What do you guys do for gas checks?

 

Old supply? New supply? If so, where? Home brew?

 

I need some 30 cals for my M1. EBay has them cheap.

I need some 30 cals for my M1. EBay has them cheap.

Have you tried coated lead? Might be able to forgo the gas check. Otherwise there's a healthy supply of them on cast boolits.

If eBay has them cheap, you are set.

If velocity is under about 1800 fps, you shouldn't need a gas check.

I hear good and bad about making gas checks from Al cans.
