Traveling to a PA gun range

Recommended Posts

I somewhat remember a thread on this but can't find it.

I recently moved near the PA border but work requires I stay in NJ. I was invited to a range in PA (Dingmans) and was just thinking about if there were any restrictions I should be aware of. Most likely I'm thinking there may be some no-no for transporting handguns in state, as I recall an odd law about that.

Thanks.

NJ law requires unloaded, ammo in separate container than firearm. Follow that till you cross into America and with a PA or NH permit you can stop load up and carry on.

Without a carry permit from any state you would have to keep it in the container and go straight to the range and back to your home.

Long guns unloaded till you get to range. In PA i Think it's a hunting restriction regarding travel with a loaded long gun. I'm sure someone else will chime in.
