Got my first ticket, can I fight it ?

Okay, so it seems like I'll try to strike a deal with the prosecutor. Does anyone have any tips on what to say and how to act, or do I just act respectfully, say I learned my lesson, and tell him that I'm a really safe driver with this being the first time I was pulled over in the past nine years that I've been driving ?

 

 

Act like a rational human -- He's just a man or woman

 

No reason to be afraid 

 

Personally I'd take the points if I made an illegal U turn and got caught --  Something about the whole process of them just making money for the town bothers me -- I'd rather pay that money to my insurance company --  at least they do something for me if I need them

 

Yes you can beat them in court -- I have -- without a lawyer but I was right and proved it -- this doesn't seem to be the case here
