Academy has Blazer brass 9mm 50 rounds $9.99

Recommended Posts

That's a standard Academy MO.  Seems their inventory is not tied to their website until checkout.  I gave up on them long ago.  FYI, I went to the Remington Rebate website and the $5 a box rebate appears to be good on all 50 round boxes of UMC pistol and revolver ammo bought 11/24-11.27.

Anyone have issues with stove pipes with Blazer Brass? A buddy of mine had about 10 of them at the range last weekend. No, he's not a limp wrister.

Make?  Needs a good cleaning perhaps?  Extractor problems?  Same mag or happens on any of them?

None for me, I have used them in several guns including a Ruger SR45, S&W Shield and a Citadel M1911, both 9mm and .45.

Sorry for the lack of info. New M&P9 Pro. Apex Tactical Semi Drop In Barrel, Apex Tactical Striker Spring, Sear, and Sear Spring. I'm just now watching videos of him shooting that day, and some of the brass is barely making it out of the gun. I'm almost 100% it was from some of the cartridges being loaded too light.

Don't be so sure on that.  Semi drop in barrel?  Who did the final fitting?  I would not be inclined to think ammo right away after so many aftermarket changes.

I did it. I also did the same exact to my gun that is running perfectly. Is there anything with improper barrel fitting that can cause stove pipes? The first few mags, the ejection pattern was normal and he had no malfuctions. Then, as he starts having stove pipes, I can see how weakly the brass is being ejected. I honestly don't think it's due to any after market parts, but I'm all ears. (Always more to learn)

He's been trying to get to the range with other ammo, but hasn't had the time. (9 month old at home)

Does the slide move freely or does it have a 'hick' when moving.  If anything is restricting slide movement it will show up in the ejection of the brass. BTW, any unusual marks on the brass?  Try the ammo in your gun, see what happens.

It's a tight fit but moves freely. Mine binds up a little bit but has been functioning 100%. He's got plenty of other ammo, it's just getting time to go to the range that's the issue. I'll report back when he does.
