Oh, my! This thread... it's like Zeke's a little bantamweight and Mrs. Zeke is the heavyweight champion of the world... the way she's tossing him around the ring. Daaaammn! He's so outmatched. I LIKE IT!!

I apologize. You know what they say: you can pick your friends, you can pick your nose, but you can't offer a friend's wife to help hide the evidence.

In my car, I carry a field hockey stick that I picked up for $2 at a thrift shop. Seems like it would make a good beatum stick.

If Zeke disappears from these boards. There will be NO questions!!! He's not very bright as you all can see from his posts.

Just do it and shuddup about it, unless your relatives are scumbags. In which case I wouldn't do it

So back in December I submitted for a change of address with permits and that took less than 30 days to complete. On 4/25 I submitted for 3 more permits. Just got the call today to come pick them up. WOW, that is pretty impressive for this state! Two weeks and two days!

I'm with Ray. We let the stupidity win. If half the hand wringing on this thread applies to you, move or sell your guns. You don't have the stomach for it. Try as you might to be a good subject in the prnj, one call from your wife and you're done. So exercise your good judgement, don't be an asshole and shut the fuck up. A lot of us have gotten through a fair portion of our lives safely practicing those rules. It's beyond me how anyone can still beard rub on these questions. Oh and one more thing... regardless of who tells you what, you're on your own... good luck

here are two examples of typical Armslist listings: One is a "Premium Vendor" (Please pardon the shameless plug - lol) These are the trustworthy sellers, usually dealers / FFL' The other is a "Private" seller - These can disappear without a trace if not careful Always check the Registration date - if they have been there a while, chance are they are good, if they are brand new & the deal it too good to be true - it probably isn't....

I own the Mod 2 in the 4 inch barrel. Shoots great and feels great. But I also own the Walther PPQ M2 9mm 5". Great pistol accurate and feels great on my hand. I would recommend the Walthers over the Springfield

I've only sold 1 gun on Armslist and the amount of scammers is amazing. I would only do FTF transfers if your lucky enough to get a legit buyer.

Unless you want to dump an assload of money get the z06 and do some modest things. GS is nice but it's not a z06. My 08 Z, which I recently unloaded, at the TTi twin turbo done. I'm a big turbo guy even dumped stupid money into my Harley RK CVO to build a crazy stout turbo motor. New z has a blower and can have pulley swappped and tuned to crank out a bit more. At that point what else would you really need power wise? Don't get too crazy so you can keep it drivable. Mine got a bit unwieldy. im working on my restraint, k zeke?

We aim to please, lol! It's easier than using my arthritic fingers to type a diatribe of background, resume, list classes and instructors, certifications, titles, life experiences (including working for the Police Photo Lab), etc., etc. By the time I get done with all of it, I have to reach for the Advils, lol. Of course if you WANT to be bored to death, just ask for my ph # in a PM...

Well, to state the obvious.... Guns are an asset, that usually goes up in value over time. Cars... well you know the deal. Although who would ever imagine third generation mullet machines going up in price (Turd gens F-bodies are now collectible, wow). I think a C7 is still a long far away from being a collectible and has plenty more to drop. How often are you actually going to drive it? Will it be a daily driver or a track day car? If track day, how often are you actually going to use it? My brother bought a new c6 Z06 but seldom actually drove it, especially in jersey weather. the alternative is... borrow one or rent one every few months to your hearts content. In the mean time, get the GM credit card and start earning those points towards a GM. Start shopping and wait for someone who Needs to sell theirs and snap it up. We are bound to have a recession in the near future and those are the first toys to go. Another alternative, join a car club (where you buy a membership and can use the clubs cars x amount of days). TLDR, Cars are depreciating asset, I would keep guns, rent or borrow a C7 a few times a year for track days and still come out ahead.

You may not believe what I say has no bearing because I'm not a "NJ cop". Let me enlighten you. I was a "NJ cop" before I went to the Federal government and yes that was some time ago. We had Task Force Officers (TFOs) assigned to my office in Newark. These were state, county, and local LEOs assigned to my office. They were sworn in and had the same powers I did. What did the agency get in return? We paid their overtime and the agency got asset sharing. How much could their agency get for asset sharing? NJSP got over $1,000,000 one year I'm aware of for having one Trooper assigned to my office. That paid his salary and let NJSP collect the change. There were many times we encountered state violations where there was no comparable Federal law. TFOs usually would make those arrests and make those cases. The US Attorney's Office would decline prosecution on some cases for various reasons. If there was a comparable state law I would make the arrest and see the prosecution through the state courts. Federal officers have full police powers in NJ. My knowledge of NJ state criminal law and the judicial system is a lot more than you think. Federal LEOs do not pursue enforcing state laws but if it happens it happens. You are right in saying what I say or even a "NJ cop" tells you means nothing if you get picked up. I can tell you about some more pretty much worthless advice. If you get arrested and tell the cop, "Evan Nappen said this was okay" it wont help you either. I've dealt with at least several hundred lawyers in my time. Unless something is very clear in the law and you ask a lawyer for advice they will tell you not to do it. Yes, prosecutors make the decision to prosecute a case. Guess where they get there input? From cops. Do some cases get thrown out because there is not enough probable cause? Sure that happens rarely. Cops don't make their careers by making bum arrests. It is the prosecutor's duty to pursue a case as long as there is probable cause and the evidence was obtained legally. To do anything else is malfeasance or nonfeasance depending how it is done. Yes, there are things like plea bargaining and PTI which are designed to let a prosecutor clear his or her case load for not so serious offenses and offenders. So yes, what I say will not help you if you get arrested. But neither will anything told to you by an attorney. I think I've eliminated some of the "many reasons" you claim one should not listen to what I say.

^^^Ray and Griz for the WIN! When Sandy hit a few years back the local Cops and NJSP went around to the Big Ticket properties and told the owners to move their expensive cars, valuables AND FIREARMS to a safer location, such as a friend's or relatives house or apartment. So were the Cops telling you to break the law or merely pointing-out a common-sense interpretation of written law? If it doesn't say you CAN'T do something, then you CAN, lol! You CAN breathe AIR, you don't need permission via typed written word to do so...

Please stop with the phony baloney $1 lease stuff. As far as storing a firearm in a locked container at a relative's house. I don't see a problem there. It's not a transfer. The relative has no access to the firearm if its locked up. It's not a transfer when you leave your guns at home and youre gone for a week is it? When you store firearms at one of these FFLS that rent you storage space it's not a transfer. I can see why it would be different. Reasonable deviation? That's up to interpretation. However, in 45 years of owning guns in NJ I have never heard of anyone arrested because they made an "unreasonable deviation" going to or coming from a range. If anyone knows of such an incident, please enlighten me. I've asked that question numerous times on this forum since it started and no one has been able to come up with one. IANAL, but I think too many over think the reasonable deviation issue.
