them to you via USPS Priority Mail. Nick will give you the correct address to ship to when you contact him.

 

You can have him cut the 30 rounders down to 15 round Tanker style mags or just have him block them to 15 rounds (you could also have him cut them down to a traditional 20 round Tanker style mag and then block them to 15).

 

Nick made some 15 round Tanker mags out of the ones that I linked to above and they have worked perfectly. I think that I paid around $20 each for the cut-down service (on top of the original purchase price). It's gets a bit pricey for these mags but I think that it's a "buy once, cry once" situation since the Bulgarian mags seem to be constructed much sturdier than the Tapco mags.

Where is this factory info is?

All Bulgarian Arsenal rifles are made in the Circle 10 arsenal (in Sofia I believe). The Russian Saigas that Arsenal/KVAR sells are imported into the US as sporting rifles and then converted to the SGL31 at their workshop in Las Vegas (or at least they were before the import ban).
