30-day purchase rule - handguns only, right?

Just to be clear, the 30-day rule between purchases is for handguns only, right? And that purchase would have no effect on buying a long gun?

 

So if I legally used one of my handgun P2Ps yesterday, I could legally buy a long gun today and tomorrow and every day between now and doomsday and I'd be legal?  I just want to make sure the rule isn't 30 days between "any" gun purchases.

Cheaper to buy the 7 long guns once a week so you only need to pay once for background check. ;)

I hear ya. I was after 2, one had to be ordered. I waited for both to be in before picking them up and doing the nics check. Only had to waste time filling it out once, also, more time saved.

Place made me fill it out twice anyway, once on a touch screen, then again on paper. Sheesh!

Thanks. I've been a lifelong handgunner. The P2Ps are a PITA, but funds are more limiting. After a hiatus, I got back to shooting and damn if my eyes didn't get old. Really frustrated picking up the sights with my eyeglasses (with or without progressive lenses). Put an an order in for a precision rifle figuring I may have better luck with a scoped long gun. Just in it for some fun.

      Model 1891 Argentine Mauser 7.65 x 53 with bayonet. Not an exact match but fits pretty good. This fine weapon is an engineering marvel well over 100 years old. Ramp sight to 900 yards for harassing fire to prevent free movement in the enemy's camp. Steel is in pretty good condition. All threads have been lubricated and work fine. Crack in upper handguard & the stock was secured with 2 screws. I have shot this many times and he is a beast. If your'e looking for a shooter, Boyd's has replacement stocks and you can take your spot on the line with fine German craftsmanship.
      Barrel has all the right stamps and marks according to several articles.
      I had this gun for 35 years and time for a new home. I used to display it in my office with the bayonet but it looked way too scary.
      22 boxes (440 rounds) of new ammo included. They go for $40 per box now! 
      Rifle, bayonet (with metal sheath) & ammo $450 or trade for 12g target ammo/silver. I can bring it to Central Jersey Rifle Pistol Club for inspection.

      Selling my Troy A4 “Other” Firearm 5.56(.223) with Blast Shield (faux suppressor) and BA Hanson profile 11.3” precision barrel with Silencer Co ASR muzzle brake.
      Had gunsmith remove pin and welded muzzle brake on stock 10.5” inch barrel. Upgraded to BA 11.3” performance barrel bringing OAL to 26.8 inches without pin and welded muzzle device. ASR threaded Silco brake added with 6” Blast Shield. Trigger/Feed Ramp polish job for smoother take up and crisp reset(for a Mil-Spec trigger). Only 40 rounds have been fired for testing and proper initial barrel break in using Modern Spartan Systems accuracy oil between shot cycles.

      What training is acceptable?  Instructions from Monroe Twp, NJ merely say "Written qualification must be within six (6) months of application and include Instructors Name"... I think this is really a bogus requirement.  I think NJ can reject applicants by saying the training is insufficient.  The qualifyin schools, such as www.shootingclasses.com ... seem to have a variety of courses.  In summary, how do we know exactly what school and cert would qualify for a CCW permit?  Thanks

      Does anyone know if I can now apply for concealed carry in NJ?  Very confusing.  The form, "State of NJ - APPLICATION FOR PERMIT TO CARRY A HANDGUN..." appears to not have been updated.  As an illustrative example, there's no mention about weapons training.  And the form is dated "03/15."  So how do I apply to carry a weapon post-Supreme Court ruling?  And has anyone in NJ applied and been approved under the new Supreme Court ruling?  Thanks
