Here come top five best selling handguns:

Notice that they all are good fit for CCW, that means that it is most likely different in NJ and other non-CCW places.
The author says that
"With the Republicans now in control of the presidency and congress, investors and gun owners might assume that gun sales will rise over the next four years."

I disagree.  The real "gun lobby" is on the left.  In the situation where there are fewer concerns about gun rights, the sales will rather go down.  My Ruger stock lost quite a bit since elections - I don't mind :)

Interesting to note the G19 is still there. Best all around 9mm IMO.

I have a couple of G19's and now that I carry every day never use them.  I find them way too big for concealed carry.  The largest size now Glock I carry is the G26. I prefer single stack 9mm's now (Sig P290RS or Kahr K9.  I always have a 380 in my pocket in addition to the single stack 9.

All about opinion. IMO the 19 is big enough to shoot well but compact enough to conceal. There's not much difference between the 19 and the 26 or the 19 and the 17. The only advantage the 26 has if you use an ankle holster or need to fit it in a box a certain size. I've carried guns for over 40 years and haven't found much difference in carrying a gun that's an inch longer in any direction. I've carried Glocks for about 20 years. I carried a 17 concealed in plainclothes as a LEO for about 8 years. That was by choice. I could have carried just a 26.

It's whatever floats your boat. More importantly it's carrying something you can shoot well. Too many pick a small gun for concealed carry based on size but they can't shoot it well. I would agree that a J frame or a small 380 meet most people's needs for concealed carry. Most people who carry one think of it as just a "belly gun" and are satisfied with pie plate groups at 10 yards. I don't.

I carry small guns often but I think a lot of people don't develop their skills enough.

If it works for you that's fine.

I think you'll see a market correction for 3 years.

Now if things change for better 2a I think you'll see a purchase increase across the board.

A lot of people hate being bothered with machinations of 2a. If it's easy, everybody is gonna do it.

My .02

I fully understand your point.  That is why I used "I" in my statement. I have found that cops are not the best at real CCW.  Full disclosure, FED retirement in 2014.  I was in NJ lst week and saw a guy CCW'ing at Wal-Mart.  Obvious short haircut LEO.  His CCW piece was a Glock with some type of OWB Kydex holster (was sticking out of his flannel shirt).  i have found that because NJ is so CCW unfriendly it is easy to spot LEOs CCW'ing.  I believe that carrying concealed truly means concealed.  I can open carry wherever I want, choose not to.  I can shoot my tiny guns just fine.

Okay, but I still don't think an extra inch in any dimension makes a gun too big to conceal. Thats about the difference between a 19 and 26.

Your point about the kydex OWB is well taken. OWB kydex holsters tend to hold the gun away from the body. Thats why I don't own one
