Wifey made me new vinyl decal for my laptop!

Recommended Posts

I wrote awhile back I was looking for logos etc for my wife to play with for her new vinyl cutter. I got her to make a M&P logo for my laptop today and here's the result. I'm going to have her make "Shall Not Be Infringed" for the top of the computer.

It will cut whatever we put into it. I kinda screwed up by placing it too close to the HP logo. Options are unlimited really...can make decals for w/e. The more detailed it is the more she has to "weed" or cut out the useless parts of the logo.

She can make probably whatever you want. Cost would depend on size and the cost of the vinyl for the color you would want. Some colors are easier and cheaper to come by of course. Also, some added for however labor intensive it is to remove the unneeded vinyl from the decal etc.

Anyone is free to PM me if you need anything done and we can discuss how much it should cost to make. Finding the vinyl and if it needs to be shipped would determine how long it would take to make, again and how complex the design is to take the excess vinyl from the decal.

Not really sure, she hasn't tried anything big. The cutter is about 2 feet wide and you can go pretty much as long as the roll of vinyl. Shipping is no issue, as long as it'll fit in something you can ship it in lol

We can make tshirts too! Was looking for traditional HK No Compromise kind of like this.

Since that has red and white and we were just testing I wanted to save that one for another time if this works.

Stumbled across this....so we made it...

I've had my cutter for a bunch of years, back when they first started becoming affordable.  I only have a 14" but you'd be amazed at what you can do with it.  I mainly use it to letter my commercial cars but have done a ton of decals for moto and BMX stuff. I buy 24" vinyl from US cutter and cut it in half on a miter saw to save a few bucks.

Thank you! I'll check out that website. We've been scrounging for places that supply cheaper vinyl and heat transfer vinyl. Also, we've been having problems with the transfer tape in our area. For some reason, the vinyl/transfer tape combo we have will not let the vinyl stick to glass.

What glass? I had issues with the interior surface on cars only, acted like colorforms. I forget what the issue was but a sign guy said it can be a problem. No issues exterior or door glass, etc. Im using a new plastic type transfer tape, its more like a plastic film instead of masking tape.

Wife made a last name initial design logo for her Mom and Dad for their front door glass twice and hasn't been able to get it to stick. She's not around right now for me to ask which transfer tape she's trying it with. Mostly stuff from Michael's since we haven't started ordering online yet.

So you use vinyl to make the t shirts?

Specific heat press vinyl. You use either an iron or an actually heat press made for shirts to apply it and adhere it to the fabric. It feels sort of rubbery after. I just have to find a more affordable vinyl for it, cause I can buy tshirts cheaper than making them this way as of now.
