  1. +1 for Lou's Gun Shop in Raritan NJ. Great service and a no nonsense approach from Chris and Marshall. Excellent selection and fair pricing. Check them out on 91 W. Somerset St.
  2. Actually there were 24 students there and 6 staff members. Turned out to be a great class. I helped out with RSO duties and met a few of the participants.
  3. Kerosene can be used to clean your firearms. It is not a flammable liquid like gasoline. It is a combustible liquid for those who might be interested. Meaning it would have to be over 100 degrees fahrenheit to have it flash with an iignition source. I like using gun scrubber, but that is indeed more expensive and doesn't last that long. Make sure you oil area's correctly after stripping oils from a gun with agents like gun scrubber, kerosene and the like.
  4. Ah, a good holster and a fine firearm SgtT. I just got a new one myself, the "Old Faithful IWB Holster". It will be for my Ruger SR9c. They are just like the Crossbreed Supertuck holsters, which is another quality product. What sold me on the Old Faithful was the option they give you of assembling the holster yourself and saving about 40 dollars depending on what "stage" you order. It took less then 30 minutes to make the holster and tailor it to what I liked (Retention, ride height, etc..) The kydex was even thicker than the Crossbreed. Anyone interested in a high quality product with simple mechanical skills, will surely love this option. It's basically, tapping tee-nuts in place and screwing the molded kydex into the leather. Here is the site for those that might be interested...... Oldfaithfulholsters.com. BTW: It is a rewarding feeling making it yourself, as you will know your holster even better.
  5. There is a reason it is called "Dicks" Sporting Goods. It's what management is. Jim....out.
  6. A Stoeger Cougar .40Cal and a Stoeger Cougar compact in 9mm. For both I use a Don Hume leather holster. One IWB and one OWB.
  7. I am a member of Brick Armory for a couple years now and have never had a bad experience, whether making purchases, training or shooting. The owners are affable, knowledgeable and will go out of there way to make sure you have a good shooting experience. In life your attitute going in many times dictates others, keep that in mind. It's time to move on and base things on your own experiences (General statement) and not rumours of the past or regurgitated bovine excrement. Give them a look see and also Tim over at L&H (Woods & water) in Wall. He's a pleasure to deal with. Good luck and Safe shooting. Jim....out.
  8. I have a cigar/pipe smoking lounge in my home. I am sure you can tell where I would stand on this issue! Having a Fonseca Port and a Ashton as I type this. Jim....out.
  9. I live in Brick and the ladies there are very good to deal with. They seem to turn things around within 30 days. I went to the PD on May 8, 2012 for another purchase permit and she informed me it would take about 2-3 months this time. I asked why and she stated that they are inundated this P2P's. Dealing with over 300 a month in the last few month's. I don't know if that was accurate, but it was indeed good to hear. I will keep folks posted. Jim....out.
  10. Excellent article Pizza Bob. One of the firearms in the picture is an underlever air rifle. The deeper you look and obtain the facts, the more the ineffectiveness of these programs becomes apparent.
  11. I wear Belleville Desert boots (Vibram sole) Military issue. 8 hours every day and they are more comfortable than my sneakers. WWW.BELLEVILLESHOE.COM
  12. You did make the course better Adam! The humor and the pictures showing all my mistakes. It was indeed a great course and good company, Thank you, now get out the new XD and practice. We will have to have a mini competition soon.
  13. Speer lawman is one of the brands I run thru my Beretta .40 cal. Good quality ammo with no issues. I ask you though, is there really such a thing as cheap ammo any longer?
  14. A welcome from Brick NJ. Jim....out.
