Funny you mention that. I'm on a dog forum currently and half of the current discussions are about 2A and gun related issues...

I do like the scope. I'm having a hard time not picking up the Henry and tricking it out similarly. You know for when you need to shoot a t-rex thru a brick wall Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk

Ray, you are nuts. Miami Vice had some pretty good gun handling. Hell, most of Michael Mann's stuff was all good as far as gun handling. He was a shooter.

The HK Web Shop advised this morning there's a 3-for-2 magazine sale with free shipping on orders over $50 until Monday. Since almost every H&K mag lists at $50, this amounts to three magazines at a 33% discount with free shipping. Note that the discount and free shipping did not appear in my shopping cart, but should be reflected in the final order, as noted on their home page. Update: The correct discounted charge was made. Only sales tax added.

In honor of my 1st borns fascination with Jurassic World and a little push from the 7 year old! dads got a little surprise for him. Who am I kidding I wanted this gun from the moment I laid eyes on it on the big screen. Marlin 1895 SBL with a Leupold scout scope. Tried finding the exact scope from the movie but it seems the silver color is discontinued on this model. This one is supposed to be gun metal but seem a little Purple Patrick! It works well being that the wood grain has traces of purple. Next range day should be fun. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Jealous! I know I have posted this before. I want to build one of these in .45-70 or .30-30 (can't decide) and a second in .38/.357 so badly:

Probably will catch hell for it, despite some of the picks in this list, but Proof of Life has one of my favorite gun battles. I will have to think of other movies, but right now, Heat tops my list. Gratuitous gun porn: Matrix lobby scene and T2 minigun window scene And turnoffs are any movie I have to yell TRIGGER DISCIPLINE! at the screen.

I hate you guys! I'm a huge fan of the 45-70! I going to get a lever gun, probably a Henry. But I also really want an Uberti Sharp's replica, I love the movie Quigley Down Under! Nothing like shooting steel at distance and having enough time to put your rifle on the bench before you hear the bullet hit the target! I have not seen the newer jurassic park. Guess I need to if they are killing dinosaurs with them!

No thanks. Maybe if I was doing VBSS work I would think about using it. I find it interesting that they use gallons of water and not ballistic gelatin to demo their rounds... Ah ha! Here's why, it does poorly in ballistic gelatin - the standard for testing the terminal ballistics of ammunition. From the highly respected DocGKR (Dr. Gary Roberts) ~ 2006 time frame: There is a reason they went out of business. There is a reason that so few LEO Dept and Mil/Gov agencies issued it, and only for a short time period. I also am not a fan of a shotgun for HD and prefer my AR, but the shotgun in my safe is loaded with Hornady TAP 8 pellet 00B while I look for Federal Flight control #1B, which is always sold out....

Same here I make a dark peanut butter colored roux and I thicken with File. Takes me a couple hours to make the gumbo but it is worth it. I usually put about $200 worth of seafood in it. Not a big fan of Okra. It gets stringy when reheated. 50/50 Po' Boy Oysters and Shrimp. Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk

Awesome. They did a great job with the crushed concrete stone underneath then the paving is done right. I have a huge driveway with enough room to back up and turn around in. Nick is definitely a great guy - He did the excavating, etc on the new house

I knew they got the Winchester tools but didn't know they were trashed by that time. I have a Danish Garand with many Beretta parts. I picked it out at the North Store. It has a VAR barrel. It's my best shooting M1.

The Winchester tools were garbage by the time Italy got them. They manufactured new tools and made some of the finest M1s! Breda & BMB both made them.

Interestingly Keanu Reeves is pro2a and respected by the weapon consultants as genuinely interested in actually using weapons properly. The two John Wick movies have some nice action and accurate depictions. Taking a blasé security attitude by using Tapatalk Pro

It OK Ray. This is America! I support your decision to be willfully wrong and tell us all about it! If a shotgun is your choice for HD: Low recoil/Tactical 00 or #1 buck, preferably in a Flight Control type round, is the way to go for social shotgun work inside and around typical CONUS homes.

High brass means nothing, you can buy high brass rounds that are less hot than wally-world bulk federal target loads https://www.grafs.com/retail/catalog/product/productId/72279

For me, I shoot MUCH better with a heavier pistol(ie bull barrel). For example, I shoot my High Standard Sharpshooter(circa 1974) with it's bull barrel much better than my much newer M&P 22. Makes for a much more satisfying range session.

Trust me you will start with single stage and end up with progressive. It's an addiction. My new dillon 650 just finished setting up 223 i also purchased the shell feeder. I am only doing rifle on the 650 as i have had a dillon square deal since 1987 and have all my handgun calibers for it. dillon650.mp4

During the milliseconds the explosion lasted, NJ would qualify it as a 'serious threat'. Unfortunately, you didn't get your application in during that window, so they won't consider it now.
  40. 1 point
Maybe next time file the application as the bullet is flying through the air towards your home. You stand a better chance of not getting immediately denied.
  41. 1 point
According to the State of NJ, since the incident is over, there's no more threat. Which clearly points out the absurdity of the law. There was a terrorist bombing down the street from my house in Seaside Park. Does that qualify as a "serious threat"?

I might have been a Doctor. When I was young in 1980’s, I decided I wanted to a be doctor so I took the entrance exam to go to Medical School. One of the questions on the exam asked us to rearrange the letters PNEIS into the name of an important human body part which is most useful when erect. Those who answered "spine" are doctors today. The rest of us are posting jokes on forums.

You're late to this discussion. The reason PK90 was referencing the NJSP FIU phone number is that back about 6 or 7 years ago someone asked the FIU if the "M1 Carbine" clones are legal if they don't say "M1 Carbine" on them. The answer the FIU gave was "yes", presumably based on the same standards that are used for "Avtomat Kalashnikov type". Well, Christie's AG at the time, Paula Dow, caught wind of this and 8 days or so later unilaterally declared all versions of the M1 Carbine illegal. So, unless you plan to sue the state for this inconsistent interpretation of the same law (and hopefully win), you're not going to be buying an M1 Carbine clone in NJ.

You need to get a copy of the police report You need to get a copy of the hospital record from Bergen Regional You need to get a copy of the original denial letter You need to know what the facts are from the other side in addition to your version If you flat out lied or non disclosed in reference to the incident you referenced this is not something that you can resolve on your own There are certain time periods for taking action subsequent to a denial and you need to be cognizant of that

FFS, any other conspiracy theories you want to come up with besides all the distributors abandoning NJ? Ruger and S&W pulling out of Cali is a GOOD thing, it is part of a fight that needs to be had or else we all end up with idiotic microstamps. I get really annoyed at gun owners in NJ playing the victim. Year after year we don't vote, or elect the same idiots, and when we have marches it is too cold or too busy or whatever. Then when legitimate business say we have had it dealing with your state's silliness we play the effing victim as if AIM or whoever wants to lose money and not sell products. Accept responsibility for the state of affairs in this state because only then we can start working on the problems.
  50. 1 point
You do know that it is not their job to make your life easier? Every time I see someone complaining about how some gun related retailer is abandoning gun owners, what I really hear is "we can't solve this by ourselves, other people should help us". I understand the sentiment, but it simply doesn't work that way. AIM doesn't owe me or you or NJ any favors. You can decide not to do business with them for them not going out of their way to support your cause, but ask yourself what can AIM do to fight 10-15 stages worth of stupid laws? Is that in their business charter? Think about it, how much harder does it really make it on you? You have to drive yourself to a FFL anyway to pick it up, what it does it make it SLIGHTLY more expensive, and even then this might not be true. Once you count in transfer fees, what is the price difference between ordering it from AIM or having your local dealer order it for you? Is there a shortage of lowers in NJ? Your local dealer can't order you one? What exactly has AIM made harder? If you REALLY think about it, whenever you order a lower from AIM you are probably harming local dealers and ourselves, because paying them $10 extra might make a bigger difference in the long term then boycotting AIM.
