What a crock. The school superintendent is a moron. From his own comments in the article: "several of the students seated in that section were visibly intoxicated." "Visibly intoxicated" is probable cause to test them, NOT everyone sitting in that section.

This will have to land in the 1a lounge for my full, unvarnished opinion. Another scummy public employee making stupid decisions without consequences. Let the 70 parents sue and win $70 million. What does he care? Taxes go up to cover the mess, it does not cost him a dime or a wink of sleep and the stupidity continues. At least now I found a good weekend hobby. I'm getting one of those water balloon launchers and I am going to shoot empty beer cans over the fences into the crowd at high school football games.

Im sure there are good places. I only use Mark at L&M Precision in South Carolina. Tried a few other places and it always been a disaster. ATEi is excellent as well.

Keep in mind the USVI is run by Democrats. VI Democrats, yes but no different than the mainland. They do have very strict gun laws. They also have a homicide rate that's usually about ten times the national average and roughly twice as high as Chicago.
  6. 2 points
Nope, they just threatened everyone in the section and offered them a choice of "voluntary" testing or a five day suspension and presumed guilt.

Who the fuck can watch a football game sober. The school is promoting drinking by organizing that shit.

They didn't test the parents too?

Over reaction for a crack pipe, even for a gun. Hell, if a dead body rolled out, .....

Just picked up this Ruger Blackhawk single action .357 61/2" BBL. Serial #62323. 3 screw without the conversion done to it. Original receipt makes it out to be a 1965 model. Does anyone have more info on this model? Haven't shot it yet but feels great. Oh and in 1965 it retailed for $87.50. My truck takes more than that to fill today!

I agree, also if you want to spend a few extra bucks put in an external quick disconnect gas fitting and a manual transfer switch with a dedicated inlet for the generator.

That is your opinion and you are entitled to it. For me, having to pick up brass diminishes the enjoyment of shooting, plain and simple. Everyone has their own reasons, this is mine.

You going to stay in the home long enough the costs are worth it to you? Portable generators can go in your truck to the next home. That is probably your biggest question on one. Not likely going to be able to get one installed/permitted before Irma gets here. Going to likely need a survey, pressure test the gas line (plumbing), and then electrical inspection. If you do sell the home, something to consider if you do it without a permit... it isn't a water heater that every other house usually has. Also, that generator will run once a month to make sure it is working. You need to do maintenance on it, just like you would on a portable one.

Ruger makes a gun and transfers it to Davidsons. Dealer gets it and sells it to Joe Blow. Joe sells it to Jane Doe. Joe keeps no record of the sale. Trace Chain is broken.

WTF? This is a bad move. People will not be able to protect themselves when they most need protection. Link to story

I had to sign as adult when a nephew had to get a urine test done for EMT. A nurse refused to draw blood from patient without his consent and its national news, yet hospital(s) got 10s of these kids and performed tests without asking questions ? I am against lawsuits, but I sure hope parents find some good lawyers and sue the heck out of every person, company and organization and town involved.

Works 99.99% of the time with the way I insert my mags (energetically). Some people see it as a problem but I don't, I got used to it happening with my M&P and like how quick it makes reloads. It happens quite a bit more often with the CZ vs the M&P because of the way the slide stop interfaces with the bolt face as opposed to a small notch on the slide (its enormous in comparison so its also heavier and seems to drop easier). Its easy enough to ride the slide stop while inserting the magazine to make it closer to 99.99999%. I did have some issues with the first ~150 rounds where the top round in the magazine would nosedive into the feeding ramp on an auto battery, but that has resolved itself and i'm going to chalk that up to magazines that needed to be broken in.

Yep. Certainly heavier than normal, especially compared to a Glock or 1911. I personally don't have any issues releasing it quickly, every student I've handed it to has had a hard time doing so, to the point where I usually tell them to use their off-hand thumb to press it in fully. Its worn in dramatically since I got it an expect it to continue to wear in further but I doubt it'll ever be considered light. It's likely due to the heavy magazine springs being used and the design of the mechanism itself (which is really novel by the way). I've seem some people disassemble and polish the V-notch, which I may look into doing. I also know some people that have replaced the spring with a Glock spring, but I've seen some issues with that approach so, especially considering I don't have any issues, i'm unlikely to try that.

Kaiser. 3 gun. Take up lou's offer to call him. You can def do 3 gun with what you have. Just be careful. Addictions to this sport can be fast and expensive. But well worth it. If you liked that 22 match. Youll crap yourself at a 3 gun. You should probably do a few idpa or uspsa matches first to get more familiar with how these matches are run. Good luck.

@T Bill...I'm not familiar with PA's law... but unless I'm totally misunderstanding the article, Florida's law sounds like it EXPANDS (not restricts) gun owner rights during the emergency. This law makes it LEGAL to have a concealed carry firearm (even if you lack the CC permit which would normally be required) while you're making your exodus during a mandatory evacuation.

I am mostly ready for whatever comes our way. Have been so since after Hurricane Sandy. Generators tested monthly, minimum of 10 gals gas on hand, emergency food(Wise), first aid supplies, flashlights, and two sets of batteries for every flashlight, smoke detector, and co detector in the house, and so on.... If it becomes a threat, I just need to get more gas, food, water, etc. Btw, for those of you with garages that are part of your house, it is advisable to have a means to reinforce your garage door. A breach of your door due to high winds may pose a serious risk to the integrity of your house structure. I originally learned of this from a goverment website. At the time of Hurricane Irene I purchased two 8' lengths of angled aluminum which I bolted vertically to the inside of the door. Made it much more solid. Important to bear in mind that if you do this, the garage will no longer be an emergency exit.
