Comcast/Xfinity here. Can’t say I’ve noticed any drops or other problems. Biggest complaint is the cost

We are going to smoke a brisket for Christmas dinner. I’ll post the process for that too. Ya’ll will see how really easy it is to turn out decent bbq. It ain’t redneck rocket science!

Going to my daughter's for Thanksgiving. My contribution to the meal is my bacon wrapped asparagus. For those who are health conscious I make some with 4 stalks of asparagus. I had some asparagus left over so I decided to make some...ready for this...pork roll wrapped asparagus! Not to raise any further arguments I made it with Case's not Taylor so it is pork roll. Happy Thanksgiving to all.

Yep. I've got Grandma's (or maybe Great-Grandma's) cast iron. Griswold skillets and a dutch oven. A good bit over 100 years old. Which means they're almost broken in.

You do not send any paperwork to ATF or any other party for long guns in NJ. As far as ATF / Feds is considered, you took possession of those rifles legally (per their own instructions). Remember, Form 4473 clearly says YOU cannot gift the firearms to an otherwise prohibited person and you cannot gift in exchange for money, services etc. At the time of this surprise reveal, have your parents fill the NJ Certificate Of Eligibility (link below), two per each firearm. You keep one copy of each and your parent keeps a copy. Also remember that when you gift the long gun, you are gifting to specific parent and thats who should fill out the COE. And you are done. http://www.state.nj.us/njsp/info/pdf/firearms/sp-634.pdf IANAL. BTW, Dont let anyone tell you all of this is a loophole. Its not. Its the law and good number of firearms change hands in face to face transactions between law abiding citizens who are not prohibited from owning and possessing firearms. I strongly suggest you pick a NJ FFL who is active on these forums. Ask for recommendations if you need help finding one.

Purists say yes and all the top BBQ pit masters use wood or pellet burning smokers so that tells me a lot. I personally like charcoal/wood better then electric or propane for smoking but a lot of that is philosophy. When I am smoking stuff it forces me to slow down and not be doing a hundred things at once. Every hour or two drop a smoke bomb, drop in a few briquettes of charcoal when it's getting low, maintain the temps, etc. I have to be aware of what I am doing. Not necessarily constantly on top of it like grilling fish or something but just aware. I use propane when I just need to get stuff done, grilling steak or chicken for dinner after work or something. Charcoal/Wood cooking is just more relaxing to me. Sit on the deck, have a beer, play guitar, check on the temps, drop some charcoal, have another beer. Repeat until the food is ready. -Jim

Me either!! Now that the brine has cooled a bit, I put the turkey into a food safe 5 gallon bucket (available at your local Lowe’s store), along with the brine, 10lbs of ice, and cold water. Snap the lid on, and let it soak in the brine solution for at least 1 hour per pound of bird. We have a 23lb turkey, but we’ll let it soak for about 36 hours. I check the ice every 6-8 hours and refill as required. Now, we drink more wine, and we wait. Because I’m a Star Wars geek...

Never tried the cheese but have done the jalapeño. I made jalapeño cornbread last week for my tailgate. Smoked a pork butt, pulled it real nice. Smoked pulled pork on cornbread is one of my favorites. Gonna have to try the MJ cheese though. Thanks for the tip.

When I make cornbread to go with chili, I’ll finely dice some jalapeños and add a bit of shredded Monterey Jack cheese. Damn, now I want chili and cornbread.

Just reading this today. Busy moving my son & dil to their new home. Out of internet for days at a time. Your idea of a joint statement is a good one. I will kick it up to ANJRPC, NRA-ILA & NRA and reach-out to my friends from the former NJ2AS Leadership Team. I can't make any promises. I'm just one cog in a very big gear. As tomorrow is Thanksgiving, I'll start the Statement Request on Friday. Have a great Thanksgiving!

The martini sounds much too sweet for my tastes... I'm more of a dirty martini fan, myself. But, I do like a sweet after-dinner drink (it's like dessert in a glass!) and that espresso sounds divine! I'll make that up.... for myself anyway!

Well..... I am quite excited. I guy emailed me last year that he was writing a book about muscle cars and was interested in photos of my GTO. So I emailed him quite a few photos, and then pretty much forgot about it, thinking it was either a joke, or I didnt make the cut. He emailed me tonight, and said my car made the book. So I ran out to Barnes and Noble and bought it..... I am pretty stoked... https://www.amazon.com/Detroit-Muscle-Factory-Lightweights-Purpose-Built/dp/161325301X/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1510885602&sr=8-1&keywords=detroit+muscle

Yeah there is a million threads online about home made case lube and I never cared to try it until I realized it was going to take me at least 4 more cans for this winters loading season. At $10 or more a can that was to much, I could buy about 800 .223 heads for that much. Well after watching a few videos and reading a few threads I figured I'll give it a shot, whats the worst that could happen, I waste $15... You'll need some liquid lanolin, here is the one I used https://www.amazon.com/Home-Health-Liquid-Lanolin-Ounce/dp/B0014AWF0S/ref=sr_1_3_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1511369620&sr=8-3&keywords=liquid%2Blanolin&th=1 Some 99% isopropyl alcohol, here is the one I used https://www.amazon.com/Swan-Percent-Isopropyl-Antiseptic-Solution/dp/B00ZCCYTWG/ref=sr_1_3_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1511369769&sr=8-3&keywords=99%%2Bisopropyl%2Balcohol&th=1 And a spray bottle, Walmart has some really nice ones by the irons for 88 cents. According to the internet your supposed to mix it in a 1:10 ratio and it turns out the internet was right. I simply poured 10 oz of alcohol in the bottle Yeas its low now I been using it The lanolin being 4 oz. I took my caliper, measured the liquid in the bottle, divided it by 4 and put some marks on the bottle Shake it up and use it. Let me tell you that it works better than 1 shot and you use less. Just 1 or 2 shots from that spray bottle and they are butter smooth. It really goes a long way I probably have a lifetime supply now. 2 tricks, 1. You have to let the alcohol evaporate so wait a couple minuets before resizing. 2. If you hate the smell of alcohol there is some liquid smelley stuff in the candle isle at walmart, I got the one that smells like oranges, just add some in there and your smelly old reloading room will be like a flower shop.

I'm also a fan of the Weber Smokey Mountain Cooker. They have quite a fan base online. I've got the 18", which is their mid-sized version. Just big enough to smoke a turkey of up to 14=16 lbs. Using both racks, you could smoke 6 racks of ribs at a time, and it's fairly economical of charcoal/smoke wood. Plan to add a good remote reading thermometer, both for greater accuracy, and so that you can keep an eye on the smoker and the meat temps from wherever you happen to be.

Here I am! I’ve used several types of smokers/cookers over the years, but the one I get the best and most consistent results from is the Pit Barrel Cooker. https://www.pitbarrelcooker.com/ It’s easy to use...set it and forget it, no fooling with temperature. Almost idiot proof (which is why I use it). Be sure to get the poultry hangars if you plan on doing chicken/turkey on it. We are cooking our thanksgiving turkey tomorrow, so if you’ll tune into the ‘Displaced Texan’s smoked meat’ thread, I’ll walk you through what I do.

I'm a big fan of the Weber Smokey Mountain. I have several in 18" and one 22". The 18 is a good size for most. There is an excellent website dedicated to methods and recipes: http://virtualweberbullet.com I have competed in KCBS sanctioned matches with nothing but WSMs and have placed multiple times. Look up the "minion method" for an easy way to smoke something over a long period of time. Once you lock in the temperature you are good to go and leave it unattended, for the most part. If you're willing to spend a little more (above $500) you're into Green Egg and/or Pellet smoker territory. I have a friend with a Rec Tec who really likes it and produces some amazing stuff on it.

Ooooohh, man... this news today made me sooo sad! To say David Cassisdy was my first "crush" would be a gross understatement to the epic "one for the ages" love that I felt for him. (Stop rolling your eyes...! No snark allowed when I'm paying homage to my David). I always wondered why my older brother put up with me blasting this album (particularly this song, which I played to death)... I found out years later it was because HE was an admirer of Susan Dey. Something for everyone in that Partridge Family, I guess....! RIP, David.

Ray Ray I have the master built sportsman elite . Its electric and does and great job ive only used it for venison snack sticks and jerky so far one thing I did find out is carful on how much wood chips you put in a hand full is good 3 um not the best idea LOL I was tossed between the propane and electric and decided on electric since I don't have to worry if the tank will run out.

Honestly they all suck to deal with , every time I call I get someone I cannot understand , for what I pay Verizon for phone and internet and Comcast for my tv it would be cheaper to get the Comcast bundle , I just wanted to see how others like it since you have to sign a 2yr agreement.

I don';t think these cases are listened to or won based upon strategy. There are a number of justices that don't want to accept the second amendment for what it is: an essential part of the bill of rights. Until they are replaced these cases will not be heard. And if there is a good chance of losing we are better off not having them heard. As with most things with SCOTUS we are going to have to be very patient. Trump's biggest achievement so far has been his federal bench appointments. The numbers far exceed previous presidents. And for that to continue we need McConnell and a majority in the senate. By the end of hist first term he may have appointed anywhere from 30% to 50% of the judiciary. That will ge HUGE.

@ChrisJM981 Of course! They want EVERY SEMI AUTO WEAPON BANNED. then they will go after the bolts, pumps etc. This is not about safety this is about the wholesale disarmament of a state and nation. I have been having an interesting conversation with someone on something I knew - the right of the people to keep and bear arms is NOT codified in the NJ state constitution - what does that tell you? HAVE a plan .......nuff said.

Family traditions are often manifest through recipes . Historically, holidays are the few times of the year time the whole family, near and far, gathers and celebrates. The words festival and feast are very closely related. It is only through the gathering and the festival that we can maintain the continuity of tradition. It's kinda funny, I'm the only boy out of seven children and I'm the only one who knows most of my family recipes, both Sicilian and Irish. I find it somewhat tragic when family traditions die out with passing generations. I applaud you for carrying on the family tradition. I believe It's important we all have a tangible link to our past.

This will be my first Thanksgiving off in a long time (Yay promotion!). We are going to my Mom and Dad's for dinner. I'm going over early so she can teach me how to do everything. She is one hell of a cook but her health is on a rapidly accelerating decline. I want to make dinner for her and Dad next year at my house - because without some divine intervention, she won't be able to.

My money is going to whomever presents the best plan to sue and win, and initiates the plan. Then, and only then, will they get my money. I have about 20 years of NRA dues not paid that I'd be willing donate but they have to actually do it, not just talk about doing it. Show me what ya got and I'll show you the money.
