NEVADA — Legislation that went into effect July 1 means those with concealed carry weapon permits from Utah can now carry a concealed weapon in Nevada.

According to a post from the Mesquite Police Department, the state of Nevada will honor CCW permits from Utah as long as the permit holder is 21 years of age or older. The rule applies to visitors to the state as well as residents.

Those who have CCW permits from other states and who live in Nevada must apply for a permit from Nevada, and the post from Mesquite PD states a person with an out of state CCW has 60 days after becoming a resident to obtain that permit.

Included in the post is a list of several states that Nevada will now recognize CCW permits from. That list and other information is also available via the Nevada Department of Public Safety’s website.

Great news, now all of us Vegas visitors can feel safe LOL

Might want to double check that. I never looked into it since my permits weren't good in NV when I was there, but was once told that the city limits of Las Vegas have an additional requirement. I forget, but it might be as simple as notifying the city pd. Maybe it was bull, I don't know.

Casino carry

It is legal to carry inside a casino, on the Las Vegas Strip, or at the Fremont Street Experience. Most casinos will ask you to leave or disarm if they observe you carrying firearms, but it is not a crime unless you refuse to leave or comply (only trespassing).

    • In 50 years of living in NJ I've never experienced any attempt to inspect the interior of the home, and only one definite inspection of the exterior for an announced reassessment of all properties and that was a drive by. About 9 years of that was living in an apartment, but still, uncommon. Every place I lived had either a finished attic, basement, or both. But they were also included in the habitable square footage on the taxes when we got there.
    • 27.00 and change in tolls to drive down the shore from Rutherford,  47.00 in tolls to go out to Long island to visit dying relatives. Now I read they are going to raise the fees in the DMV. Murphy lied just to get elected when he said that seniors will get a significant tax break with his StayNJ" program to stop us from leaving.   Keep voting for democrats...this is what you get.  Tax and spend is all they know.  Never cut anything.  This state sucks.
    • I get the added benefit that since I have a TSP rather than a true 401(k) they tax my retirement too. Yaaaay!
