Is there a range closer to Central Jersey where I can go shoot with out having a membership?

I don't know of any ranges in CJ that you don't need a membership for, you can shoot at some of the WMAs if you have a firearms hunting license but you are limited to shotgun and .22 rifle I believe.

The closest to a "no membership" range is Range 14 at Ft. Dix, while they do have a membership fee it is only $65 a year or so, and then $4 per hour to shoot.  When you go the first time you just sign up, pay and shoot, only takes a couple of minutes.

I am in Edison NJ, I went to Guns for hire in in Woodland Park.

Shot 200 rounds, lots of work to do! 3-5 inch groups at 15 yards.

Nice and clean place! Nappen was on their radio show as well as some other guy.

Would love to go somewhere closer.

TTC in Flemington is probably the closest.

If you want a private range, there's OBRPC in Old Bridge and SCFGPA in Bridgewater (membership is currently closed)

My schedule's pretty crazy but I could guest you in to SCFGPA if the timing works out.

^^Enjoy it!  I'm going there tomorrow to drool and take something home - he has too many options!!

I also am looking at G19 or PPQ - Also want to check out the Sig P320, I don't really want it in 9mm but if I can get the Compact 45 version that may be my next .45ACP

If you want to try it out before you buy, let me know. You can shoot my g19 and ppq, it will be easier to make a decision.

He has a sig p320 compact, but it is a 9mm. I'm. Sure he can order you what you want.

I was thinking of getting a .45 sig or ppq, but I changed my mind.

Cost of 9mm ammo better then .45, not only that, 9mm is more then capable of getting the job done with out aggravating my wrist.

You're absolutely right - no worries I already own a G26 and love my Glock so I know I love the 19. PPQ I held in a different store last week and fell in love with the trigger and ergonomic grip.

I wouldn't mind a 320 in 9 or 45 so I will check it out but it's prob my 3rd choice. If the one he had in stock had night sights id consider it more.

You're not kidding about the cost of ammo being better with 9 and it's a very capable question. My 1911 sits in the case more often than not and I don't buy ammo in bulk for it because it's my only pistol in that caliber, so I thought if I bought a "friend" down the line for it that it would justify buying 45 by the case.

But definitely buying a 9mm from Steve tomorrow!
