Factory threaded bull barrels for 10/22

Recommended Posts

EDIT: I didn't mention clearlythat I'm talking about the takedown model

So ruger has their fancy new tactical model with threaded bull barrel. Do you guys think they would ever offer that barrel for sale as a standalone product? There are a few on the market already but they are $250-350. If they could do it for under $250 it would be amazing and still cheaper to upgrade my existing takedown for what I paid for it.

Not for take down model but good, and I mean 1/2" at 50yd easy, barrels can be had threaded and blued for about $125

Yea I paid like $175 for my e.r.shaw match helical fluted barrel. If they made that in a takedown I would just get that to match. 4 inch groups at 100 are the best I could do with the stock resting on an ammo can. I am not a precision shooter

Got that right. I have the new Takedown Lite and yesterdays breeze had me all over the horizontal line.

Question in general - maybe I should have changed the topic.

Ruger 10/22 upgrades:

Threaded barrels - Is it legal to buy a Kidd or Tactical Solutions threaded bull barrel and install a brake on it?

From what I read, as long as it doesn't have any other "evil" features, the threaded barrel by itself is OK.

Thanks

As long as you don't have a pistol grip stock then yes

Yep threaded barrel is allowed just don't put an evil flash hider on it lol

I actually have a Hogue takedown stock on mine that came with a defect on the receiver section and Hogue won't warranty it (10% off discount for another stock set since I bought from Amazon), I was thinking about buying the Tac-Sol combo barrel/Hogue stock although its pricey @ $300 I would have the bull barrel and the factory barrel both with the Hogue forend sections -

I looked at the Ruger factory bull barrels but I've never seen one in person just the pics on their website.

ataimwolswol - do you mean the fancy tactical threaded Takedown barrel for $220 on ShopRuger?  If that's the going price I'd prob just get the Tac-Sol barrel - they have a few new barrels on the Ruger store that weren't there earlier this year when I got my Takedown
