ChrisWoakes 0 Posted July 26, 2017 Quite a lot of gun safes to choose from. I personally like Stack on but am inclined slightly towards the biometric locks because of ease of access. I dont want dacoits to chop off my fingers though :D. So its better to stick to stack on guns safe. One cool thing I learned. The heavier the gun safe is more will be the quality of the steel used in it.
Screwball 483 Posted July 26, 2017 If I remember correctly, a chopped off finger won't work with those locks. Needs to be a live finger.
peacewalker 9 Posted August 21, 2017 Anyone living in an apartment have a good recommendation for a safe to hold ~2 long guns? (Shotgun and AR15) I don't have any kids myself nor do I envision i'll host any kids...(at least for another 3-5 years) but would like to secure my long-guns better than just the cable lock hidden in a closet.. Already have a smaller bedside safe for my handguns that is my primary go-to for HD. The problem is, I am about to move apartments in the next few months, and realistically will probably move apartments again in the next couple of years. So weight and having to potentially deal with flights of stairs is a big issue for me. I was thinking possibly the Fastbox 47 (when stored vertically could fit 2 guns) and not too heavy.. https://www.secureitgunstorage.com/product/hidden-gun-safe-model-47/
Krdshrk 3,877 Posted August 21, 2017 I have a stack on 8 gun cabinet - had to be assembled, but it doesn't take up too much room and was easy to move. It's not a safe safe, but decent enough to lock stuff away. I moved it down 2 1/2 flights of stairs just fine (really just 2nd floor but it's a super high up 2nd fl). I'm now sure you've seen it.
High Exposure 5,661 Posted August 23, 2017 (edited) Hornady makes an AR locker that would work - it checks all your boxes. https://www.hornady.com/security/rapid-safes/ar-gunlocker Every now and then you can find one of the Barska standup safes cheap as well. ETA: Thinking about it again, your best bet may be a Pelican or Storm case with 4 keyed alike padlocks and a locking door handle on the closet door. The case will serve you double duty as a safe in the apartment and a way to transport. Edited August 23, 2017 by High Exposure
