there's also this...... A new hydrogen refueling station supplied by the Danish company H2 Logic will be installed just outside Oslo, Norway in summer 2011 as part of Norway’s “hydrogen highway“. Together with another planned Oslo hydrogen station in 2011, this means Norway will have one of the world’s densest hydrogen refueling networks. Hydrogen is produced by splitting water into hydrogen and oxygen. The hydrogen is compressed and stored in the vehicle. Most hydrogen vehicles react hydrogen with oxygen in a fuel cell to run electric motors. So effectively a fuel-cell vehicle is a form of electric vehicle. Pike Research predicts that 37 percent of the 2.8 million fuel-cell vehicles sold by 2020 will be in Western Europe, 36 percent will be in the Asia-Pacific region and just 25 percent will be in North America. Several major automakers have recently announced their intentions to get fuel-cell models into showrooms by 2015. https://venturebeat.com/2010/11/26/hydrogen-refueling-ramps-up-in-norway/ it powers the electric motor through the fuel cell. the hydrogen reacts with oxygen to create the power. so...yea. it runs essentially on water

Do we have any lawyers in this group? I have not slept at a Holiday Inn Express nor do I play a lawyer on TV, but it seems there is an easy answer here. Some 2A friendly lawyer should have lots of us signed on to a class action suit ready to roll if this happens. It seems a clear violation of our rights to make us surrender our property or force us to sell it out of state at fire sale prices. When the Government wants to take something by Eminent Domain they have to pay fair compensation for this. If we could force the state to do this for all magazine in the state the bill would likely be large enough that the public would be outraged at the state spending this money and force it to be killed. Even if that were not the case, at least we would get fair compensation for being screwed over.

So, in summary, IMHO, get your NYDL and keep your NJ FPID with your parent's residence where you occasionally stay. You can buy handguns, long guns, and receivers in either state. Sent from an undisclosed location via Tapatalk

You can buy long guns from a FFL in NJ with a non-resident NJ FID. You can't buy a handgun in a state you're not a resident of. That's Federal.

I had looked into those years ago when I had my laundromat. I ended up installing high eff condensing tank heaters as the instant hot water heaters typically are lower efficiency and are a maintenance headache. Also they are limited to a certain flow rate so if you have lots of hot water users on at once (shower, washing machine, dishwasher) you will tend to run out of hot water with them. I know people will say hot water tanks waste a lot of energy, but I have not found that to be the case with a good well insulated tank. My gas bill during the non-heating season typically runs under $20 a month, and that includes about $6 in base charges. Thus my total energy charge is about $15 a month and that includes hot water, cloths dryer, outside grill and range top. Thus my 100 gallon tank can't be wasting that much energy.

not for nuthin', but this is the kind of stuff we need to be seeing. it looks to have been stalled for a bit, but it looks like it's taking tiny forward steps. now, if only some powerful pro-2a organization would jump onboard and help these guys out. what the hell's the name of that national rifle association again? i'd bet they could help. and if they did, that'd be certain to get cynical people to sign up........ SAPPA dudes........THANKS MAN!!

I too wanted a .45, but not a 1911, and ended up getting a Springfield XDm .45 with the 5.25" barrel. Basically the same size as a 1911 and shoots great.

Another option is to replace it with a heatpump hotwater heater or they make add-on heatpump units. They require much less power and would easily run without totally over taxing a generator. If you are not familiar with them, a heatpump extracts heat from the surrounding air and dumps it into the water. They probably use 1/3rd to 1/4 the amount of electricity.

Thanks for the advice. I went there on Saturday and rented the Glock 41. I actually shot it pretty well, but I really didn't enjoy how it felt. I've watched and read plenty of reviews on the Glock 41 and some describe it as feeling "snappier" than the Glock 21. I think I understand what they mean by snappy. My trigger finger actually felt uncomfortable after each magazine. Now I'm leaning back towards the 1911. Lol. The point made about the NJ permits is dead on. You feel a pressure to get the 2nd or 3rd gun before time is up. I'm gonna keep shopping and try to get to the range within the next couple of weeks. If I find something I like, I'll buy it. If I have to let it expire and get some new permits, that's life. I definitely don't want to force it because of a permit expiration date. Thanks again everyone. More suggestions are welcome and I'll keep you posted when I FINALLY make up my mind.

Now there's a UNICORN if I ever saw one, lol! Whatcha talkin'-bout Willis? Sounds like a deliberate attempt at falsification of firearms documents? You lookin' to get a free room & board all-expenses paid trip to Rahway, lol? Resident or non-resident, a NJ state issued NJFPID card comes back to a RESIDENCE. For NJ this can't be a PO Box at some NY college dorm or LIE rest stop. It has to be "real" otherwise if you fill it out & make knowingly false statements you're guilty of a crime! Look, there's no rule on how many residences you can have in NJ, and there's no hard & fast strict interpretation of what comprises a residence or how many days in a row, month or year you must sleep THERE in order for it to be considered a residence. So if you currently live at Mommy & Daddy's and want to simplify your life, just leave a used bottle of aftershave & a toothbrush at their house in NJ (no matter where it might be now or where they move to in the future), and offer to pay a monthly bill addressed to YOU at the address where your parents live. Now you have mail addressed to you coming to a RESIDENCE. Now you've established a residence. And when you visit them, make sure to leave plenty of DNA evidence in your old room (or the new pull-out) Your current NJFPID card is good at your parent's current residence. If they move, have them bring all of your stuff with them (personal belongings that don't use gunpowder) & you go move yer things that go BANG. Then apply for a change of address NJFPID card for Mom & Dad's (and YOUR) new address at the local CLEO's office. Do so after having a terrible boating accident & drowning your current NJFPID card so you can still use it to buy hand gun ammo while the new card is being processed Nassau County starts on the Queens Co. border, so it's not like you're THAT far away, so visit your SECOND RESIDENCE often! Moms & Dads like that

10x. I guess youre more of a city type. The deer didnt eat them. The rubbed their antlers to get the felt off. It probably looks like they did it with vengence. If you have bucks and small trees that are upright. Its best to fence the new plants untill they get larger. The plants. Not the bucks.

Really capt14k? That's what you chose to do with your Saturday night, research mud to sling at a guy who's trying to help all of us? Maybe the case is legit, maybe it isn't, but I do know that SAPPA is trying to help the NJ RKBA cause. If you're not going to support them, at least leave them alone.

Nick, this Harbor Freight generator is highly rated by Consumer Reports. Get a battery and wheel kit and it will be more portable and have electric start. Right now it's on sale for $529 with the coupon. That's about as low as it goes for this one. If anyone needs the coupon, PM me with your email address and I will send it to you. Predator Generator

Hi TripleD, I am waiting on some permits right now so I know how all the options can be overwhelming I like the 1911 option. You can get one in 45 and get a 22lr upper for it and you can practice with cheaper 22 or teach a friend easier then with 45. I do that with my 1911 and my sig p220. The other option I can think of is a S&W 617 or Ruger GP100 22lr. I have a 617 and like it a lot. Haven't tried the gp100 22 but I have a GP100 MC 357 and it's pretty sweet. Since you ordered a S&W 686, the 617 is very similar in weight, trigger pull and feel out of the box so if you were looking for a nice, very accurate 22 that doubles as a cheaper practice gun for your 686, that'd be a nice choice. I actually ordered a S&W Victory for the first permit as a fun range gun and maybe for 22 bullseye if I like it enough but still deciding on what to do with the other permits. I think this permit thing backfired on NJ, it almost forces you to get more handguns just because if you go through the trouble to get the permits, you feel obligated to get as many as you can and then have to use them LOL Let us know what you decide. There are a ton of great guns out there to choose from. P.S. just noticed you decided on a Glock. Gen 5 just came out so you might want to take a look at those. Not sure if there will be any deals on gen 4 models.
