  1. Coming up on 3 years open , thanks to all who have stopped in and supported us. Its gone by real quick Stop in on Black Friday to check out some of our specials if you get tired of buying socks and Ties
  2. the 300 yard range has been closed for 3 months so far. Looks to be a couple of weeks from completion, but no one was around to ask at the time I was there last. You can shoot at the 200 yard range during the week after 4 or 430 when the workers clear off the 300 yard side. Did it a few times during the summer and was pretty empty during the week. It was open all day, but kind of crowded on the few weekends I went this summer. It does suck that it was closed since the end of June but it had to be done and the rebuild including the new shelter and firing line looks pretty nice. Hopefully they open soon.
  3. The Range at the Former Fort Monmouth is Moving Forward. There is a lot of red tape to deal with in former Military property re development. As stated earlier we know the folks involved well and its going to be a top notch place. Omri
  4. Can one of the Admins to this forum contact us, we'd like to become an approved vendor thanks and happy thanksgiving to you all
  5. We know one of the guys involved in the project at the former DOD range at Fort Monmouth. He is a top notch guy and when the whole project is done folks are going to have an awesome place to shoot, train and get guns. Its the perfect location for a range, right in the heart of Monmouth County. I don't know all the particulars as to time frame, etc, I do know dealing with the BRAC which is the agency in charge of turning over the fort properties to the Towns and developers has been one batch of red tape after another (I know your all shocked at a government entity causing delays)...... Sounds like shovels may be in the ground soon.........finally.
  6. As we come up on two years of being open we just want to say thanks to everyone who has come in and to everyone who has basically advertised for us by telling their friends and friends of friends. Thanks again to everyone for the positive reviews about our shop. We've grown a lot in two years and look forward to the future thanks to you all. We are having some pretty good black Friday deals. If any one knows how to share the flyer that is on our website or facebook page on here, feel free to do so. Id do it myself but since my technology skills are below that of a current 3rd grader I am unable to pull off such a feat. Look forward to seeing you all soon. Howell Gun Works Peace through superior firepower!
  7. The best option would be Ruger making a factory compliant gun......they promised a NJ/MA compliant AR556 soon....maybe they'll be inclined to do a NJ version of the charger...one day
  8. We looked into this as we had a lot of folks asking...short answer is since the weight of the gun exceeds the 48oz nonsense from the factory its not NJ compliant, regardless of what weight you do to it "aftermarket".......we have an 07 and a NJ State manufacturers license. I guess in theory we could mess with it, get it down below the 50oz, stamp the receiver with Howell Gun Works LLC, Howell NJ, submit a manufacturing report, pay an excise tax...........which would make a cool affordable pistol quite expensive and time consuming.....hardly worth it. This is another example of NJ Firearms regulations being extremely stupid..........
  9. A major thank you to everyone for the kind words and for your business. We appreciate it more than words can express. A new exciting Chapter is about to start at Howell Gun Works. This Saturday, March 7th we will be welcoming a new member to the coolest gun shop in Central NJ. Check out our facebook page for more news on this and a nice special we're running on that day. Thanks again everyone, look forward to seeing you all again, or if you haven't made it in yet, having you check us out.
  10. For those of you who have called, emailed or stopped in asking about the Brick Armory Transfers, A post was put up under that thread. Thanks
  11. As the Division of Taxation releases the firearms to us, we will do the transfers. They will only release the firearms as they identify the owners and notify them. Once they do that they are suppose to get them to us so we can conduct the transfer(s). If they did not notify you, then your firearm is not ready for release to us for transfer for whatever reason. we will only be charging the $15 NICS fee, no additional transfer fees. You will need a permit to purchase a pistol for each handgun, and a FID Card for any long guns. We were advised that if you are one of the people who had a handgun there, and you need to apply for a P2P, or multiples to start the process and submit required paperwork, then contact the NJSP Firearms Unit and they will attempt to assist in getting your P2P in a timely fashion. If your firearm was there for gunsmithing, we were advised that the division of taxation will be releasing the firearm directly to you. Any other situation will require the transfer through us. We anticipate the first batch which is estimated to be around 19 firearms sometime late next week. Im sure all of you are frustrated by what has happened to your property. Just remember we had NOTHING to do with that, so please do not take out any of your frustrations out on us. (note, we are doing this for nothing, but if you do decide to take out your frustrations on us, expect a fee, likely a big one) So again...WE HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH ANY OF THIS, WE ARE JUST TRYING TO GET PEOPLES LAWFULLY OWNED FIREARMS BACK TO THEIR RIGHTFUL OWNERS. If your firearm was on consignment, or you no longer desire to have it, or for some reason your situation has changed and you cant for what ever reason ( finances, wife or girlfriend found out you bought another gun, wife found out about your girlfriend, etc) talk to us and we will work out something to sell your firearm for you. We look forward to meeting you all at some point and getting your stuff back. Howell Gun Works 2446 Route 9 South Howell NJ 07731 (note google maps and other GPS apparently puts somewhere else we've been told, so search for Christies Resturant, we are in the same Plaza, Called Howell Center on Route 9 Southbound in Howell, Cross streets are West Farms Rd, which we are south of and White st, which we are north of) Our phone number is 848-444-9400 email is [email protected] to repeat, you are suppose to be notified by taxation when your firearm is released to us, so calling or emailing us everyday wont get it there faster. Sorry for the long post, but theres a lot of things in motion with this whole mess.
  12. Goto our facebook page and check out our Black Friday Deals....they will be pretty nice. We will be having our 1 year anniversary sales the following week. Thanks to everyone who has come in and helped us get off the ground over this past year. A lot of folks hear about us through this forum, thanks again.
  13. Thank you all for the positive feedback and for your business, we greatly appreciate it. We recently attended a trade show and due to every ones support we were able to secure enough ammo contracts to roll back our prices on the common target ammo, 9, 40, 45, 38 Special and .223. We also anticipate delivery on quite a few new products in the next few months. None of this could have happened without all of you who have come by and who have spread the word. Thank you again and we hope to see you soon. And im sure someone will ask so yes, we ordered as much 22 LR as permitted, however no guarantees on delivery dates which seems to be the par for 22LR nowadays.
