Looking for 1x12 lumber - rough cut

Recommended Posts

Woods and beams in Fairfield.

They may not have the width you are looking for, tough. Pine will work fine as it will get painted and it's cheaper than cedar. You'll have to treat the hives for mites, anyway.

Roughsawn lumber is sold in board feet not linear feet. You will need a planer and jointer to machine the lumber before you can use it.

Woods and beams will do that for you for an extra fee.

Do you know of any saw mills nearby? When I built my cabin I used ruff cut pine planks for the siding over OSB and it was very cheap and they were 12 ft long. He also as scrap pieces with the bark on them that looked awesome and he just gave them all to me!

Good idea. I got to go find a saw mills but I am not sure there are any here.

Not to hi-jack the thread but, has anyone ever built a bat house? What type of material did you use? I hear that it is a great form of mosquito control for the summer months and let's face it bats are pretty cool.

The ones we sell are cedar

I've bought stuff there. Nice enough guys and they have lots of variety, but prices are a little on the higher side. They will surface for you too which is nice for the wider stuff if you don't have a big enough jointer.

The original price you got actually doesn't seem that bad. If it's convenient and quality wood.

In 1x12, a 1 LF=1 BF, just sayin.
