Amazing to see that this came from the Washington Post. http://www.msn.com/en-us/news/opinion/opinion-i-used-to-think-gun-control-was-the-answer-my-research-told-me-otherwise/ar-AAsRR7y?li=BBnb7Kz Adios, Pizza Bob

I ordered mine from Spikes in color fill. The SnowFlake Lower Receiver with the markings: Safe Space, Triggered, Full Libturd. The color fill version is a Rainbow Unicorn--awesome. You can always count on Spikes for something fun. Buy one even if you don't want or ever plan to build an AR. This may be better than my ghost gun receiver with .30 cal clip. https://www.spikestactical.com/collections/stripped-lowers/products/snowflake-lower?variant=93291479063

NO. do it right. if you don't do the extra degrees they will not have the correct clamping force. i'm not trying to be a dick....but.....do it right or don't do it. brakes aren't something to experiment with.

Cabela's in Delaware isn't a bad ride. My wife and I went there last year to get her a shotgun for trap. The gentleman at the counter spent a solid 45 minutes with her and showed just about everything on the wall. I walk away and let her make her own decision. She ended u with a 28 gauge O/U that I never would of thought of. She loves the gun. The important thing is to let her decide on her gun.

It took me nearly three years to convince my wife that guns are not the problem, but that gun violence is just one manifestation of a deeper, far more troubling, epidemic of a broader social malady. Since the 1960's, the left has been engineering a society where the selfish wants of the individual are put over the overall health and happiness of the society. Impulsiveness is encouraged, family values are scorned, lewdness has become protected, the value of life diminished, violence glorified in every corner of media, especially music, disrespect for authority promoted by the liberal left. The mantra of the left is: "If it makes you feel good, do it. If there are consequences, fight American tradition to make it so there are no consequences .". The left has effectively done away with the concept of shame.

Center mass or a 6 o'clock hold are only preferences. The Garand can be sighted in either way. You definitely have to get it sighted at a shorter than 200 yard distance and work your way out as well.

Sorry I'm a bit late to the party on replying. I attended until about 1pm with a friend (I had a bachelor party to attend to, which did involve a range trip). The panels were of mixed quality, of what I saw. The best ones I attended were the NJ State Police rep and the community building panel. I thought both were too short. The identity theft protection one was real bad, boring, and was quite a bit of a sales pitch. I wish I could have stayed longer to see some of the other speakers later in the day. I attended last year's as well, and thought the talks were on average better. I remember them being longer and more detailed. If I can, I'll be attending next year as well. I'd love for there to be fewer talks, focusing on the higher quality ones. Thanks, @John Willett for putting this on!

Hi everyone I’m looking to find a shotgun that fits and feels right for my significant other to use while we clay shoot .... I don’t really know where to go that would have a good selection and knowledgeable staff to help me with this ... anyone have any suggestion?

Griffin and Howe up in Andover it's well worth the ride. They will fit the shotgun to the shooter. They are not cheap but you definitely get more than what you pay for.

Eugene Salomon's Shooter Supply in Farmingdale. His business revolves around Trap. The inventory always seems sparse when you are in the "show room" and I use that term loosely, but he always has what you need. Gene is an institution in Trap shooting. It would be worth your while to give him a call. His shop is open Wed and Fri 6:30p-9:00p and Sun 1:00p to 4:00p (732) 938-2189.

If your significant other is a woman (can't tell from your name/post, but I'm assuming!), there really is a tremendous amount of options coming out on the market. It might pay for you to both do a little research even before you shop. These models (discussed in articles below) may or may not fit her needs... but I think you can glean from the articles what some of the common features of these ladies' shotguns are.... Compared to the "average man" that most shotguns are actually designed for, the average woman will have shorter arms, shorter fingers, a longer neck, and be far more likely to have cross-dominant vision. So, a lot of these guns have features to account for all of that (and the more expensive ones seem to be highly adjustable to get more of a customized fit). Happy shopping! http://dailycaller.com/2014/10/02/welcome-to-the-golden-age-of-shotguns-for-women/3/ http://www.shootingindustry.com/women-continue-to-benefit-from-shotguns-designed-just-for-them/ http://www.range365.com/six-new-shotguns-for-women BTW, if you didn't know, there are also NJGF "shotgun shootouts" held several times a year at the Clinton, NJ Wildlife Mgmt Area - would be a good opportunity for her to handle different shotguns and get an idea of what features she likes. I don't think there were any specific ladies models at the last one, but there were plenty of 20 gauge models... and someone had a youth model as well (another option, depending on your SO's size) that featured a shorter distance to the trigger, good for a small-framed shooter. Edit: let me clarify... I'm a total newbie myself! Only shot a shotgun ONCE. So, I profess no expertise. But I am, however, a world-class googler! LOL.

Wow, that was surprising... maybe the author reached those conclusions because she's also a statistician by training...? They tend to "follow the data" to its logical conclusions. Whereas most journalists these days (IMO) see themselves more as social justice warriors... and therefore see what they want to see.

GSP exit 58 puts it about an hour away from you. Worth the trip, IMHO. The staff there is excellent. I do not know who is the trap gun person, but the selection is impressive. http://www.shootersnj.com

You decide if its 6 o'clock or point of impact as others have said. IMO 6 o'clock is better for target (competition) shooting and POI is better for combat shooting. Just my preference, YMMV. If you want the sight drum to agree with your zero, zero at any known distance, say 200 yds, with M2 Ball. Use either POI or 6 o'clock. Dont pay attention to what the sight drum says while you're doing this. M1 sights are calibrated to move POI 1" at 100 yds. Once you have that 200 yd zero, rotate the sight drum down and count the clicks. This is insurance so you know where you're supposed to be at 200 yds. Once you've done this, elevate the sight to your 200 yd zero. Now loosen the screw in the center of the sight drum so it rotates freely and set it at 200 yd. Tighten it back down and lower the sight to ensure you are at the same number of clicks you counted before. If its the same number of clicks, rotate drum the same number of clicks up and the sight drum should say 200 yds. This is the mechanical zero Nickjc is talking about. If you are low and to the right and on paper at 200 yds you can start from there. You need to make a windage adjustment to the left. Same as elevation, 1" per click. If you zero for 6 o'clock on an 8" bullseye, 4 clicks down should give you POI. If you zero for POI, 4 clicks up will give you a 6 o'clock. Most use a 3 rd group to zero. Some use an 8 rd group with a M1. I use a 4 rd group. As the barrel heats up, groups may drift. As the range increases groups may drift to the left or right depending on the direction of the twist. I'm talking maybe 5-600 yds or more for that. I don"t generally shoot that far but have had to make those corrections for artillery.

I'm very glad it got addressed. Thank you for allowing that to get brought to the open forum. I wish the actual people involved could have responded as well. Of course! Part of our mission is about bringing members of the community together. It certainly would have made for more of an exchange. Those that lobbed those bombs have been invited numerous times over the years. However, they clearly indicated that they would need to have the conference operate "under" their "banner" to "protect their brand". The conference is specifically not owned by any group so that all groups might be encouraged to participate. Their lack of participation has been their choice, no one else's.

"Persons may lawfully possess weapons in their homes, even if possession of those same weapons may not be manifestly appropriate outside the home." Dont think so. Unless someone show me otherwise, the topic of "possession outside the home" was neither at issue nor the panel was asked to rule / comment on. That little nugget was slipped in, on purpose. Judge should have kept his little finger to the question at hand.

Far beyond your skill set. Find someone to design one for you and see what is really involved, You will be shocked.
