AR Stock Epoxy vs Pinned

Does NJ law specify Pinning an adjustable stock as the required remediation to be legal or is it just the defacto generally accepted method?

 

I have a stock that has two recessed Allen key screws that screw down onto the buffer tube. They are to take any little wiggle out of the stock... when fully tighten you can NOT move the stock on the buffer tube with out destroying the tube unless the are loosened..

 

Would it be reasonable safe to epoxy over the recessed screw heads? This would require the screws be drilled out to adjust the stock. Same as if it was Pinned.

 

The grey is the epoxy in the pic below.... I will touch it up black so it looks correct.

Ace makes great stocks... I have that exact stock on a different rifle.

 

But an $89 stock vs a dab of epoxy is two very different approaches.

Why even use epoxy? Your stock does not collapse without it.

Bingo! Never epoxied any pinned stock, 3/32" hole and a 3/32" x 3/4" roll pin. That is all.

The epoxy is covering screws for tightening the stock the the buffer tube. They have to be covered... or perhaps ground down.

You are over thinking this. Just put a roll pin which can be moved and re positioned  (with tools) if needed.

I "immobilize" the lever that retracts the pin in the stock, that allows it to slide.
