OTV soft armor question

I know the otv is far less then ideal, and was outdated when it hit the field. I also know the next comment is gonna be that they're only pistol armor, im aware. I also know that an actual otv fits about as well as a cardboard refrigerator box

I know Beez Combat Systems makes their IBA OTV Carrier for the 3 peice otv soft armor, but my budget for this stuff is increasingly going to the kids (read this as the $140 isnt bad, but id need to save longer then id want to for a make shift fix.). Does anyone know of a cheaper alternative that i can wedge these things into that would accomplish a similar goal. I need something pretty low profile as it will be used under a TAG gladiator or Chi-com chest rig

Do you have the soft armor plates already or are you looking to purchase them with the vest?

i have the plates, and they were a freebie, thats the only reason i was considering using them

as far as i see they dont have anything for the old otv cut

Ah it's a specific cut.  do you know what dimensions the plates are?
