Basic Pistol course S. Jersey

Recommended Posts

My kids just got their FID's and I want to have them enroll in a Basic Pistol course in the South Jersey area. Does anyone know if the course is offered at Ft. Dix? I thought they had the classes there at one point. Also, am I correct that the course is now 2 parts? The first class being online.

Thanks

I don't know about Fort Dix but the basic pistol class is now two part.  Part one is completed on line and part two is done in the classroom and range.  It makes the live demonstrations and live fire go much faster but the online portion is childish and there is no interaction with an instructor if you don't understand something.

FYI: The NRA is dumping the "blended learning" concept (classroom on line / live fire at the range) in favor of it all being done with a live instructor. This is supposed to occur within 60 days from the beginning of the year.

Just thought you might want to wait until they are doing it all live.

I've heard that, but not the timing.  Good news, IMO.

I second either Kharis Sepulveda or Tony Simon and Sean Fisher. I've taken at least 3 classes from Kharis (actually where I first met Tony and Sean), and sat in on a basic shotgun class Tony and Sean taught. All of them are extremely knowledgeable and thorough.

Thanks for all the info guys. I'll look into the places mentioned and see what my kids can attend.

It may be better to wait and see if the two part class is dropped. Probably more informative and can answer any questions where the on line class may not have been able to. Thanks.
