Donobieus 15 Posted September 15, 2016 So a friend at work went down to SP Police and asked for the pistol permit application. He was told that they no longer just "give out" the application. He had to request the form and come back. Anyone ever heard of this? Sounds awfully shady to me.
Hairless_Ape 76 Posted September 16, 2016 I would say tell him to contact the ANJRPC Permitting StrikeForce, but that seems to be a waste of time. I've sent them half a dozen emails the last 3 months about Gloucester Township's illegal form, but have yet to receive a single response.
Bully 749 Posted September 16, 2016 Join NJ2AS and tell them about it. They seem a bit more aggressive about keeping the towns in check.
gleninjersey 2,134 Posted September 16, 2016 You can download all the forms you need. I'm sure there are still many departments still put up "road blocks" to discourage applicants. Few years ago I was a referral for a friend applying for his FID and permit. His town required the 2 personal referrals to come in to be interviewed / interrogated. Completely illegal. I hear they've changed that "requirement". Here's a link to the Spring Lake PD website with all the forms: http://www.springlakepolice.org/firearms-permits/ Good luck. Budasac 13 Posted September 16, 2016 You can download the forms online. I have mine all filled out and saved on my computer so I can just print out a set when ever I need to apply for a new batch.
Donobieus 15 Posted September 16, 2016 UPDATE....My friend just got a call from his son. An officer stopped to drop off the application. He apologized and explained that the girl at the station didn't know where the forms were and had no one at the time to ask. All well that ends well I guess..Thanks for the replies guys. Donobieus 15 Posted September 19, 2016 Agreed. It's just that my friend is a little older and not very Internet savvy. When I offered to txt him the link to the forms he politely declined. Lol
