I don’t think this could have been said any better and it definitely is about time someone said it. Hopefully, this will go out over EVERY computer in the U.S. and maybe, just maybe, these sports people will get the message of just how ridiculous they are to disrespect our flag, and how little what they do in sports compare to what our great military has done for this country.. NFL protesting the flag - POWERFUL!! Ret. Marine Col. Jeffery Powers wrote to the NFL commissioners the following: Commissioners, I’ve been a season pass holder at Yankee Stadium, Yale Bowl and the Giants Stadium. I missed the ’90-’91 season because I was with a battalion of Marines in Desert Storm. 14 of my wonderful Marines returned home with the American Flag draped across their lifeless bodies. My last conversation with one of them, Sgt. Garrett Mongrella was about how our Giants were going to the Super Bowl. He never got to see it. Many friends, Marines, and Special Forces Soldiers who worked with or for me through the years returned home with the American Flag draped over their coffins. Now I watch multi-millionaire athletes who never did anything in their lives but play a game, disrespect what brave Americans fought and died for. They are essentially spitting in the faces and on the graves of real men, men who have actually done something for this country besides playing with a ball and believing they’re something special! They’re not! My Marines and Soldiers were! You are complicit in this! You’ll fine players for large and small infractions but you lack the moral courage and respect for our nation and the fallen to put an immediate stop to this. Yes, I know, it’s their 1st Amendment right to behave in such a despicable manner. What would happen if they came out and disrespected you or the refs publicly? I observed a player getting a personal foul for twerking in the end zone after scoring. I guess that’s much worse than disrespecting the flag and our National Anthem. Hmmmmm, isn’t it his 1st Amendment right to express himself like an idiot in the end zone? Why is taunting not allowed yet taunting America is OK? You fine players for wearing 9-11 commemorative shoes yet you allow scum on the sidelines to sit, kneel or pump their pathetic fist in the air. They are so deprived with their multi-million dollar contracts for playing a freaking game! You condone it all by your refusal to act. You’re just as bad and disgusting as they are. I hope Americans boycott any sponsor who supports that rabble you call the NFL. I hope they turn off the TV when any team that allowed this disrespect to occur, without consequence, on the sidelines. I applaud those who have not. These players should be fined and never play football again on any team. Legends and heroes do NOT wear shoulder pads. They wear body armor and carry rifles They make minimum wage and spend months and years away from their families. They don’t do it for an hour on Sunday. They do it 24/7 often with lead, not footballs, coming in their direction. They watch their brothers carted off in pieces not on a gurney to get their knee iced. They don’t even have ice! Many don’t have legs or arms. Some wear blue and risk their lives daily on the streets of America. They wear fire helmets and go upstairs into the fire rather than down to safety. On 9-11, hundreds vanished. They are the heroes. I hope that your high paid protesting pretty boys and you look in that mirror when you shave tomorrow and see what you really are, legends in your own minds. You need to hit the road and take those worms with you! Time to change the channel. Powers originally sent his letter to former Florida congressman Allen West. West then posted the letter on his news website. As of last week, at least 18 NFL player had protested the anthem by either kneeling during the anthem or raising their fists, according to USA Today Sports. If you agree with what he said please pass this on.

Oh boy. Amando, you need to talk to someone in the know in your chain of command and possibly an attorney your agency uses. Don't make decisions that can affect your career and freedom based on info you receive online or from agencies outside your state that don't know you or your job.

Thats correct, don't mess with pretravel and be weary of the triggers that claim to reduce pretravel.

RIP Sailors. I think this is pretty cool! The final resting place of the USS Indianapolis has been found in the Philippine Sea at a depth of more than 18,000 feet. Some cool pictures at the links below. https://www.stripes.com/news/navy/wreckage-of-sunken-wwii-warship-uss-indianapolis-discovered-navy-announces-1.483641#.WZi8J_H3aEd http://www.navy.mil/submit/display.asp?story_id=102031

I'll try to find the survey... but they did one recently... and I do recall that the #1 reason was that viewers were turned off by the insertion of politics and what some interpret as anti-American displays into sports. Apparently, most viewers watch sports to relax.. not to get aggravated... who woulda thunk it? But, I do recall that all the commercial advertising was listed as reason #2 or 3. So, yeah, that seems to aggravate viewers also. Edit/Update: There's been several surveys actually. This article mentions one: http://www.miamiherald.com/sports/spt-columns-blogs/greg-cote/article112127422.html ..... a Seton Hall survey where more than half of fans thought players not standing for the anthem was the biggest cause of the ratings drop. And here's the biggest survey...the J.D. Power one which surveyed 9000+ fans: http://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/20171611/national-anthem-protests-no-1-reason-viewers-tuned-nfl-games .... It showed that of those viewers that watched fewer games, most (26%) cited the politics around the anthem as their primary reason for falling away from watching. So, it might not be HUGE overall percentages - but it's undoubtedly a factor in the ratings decline. People don't like to see millionaires acting bratty towards the country that gave them the opportunity to BE millionaires in the first place. I don't find that so hard to understand.

I have three Aimpoints... two PROs and a Comp M4s. All use the standard mounts, except the one PRO on my AR has a forward extension to push it out towards the Delta ring (height is exactly the same). The Aimpoint 3x magnifier (on a LaRue mount) works between them all. Even though a .45 AR doesn't need it due to the effective range, I still put it on to get a more accurate zero. But whether it is my AR or Tavor, can go right on the rail and used when needed (folding system is very easy to move). Definitely recommend the LaRue mount for the magnifier... opposed to that twist mount. Definitely doable to run behind an EOTech... just I don't like them. I originally was looking at the EXPS2, but eventually decided on my first PRO. Battery life was just too good to not go Aimpoint. With all the BS that came up with EOTech somewhat recently, I just stick by Aimpoint that much more. Does an EOTech work? I'm sure it does... but they aren't getting my money.

"Now I watch multi-millionaire athletes who never did anything in their lives but play a game" That basically sums up why I don't watch any sports. Waste of time.

I have a Eotech XPS3 & G33 3X magnifier set up and love it....best of both worlds And before anyone feels the need to enlighten me on eotech products I do not shoot in desert or Antarctic temps to ever worry about shift.

I use the exact setup you are describing and love it.. on my 14.5 in gun... eotech with 3x magnifier.. gives fast run and gun.. or a little magnification when shooting a little further..

I use a leatherwood 1x4 CMR red dot. At 1x it behaves just like any red dot. 2 eyes open. At 4x 1 eye. Adjust is just 1 lever. I would be concerned about damaging a swing out magnifier.

You can not have a Saiga shotgun with a thumbhole stock.. because technically as the assault weapon guidelines are written.. you can not even have a Saiga.. or ANY AK pattern gun for that matter.. because... Avtomat Kalashnikov type semi-automatic firearms are automatically considered assault weapons.. but even if you get past that part.. the ability to legally have a thumbhole stock rests solely on the nature of the stock.. since NJ does not define thumbhole stock.. but it does define pistol grip.. you need to confirm that the stock is not a pistol grip.. as I said above.. it is a pistol grip or not based on each individual stock... if it fits the following.. then it is in fact a pistol grip.. "Pistol grip" means a well defined handle, similar to that found on a handgun, that protrudes conspicuously beneath the action of the weapon, and which permits the firearm to be held and fired with one hand. you can obviously do whatever you want.. we can pretend that assault weapons are not defined as they are... we can pretend AKs are OK to have just because a lot of shops sell them.. I mean I had a Saiga when I lived in NJ.. but at the end of the day.. as the assault weapons parameters are written.. a Saiga is a no go.. as it is an AK type gun a Saiga 12 with a pistol grip is a no go - if the grip fits the definition of a pistol grip thats not my interpretation.. its how it is written..

No to both. But looks like the ACU is pretty easy to replace. Minus the cost of the part, of course.

Thanks! Glad to have you on board! I do my best not to be spammy We are a little over thirty days away, so I think you might be hearing more from us as everything firms up with speaker schedule, etc. And we are glad to have you man! I am really excited for this year as we are breaking out to have more non-firearms industry businesses and organizations wanting to participate. We have printing companies, not to mention mechanical and construction contractors, as sponsors and cigar shops exhibiting. Should be a lot of fun.

A sergeant I worked with joined the Navy at the tail end of WW2. His first ship after basic was the Indianapolis when it was making its trip to Tinian to deliver the bombs. He served in the Navy for a couple of years after the war. He was recalled for Korea.

My wife's grandfather served on the Indy. I forget if he was there when she went down. I don't think so. Glad they found her. Hopefully they leave her alone.

I do not like flat triggers. I personally do not see any advantages on any pistol other than maybe a 1911 style gun where the trigger is essentially a "button" that you push straight back vs the "switch" that pivots on a hinge at the top of the lever that most other pistols have. I tried a bunch of different flat triggers when researching a trigger to upgrade a Glock I was messing around with. I ended up going with the Overwatch Falx trigger which retains the original curve of the stock OEM triggers, but removes the pre-travel. That being said, the reason I tried so many flat triggers was that people I know that shoot well, seem to prefer them and I know a few guys that shoot flat triggers like the proverbial "House on fire". There is obviously something there that works, it just isn't for me.

Shooting a moving target within 35 feet with a handgun is the same as shooting a static target. There are 3 factors that go into this and they both have to do with you. The first one is being able to actually shoot your gun properly. Meaning all the fundamentals grip, stance, trigger control, no anticipation and pulling the shot down, sight picture... the second is being able to aquire the sight picture instantly. The third one, and this is the big one, getting over the mental part of it. I see so many shooters that shoot really well and when they get to the Texas star stage they get nervous, complain that they can't shoot it, proceed to throw 3 mags at it... meanwhile all their groups on cardboard are 3 inches or tighter and their times are acceptable. Out of all that the one that is hardest to work on is the second one, getting that gun on target instantly. The only way to get to that point is either to dry fire alot or shoot alot. I don't know what .22 you have but most .22 pistols, at least from what I've heard, should not be dry fired. Your best bet and most fun will be steel challenge matches. Steel challenge, also known as steel matches and static steel is your absolute best way to start. You will meet some of the nicest people at shooting matches (and some of the weirdest lol). There is absolutely no reason to be intimidated to go to a match. Almost every competitor stared out with SC and at almost every SC match there is a few brand new shooters. They are extremely new shooter freindly. You don't need a holster, just good safety glasses, ear plugs, 5 mags, gun, hat, lunch and about 200-250 rounds. Your probably less than an hour from Old Bridge Rifle and Pistol Club just make sure it's Jake brown road, if not you'll end up at the indoor one that's not near the outdoor range where the SC matches are. 2 things you need to know when you go, tell them you are new and don't uncase your gun till they tell you to. Get ready to have a whole lot of fun. ..
