A well-done video (IMO) just published to YouTube yesterday by journalist/author, Katie Pavlich. Lays out a REALLY compelling case (though obvious to most of us, I'm sure) for guns as the Great Equalizer, especially for women. I like to post things like this in the hopes that people will share the links, helping to increases the number of views.

Just got a email back from the super : There will be no other update after the comment period ends. Any comments received after the end date will not be included in the proposal. After the period ends, the comments will be considered and may or may not affect the final adoption of the new rule. It is not legal to own a stun gun until AFTER the final rule has been adopted. i also asked for clarification of when the final adoption should be excepted

Nope, stock goes in strong hand side pants pocket. But only denims or ripstop. Others will tear and rip your pants off in which will leave everyone crying in laughter.

As a defensive firearm, I don't think it would be necessary or wise to try at that distance. I am sure it would be accurate enough for a target within the confines of one's home, or one close enough to be a threat. Sent from an undisclosed location via Tapatalk

If anybody gets a bloody nose from this they are holding it wrong. Watch the Thunder Ranch video for this gun. Both arms full extended, not near your face. Use it that way and you might say “aahhhh I see now...”

You think that is fair to the vendors here? Your best bet is get the NJSP to send you a copy. Don't expect vendors here to support using outside online vendors.

We're looking in the Hollis area. Already have family in the Boston area but no way would I consider living in MA. Hollis is right over the border so best of both worlds. And the company I work for is in Portsmouth. Not exactly close, but at least it's in the same state...

Adam, I'll give it a whirl if somebody brings one to the shoot, lol! I'd do like what Hickok .45 did to his Shockwave: 1. Grip Tape to stop his webbing between thumb & index finger from hitting safety switch. 2. Covering the phillips head screws in the fore end with some black electrical tape. More user-friendly. This tool is best pointed while holding in front of you, as the video demonstrates. Shooting from the hip can make you miss because your FEET position determine where the rounds/shot wind-up. It's a technique that requires lots of practice to get it right, and most shooters won't dedicate the time to get it RIGHT. Firing a scattergun from the right hip lends itself to missing by having the pattern go wide to the left. The exact opposite happens for southpaws. This is because the weak hand has to be uncomfortably elongated to keep muzzle pointed strait when standing squared-up to the intended target. For this reason, learning where/how to place your feet so that your NATURAL point is in front of you is necessary. Guys like me with short arms & big guts especially Gimmie some Gun Club Lite (2 3/4 Dram, marked for 1145 fps) & I could mess with some clays. High brass buckshot or slugs is a two-hand scenario for me and I doubt that I'd want to shoot it all day long.

ain't no way i'd be looking to go farther north.......too much colder in the winters. no way for florida for me, unless it's in a relatively undeveloped area in the pan handle. seems to me most of florida is either over developed, or on the fast track to being such. i keep looking to one of the carolinas or virginia......or possibly northeastern texas......

Me too. We're looking around the conway area, not in conway but around that area. Aka Mt. Washington valley area. Portland Maine is a little over an hour away.

I've already started looking for property in New Hampshire. The wife is retired already and I work remotely, so as long as I can get to an airport I'm good. My daughter gets married in NJ May 2018, so after that we're gone. Only concern I have is selling my house and investment properties. This state is quickly becoming ungovernable. I don't see it getting any better.

Steve, you need to make a instructional video for this technique. I have professional experience in video production and would gladly do this for you for free.

I saw that video, and thought it was really good. Did they say that in Great Britain, the model anti-gunners love to point to, the rape rate is three times what it is here?

My wife and I traveled to the Grand Tetons and Yellowstone last week.. It's always nice to get a taste of what's it's like to be in Free America, if only for a week and a half. We flew out of Newark to Salt Lake City on Delta. I had heard that Delta has made a practice of harassing travelers with firearms since the incident in Fort Lauderdale last year, where a guy retrieved his checked firearm, loaded up, and started shooting people. You can read more about it here: http://dryfiretrainingcards.com/blog/deltas-silly-new-rules-flying-guns/ I was pleasantly surprised that the baggage agent just had me fill out the declaration card, had me open my suitcase to ensure that my gun cased was locked and to place the card, and then just put my bag on the belt, and sent us on our way. Turns out he was slacking, because on the return trip the agent put my bag aside, and called over a TSA agent who proceeded to go through my entire suitcase with me watching. Upon our arrival back in Newark, I had to go to the baggage desk to claim my suitcase, which had a big sticker on it to say it needed special handling, and was locked shut with a thick zip-tie. I believe the most difficult part of staying on the right side of the law while carrying is not just knowing in which states one can carry. That's pretty easy to look up. It's some of the nuances that get trickier. For instance, one can carry in national parks if one is allowed to carry in the state the park is in. This can be challenging, as some parks span multiple states. Moreover, even if one can carry in a particular park, the firearm cannot be brought into government buildings, like visitor information centers, hotels, restaurants, and even gift shops. Outside the parks, another sticky situation is bars and restaurants. In some states, no weapons are allowed in establishments that serve alcohol. In others, they are not allowed in the section that is primarily a bar, but are OK in the area that primarily serves food. In some states, CCW in bars is OK, but one cannot consume any alcohol. In other places, alcohol consumption is OK, provided one is below the legal limit. I brought along my Springfield XD 9 mm subcompact, with two mags, a 25 round box of Hornady Critical Defense, and three holsters: an IWB for 4:00/kidney carry, an IWB for appendix carry, and an OWB. My go-to position is the first one I mentioned, because I find that it conceals well for me, but still allows easy access to my firearm. The problem I have found is that it gets uncomfortable when I'm driving for a long time, as I did on this trip. I tried the appendix carry, but found that also got uncomfortable, digging into my thigh when I was on the road for hours. So I settled on OWB at 3:00, which was comfortable driving. I don't think it was as well concealed as the others, but it seemed to work out OK with the heavy clothing we needed for the cold temperatures while we were out there. I made it a point to always keep an extra holster in the console of the car to stow my gun, as we were frequently going in and out of the government buildings mentioned above. In general, the whole thing worked out well. My wife has been more accepting of my concealed carry lifestyle on the road, which she viewed as somewhat quirky just a few years ago. I had no delusions that my 9 mm handgun would protect us against some of the wildlife out there, but it was better than nothing, and certainly provided protection against two-legged predators. While we were staying outside the park in the town of West Yellowstone, I discovered a gun range literally around the block from our hotel, which rented full auto weapons. Having always wanted to see what that was like, I couldn't pass up an opportunity like that. So on the last morning we were there, I strolled over and tried some out. Since this has already gotten pretty long (AVB range), I'll post the details of my full auto experience on another thread.

Thanks for sharing. October is Domestic Violence Month. Unfortunately, its also a month when certain groups take the opportunity (and money) to spread lies, fear and victimhood instead of empowerment, standing up, taking charge of life. I wish someone made a video geared towards women in the context of Domestic Violence and empowerment of women with exercise of 2A.

Lots of pro gun control people are of that opinion because they project their own emotional unsuitability onto others. They know they shouldn't be trusted with a gun, but they refuse to admit that they might not be the most capable and competent person in the room.

But we only have two choices: (1) make Gottleib rich and win some 2A ground in the courts or (2) Keep Gottleib poor and don't win that ground in the courts. I don't have a third option so I'm going to continue to contribute.

While I agree (to some extent) with the anti-Roubian sentiment, lets not forget that his organization takes completely different approach. Roubian takes head on approach with picketing, video recordings, silly interviews etc. He calls them direct. ANJRPC and some other organizations will never have as much balls (for lack of better term) as NJ2AS. And No, ANJRPC will never lend resources or contacts to someone like NJ2AS or SAPPA. They consider themselves to be too polished. We wouldn't be in this sad situation if any one particular approach worked. In my humble opinion, we need Roubians and SAPPAs as much as we need ANJRPC. So I urge everyone to think before you cancel membership. I am going to go sit in the corner now. Disclaimer: I never met Roubian, not a member and do not own stocks in any of these companies :-)

Awww... I'm sorry to hear that! But it does sound like it's a controllable condition and your pup can live an active life. Have no direct experience myself, but this looks like an interesting website: http://www.addisondogs.com/addisons/ Hmmm... they even have a "support group" - so you could probably get lots of answers there from other pet owners. Good luck!
