S&W E Series 1911 Tactical or Sig Tacops 1911

Recommended Posts

Both are great 1911s. The only downside i see to the sig tacops is if you want to run regular holsters. The sig, unless you go with the traditional version, has its own style of holsters due to the shape of the "sig style" slide.

I have the S&W and I like it a lot. I haven't shot the Sig or know too much about it.

Both have an external extractor which turns off some purists.

I did find the ambi safety on mine to be too wide and inhibited my thumb reaching the Wilson Combat extended slide catch I fitted. Because of that I also installed a Wilson Combat safety which matches the width of the slide catch and works very well. I also added the most aggressive VZ grips and a Dawson ICE magwell.

It also got a bit of a write up here https://m.facebook.com/groups/75002404412?view=permalink&id=10154561207329413

I have a Sig GSR I bought about 6-7 years ago that I shoot better right out of the box than my Colt Gold Cup Trophy. I can't imagine you would have any complaints about either one, except that the S&W you are talking about is more "traditional style 1911" than the Sig you're talking about. If you could hold them both that would be ideal. I think you're good either way.
