Case in point. NSW has me in the 8-12" and WeatherNJ is 10-18" Pretty big difference

 

I understand this is t an exact science and I enjoy the write up and details behind their forecast. But they do tend to aim high.

My driveway is at 1250 feet and am typically colder by 5 or so degrees than even 600 feet elevation.   When I see storm totals, I'm almost always at the top of the list.   Friday we got a solid 6 inches of snow, no rain.  

 

If you are at a low elevation or near a big body of water, expect to be on the lower end of the scale.
