No no no... Why would you use less than lethal? Or short shells? Less than Lethal should not even be considered for HD. Short shells can have issues as well. PCC less accurate than an AR? At HD Distances? Not at all. Even out to 50 yards...

For pure HD use, my first choice is an AR with appropriate ammo and knowledge. If using a shotgun Do not use LL for HD. As for range use - How about a pistol caliber AR? I have one that I assembled and takes any .40 Glock mags (27/23/22/35) same as my pistols. It runs like a top, is plenty accurate out past 50 yards, and is essentially an AR that I can shoot at any range and Steel comps.

i was going to let this go, but this question has completely dumbfounded me well from your own posts: and then we say that this is all a bad idea, predict whats going to come from this, you get pissy and now I cannot understand your surprise at all, we flat out told you what woulld happen you gave fuel to the other side and your mad that there is a spin? really thank you for fueling the other side. its like voting for Weinberg and sweeny and then going "oh, why are they taking my rights away?"

Going to start looking as soon as we finish my daughter's college visits this summer, would be too much to get a dog now when we are gallivanting all over the east coast. I will definitely be looking at rescues, but may also look at labs and Chesapeake Bay Retrievers as well, and of course will be looking at some lab & Chessie rescues. It is way too quiet around the house without a dog!

LaRue is having a smoking sale on a rifle kit. It comes with everything you need to build a high quality "Tier 1" rifle except the lower receiver. http://www.larue.com/larue-ultimate-ar-15-upper-kit?mc_cid=b28aced1b2&mc_eid=d86a48472f

Because wireless is "ok" fast when everything is just right (no interference, no competing networks from neighbors, not too many devices trying to move data at the same time, no leakly microwaves, no open arc from the bench grinder etc. etc. Wired is just plain fast all the time.

Lord, I hate Facebook with a passion, LOL. I might not have a choice though... it seems a lot of the ranges and 2A groups, etc. seem to be more active on there than on their own websites. I might have to finally surrender to Facebook. Thanks for info!

Yes, Wayne is there very often (most times I've been) and he's very friendly and "hands-on". I think they might have that posted on the way out of the range room. I've actually made it out and on the road and have had them call me! If you're on FaceBook, follow them there as they keep that very up to date and announce the womens get togethers there.

I always loved Sam Shepard --- such a multi-talented guy with an innate sense of "cool" about him. So sorry to hear of his passing! http://www.msn.com/en-us/movies/celebrity/hollywood-and-broadway-react-to-sam-shepards-death/ar-AApaAP6?li=BBmkt5R&ocid=spartandhp

Search online for discount codes for Dell Refurbed machines. I recently got a Dell i7 notebook with a 48% off coupon that cost me less than $250 and looks brand new. These are typically corporate leased machines and they replace any parts that are not in excellent condition.

Bhunted - I feel the same way. Had this in my cart a few times being such a great deal, but passed. No room in the safe anymore anyways. More money to go toward pimping out my tavor later on. I never shoot past 50 yard lol. How accurate does my rifle need to be at that laughable distance lol

You remind me of my ex wife. "Oh! Its on sale. We really don't need it but for $200 on sale for $150, its a steal." "We'll save $50 bux!" Forget the fact that we'd save $150 and not buy it at all. I have more than enough ARs now and while I think it is a great deal, I really don't need it. I'd rather buy something I really want. As best as I can recall, I did a bunch of online research and watched many You-Tube videos. Narrowed it down to either a 590 or an 870. Ultimately decided to go with the Mossberg. Prior to purchase, I had not held nor fired a shotgun in 35 years! Was concerned about recoil but took things slowly the first time to the range with it. A 12 ga is defintely a beast to shoot depending on the ammo you choose. Always brings a smile to my face. (Btw, I am 64 yo.)

Take a dremel to the threads and smooth it out, then hit it with some gun blue. Don't even need to do all the way around - just like the bottom.

You can get a pistol caliber AR... Macon Armory did that for me... .45 D/I upper. That is an older magazine adapter, which uses H&K USC magazines. Macon did a new magazine/adapter, which still fits a standard AR lower. They have 10 and 20 rounders, which are steel. I did ask Rudy (owner) about 15 rounders, but not following up with him since I'm moving out of state... have the adapter already, will order 20s when I move. Going that route, or a 9mm with magazine adapter allows you to convert the rifle over to 5.56mm or anything else that doesn't use a proprietary magazine well. If you want any info on CX4s or SUB-2000 Gen 2s, I do have one of each. I love pistol caliber carbines, just for the fun factor. Nevertheless, they can hold their own for home defense.

Why not a 9mm AR? I've been considering building one for HD. If it takes the same mags as your pistol, even better. If you already own a Beretta pistol, the storm makes more sense. If you own a Glock you can go with a dedicated Glock lower. I'm sure there are other lower options depending on what you currently own. Mag compatibility is a big plus. If you go with a shotgun, I've got a Knoxx Recoil Reducing stock on my 590 which makes it a very soft shooting gun, especially with Hornady Tap low recoil rounds.

50 yard zero gives you POI within 2.5" of the dot from 0 to about 250 yards. There are benefits of other zeros, so something that you need to research and see what works best for your needs. Aimpoints come with a battery. Think most common brands supply a battery (SIG does, for example). In regards to the second part, that is nice and all... but you should never just take one source of info. I say YouTube, because you can search and get 15 different reviews on it. Usually the more trusted ones are higher rated. While some are paid, you do get a couple that are honest. And definitely look into comments. Just one source of information... Forums are another... and not just this one. There are wealths of info on forums like AR15.com, M4Carbine.net, and a few others. While I do trust people on NJGF, I also trust people out of state. Do you get some people that talk out of their rear ends? Yea, but have to wade through the BS and find the truth... usually not hard when you research multiple sources.

They don't. They said it will come on the side in a little pouch so long as you order it as unassembled.

Aimpoint PROs are good to go... plenty of reviews out there on them. I have two, myself. One on an AR, other on a Tavor.

I'm currently shooting an older T3 Tac in .223 and it's a super fun gun to shoot. I am switching out the glass on it to a 6-24 HS-T Vortex in the next few days. Just a heads up, 223 can be competitive to 600 pretty easily and with good handloading practices, goes to 1k fairly well. Wind is a killer from what I hear but it's entirely doable.

They have plates that can be set on top of the regular bench in the 50 yard range. They are kind of L shapes and can be fitted either way around to suit left or right handed shooters. Just ask the RO to set it up for you. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk

Penny wise, pound foolish. A $600 Weber will outlast the 3 grills you buy every 2-3 years.
