Legal to Nueter and Send...?

Recommended Posts

My parents live in South Carolina, and I have used a local FFL down there in the past to send up some pistols my father didn't want anymore.

Recently that FFL had great deals on some "real" ARs. Most recently they had a Armalite Eagle 15 optics ready for under 500 bucks...

I asked if they'd be willing to send up the rifle to NJ without the 30 round mag, with the flash hider taken off (with the threads exposed) and to send it with no stock (just left with the buffer tube)

I was told he will not because the ATF could ask him how he made it legal before shipping......

Is he right?

I told him my FFL would make sure it was NJ legal before transferring it to me... but he wasn't believing me...

He could send the same way 1000s if not 100s of 1000s of non compliant ARs shipped by various out of state vendors, FFLs to NJ FFLs.

Same way I ordered non compliant parts online to be shipped to NJ FFL for compliance work.

If he is willing, how about he ask his ATF contact in that neck of woods.

The excuse he gave you about the ATF asking him how he made it legal

is BS.

First - the ATF has no regulations about shipping rifles (other than NFA,)

since the AWB has expired.

Second - an FFL can ship a Non-Compliant weapon to another FFL w/o

any State regulations since the FFL is exempt for the State Regulations.

As T Bill said - He just doesn't want to get involved and came up with that lame excuse.

Have someone down there (Friend or Relative) purchase the rifle.

Then have them take it to another FFL and have it transferred to

NJ FFL who is willing to do the compliance work - really very simple........

I thought it was a lame excuse.... and now it just holds no water.

I'll reach out to him again, it was a great deal (at least I think it is)

He had done me right in the past with some great transfers.

He is not, but he doesn't know better. Have him make it complaint and then send it.

Said he doesn't do "gunsmithing"

That's why I said to unscrew the flashhider and just remove the collapsing stock.

Would take him 2 minutes and make him some easy cash.

I might take you up on it.

Might just buy a lower and start building something. Not very good with tools but sure I could figure it out .

Will let you know, I'm in old bridge and you are a little far for a transfer!

If you PM me the contact info - i would be happy to call the guy and see if i can

talk some sense into his head and do the transfer & compliance work for you........

By doing either of those 2 things you haven't done anything to make the rifle compliant. Might as well tell him to do nothing and just send it asis

If you go that route, don't sweat it. My motto is "I fly them, don't fix them" because I'm to mechanically inclined, but I built my last lower with no issues at all. Plenty of online resources out there. Having the right tools makes it easier too.

      Hello Gents,

I'm selling my (like new) AR mid length complete upper receiver chambered in 300BLKOUT 7.62 × 35mm manufactured by Special Ops Tactical.  Only put approximately 100 rounds through it. For those of you who don't know, this basically will fit on most AR lowers and uses the same AR magazines but gives you a .30 caliber (7.62 x 35) by just swapping the upper receiver if you are looking for a heavier load and more knock down power for hunting etc. (obviously state laws apply). I'm only selling it because I ended up buying a complete .30 caliber rifle.

      Here are some specs:

300 BLK Out Nitride - 14.5″ Pinned to 16" Overall Midlength Upper
GPX 12.6" MLOK Free Floating Rail System with continuous 1913 Picatinny rail on top
Muzzle Brake Original "Black Magic" 30 Cal (pinned & welded NJ legal).
      {Nitride} M4 Extended Feed Ramps
      Nitride M4 Barrel Extension
      1:7 Twist Rate
      5/8×24 Thread Pitch
      Raptor Charging Handle

      Price: $695

Pm or email me with any questions: [email protected]
      I am in Deptford NJ.
THE FIRST TO POST "I'LL TAKE IT" WINS THE SALE.
A "PM sent" DOES NOT ESTABLISH THE SALE. If you want the item, post "I'll take it" and should the deal fall apart the seller can post "still available." Should you reach a negotiated price via PM then post "I'll take it per our PM(s)"  on this thread.
