PSA Premium BCG (binding bolt?)

Recommended Posts

So I took a closer look at the premium BCG a few of us got from the sale and noticed that the bolt is not moving so freely in the carrier.  It seems like the gas rings are binding along the chrome-lined interior.

Are any of you guys noticing this?  On my other BCG's I can move the bolt in and out very smoothly, but this PSA bolt required a lot of force to get out and is a pain to get it back.

Would this smooth itself out as it's being fired in my upper?  I'm worried this will cause problems down the road

Tight is good. It means the gas rings are making good contact with the carrier and creating a good seal.

When they are too loose is when you run into problems.

The test T Bill describes above is how you check for bad gas rings and should be performed every time you remove the BCG from the rifle for cleaning it a wipe down.

Lube it and shoot it. You most likely are good to go.
