If you feel your getting value from watching Yeager, I have Saddam's AK id like to sell you for $10,000. Its a good deal, honest!

Fuck Yeager. There are plenty of better YouTube channels to watch than his tactical band camp garbage. Keep in mind a lot of big names - especially prior military - stopped making videos because ISIS and other terror orgs were also using them to train their people. Try searching for videos by/featuring: Frank Proctor Kyle Lamb/Viking Tactics Kyle Defoor Jeff Gonzales/Trident Concepts Primary & Secondary Dave Spaulding/Handgun Combatives Ernest Langdon Ron Avery Trigger Time TV John "Shrek" McPhee/Sherrif of Bagdad Aaron Bareuga/Guerilla Approach William Petty/Centrifuge Training Travis Haley Pat MacNamara/TMACS Better than watching videos, go out there take some of their classes. NJ had had a lot of good trainers coming around lately.

Was just at Costco and they have an Eneloop kit on sale for $19.99 versus their regular price of $29.99. Kit comes with a charger and all is in a case and has 6 AA batteries, 4 AAA batteries and adapters: 4 C size and 4 D sizes. Similar to this one at Amazon that has 8 AA and 2 AAA cells for $32.49 Picture of case and example off what is offered https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00JHKSLSW/ref=dp_cerb_1

Depends on how you look at it. The "miners" do get paid for finding (for lack of better non technical word) "new bitcoins". That "finders fee" gradually decreases over time while the difficulty of finding "coins" increases. Could be a good thing, because that translates into increase "cost", hence "value" of currency, just like in physical world. There is secondary reward system in terms of "transaction fees" a.k.a verification. I am not doubting if cryptocurrency will be the future. Neither there is doubt about practical use in refugee situation. But buyers beware of security of original bitcoin and litter of copy cats being dumped into the market. No one knows how secure they are until they fail. Same could be said of traditional "money". Risk does correlated to reward.

Anybody who says “i don’t see the need” has never lived in a country where the banking system has been shut down. Has never had to flee a country with only the shirt on their back. (This does not mean drug dealers it can be any refugee situation) They probably don’t travel much outside the US. Bitcoin was not created for anybody reading this forum. It was for the entire rest of the world that is seeking a decentralized currency system. It’s not about anonymity or speed and ease of moving money. It’s about not needing permission to do anything you want with your money. It will not replace FIAT. It will be in addition to. The people of the world want it. And it’s coming. Be in denial or not. It’s about choice. “But what if it goes down 50%?” There are huge populous that are okay with the CHANCE of 50% down to guard against “no, you cannot have your money now”. Miners are not mining for bitcoin. They are maintaining the Blockchain. Making the Blockchain is not hard. It’s easy. But it needs multiple “nodes” to agree on the output for a decentralized system to work. To just keep one super computer from doing all the work an extremely complex algorithmic Riddle is disbursed. Whoever solves the riddle first is compensated with bitcoin. Think of it as “my job is to maintain the Blockchain. And I get paid for it” this is my attempt to tell you guys why this thing is the monster that is destiny. (I’m not saying it won’t go down 75% on a glitch. I’m just telling you it’s bigger than you think). Is this thing called bitcoin the winner? I dunno but a decentralized transactional currency system is here to stay. And bitcoin is first out the gate. I’ll go back to bad videos now. Thank you for reading.

LOL, yes it's PA. When I looked on their store map I mistook the big green dot in NJ as the nearest store location. It wasn't. It was my house location with a route to Hamburg PA. I didn't bother to read the address. More coffee please.
  11. 2 points
Pretty sure that's the Hamburg, PA store you're referring to...? Their website doesn't list a NJ store. Not sure why they would charge tax to the OP...? Perhaps a mistake. But, hmmm... didn't they merge with another chain? Maybe it has something to do with that - if they have "affiliated/sister" stores in NJ? Just a guess.

I admit (again) that I have been living under the rock. So went ahead and did quick read. Looks like lot of similarities to "Gold". Its a computational algorithm that need to be solved (mined) to discover keys (gold nuggets). The other side of algorithm has mechanism to check validity of the key (check chemical composition of gold piece). Just like gold (and many other forms that depend on supply / demand), the algorithm is increasingly complex to solve and needs physical resources (computers, CPU cycles, electricity, time etc) contributing to the increasing cost. The more keys people discover (mine), more complex the task of finding next key. In that sense, its similar to gold mining. As physical resources required to mine more keys continue to rise, costs go up, supply is constrained and perceived "value" goes up. But that would only be the case if the algorithm holds and mining costs continue to go up and supply is constrained. What would happen if a volcano erupts and dump gazillion tons of gold onto surface ? We all will be sh*ting on gold toilets. Same holds true for Bitcon. If the algorithm breaks, cracked or math behind it unleashes large number of keys, it will come down crashing. Assuming the algorithm holds, I can see @Barms estimates coming to life. Unfortunately (as far as I have read) there is no way to tell for sure how strong it is. Its secure until it breaks. Its a game and value persists as long as supply is constrained and enough people willing to play the game. Additional challenge is, litter of competing algorithms hitting market. Some failing (cracked, weak math etc) and taking shirts behind backs and others diluting the market and causing further confusion around value, exchange rates etc.

As I said earlier... they would not even NEED a law like this if it weren't for the shenanigans already pulled by states like NY and NJ. The legislators here are NUTS. All these other states where people have concealed carry... the statistics are clear. They aren't the wild west. People are not running around shooting their neighbors. Credible researchers have been entirely unable to show that concealed carry causes crime - because it doesn't. I'm a logical person - I go where the facts lead me. My conclusion is... our legislators are not really concerned about crime... they never were... for them, it's about control. Pure and simple. After digging into these issues for almost 2 years now, I'm totally convinced of this.

This story is self-explanatory. If this stands a legal challenge, there could be real problems in the homeland. Pot and firearms don't mix legally at the Federal level. I presume the confiscation could be extended to any users of marijuana, not just medically approved ones.
  20. 1 point
I think the correct course for this to take is the way it has always worked when state law is in conflict with federal law. There are three options as I see them; the feds take the states that legalized pot to federal court. If the feds win, pot is illegal everywhere and the gun thing is no longer an issue. If the states win, the feds have to allow it so therefore it is no longer illegal and the gun thing is no longer an issue. The states take the feds to courts, see option 1, results are the same. The people take the states to court for suspending a right for an illegal action that is obstesibly legal in that locale. This is where it is messy. It would need to go to state court first but might end up in option 1 or 2 depending on the results and drag on for years. This is the option these blue states really want to happen. JMHO -Jim

Your way of thinking would be fine if we were a true democracy. We are a Representative Republic which allows for those with wealth to be in control and other manipulations of the system. When they push too far and the courts don't provide the checks and balances needed our forefathers installed a failsafe that being the 2nd Amendment and revolution. If the path someone chooses is to be a jackboot thug that is their choice. However if Revolution were to ever happen I personally would rather be on the side of American Patriots. The British Red Coats were just enforcing laws too.

Got pretty much done with it... shy of two things. Not really visible is the stainless follower and Volquartsen extractor. Got two of the Magpul hand stop kits to create that one, put a rail on the forend (for a TLR-1; fits great with the hand inside the stops), and a TacStar sidesaddle (I like them a little better than the other options out there). The next thing I’m doing is probably sending the barrel out to Rose Action Sports, and have it threaded for Remington chokes. Might have him polish the chamber, as well. Second thing will be plating the entire gun. Have a request to CCR to see if they can do it, but Robar will be the second option (they are expensive). Was thinking about having the dimples removed and adding a +1 extension... but to be honest, I rather keep the standard setup.

Our friends at 9th Circuit already set the president. Love the way those guys reasoned. ------------------------------ Many state laws allow patients to medicate with cannabis, but the federal prohibition on cannabis consumption crosses that legality when it comes to firearms. The supremacy of federal law on this point was upheld last year by the 9th US Circuit Court of Appeals. “It may be argued that medical marijuana users are less likely to commit violent crimes, as they often suffer from debilitating illnesses, for which marijuana may be an effective palliative,” the federal ruling stated. “But those hypotheses are not sufficient to overcome Congress’s reasonable conclusion that the use of such drugs raises the risk of irrational or unpredictable behavior with which gun use should not be associated.”

Because they're not the same, different styles. Carolinas favor pork while Texas is all about beef. You'll find 3 different sauces in SC: vinegar based near the NC border, mustard based in a central swath running NW to SE, and sweet tomato near GA. Texas tends to be less about the sauce and while it's tomato based it's also thinner and not sweet.

I like your volcano eruption. Its a good way of looking at the value of anything. I'm not sure I see the need for bitcoin. If I want to be anonymous I can currently pay with cash. But it seems like the latest craze. Some people will make lots of money and others will lose money. Reminds me of Dutch Tulips.

Three problems with bitcoin, in my opinion: (1) Governments want to be the only ones creating currency. Since bitcoin is created without a central authority, they haven't been able to stop it...yet. As soon as they figure out how to break it, they will. I'm sure they're already working on it. (2) Buy low and sell high. I'm not buying now. (3) I can't think of any world event that has caused the value of bitcoin to go up 10X in the last year. That means the increase in price has been created only in people's minds. That's a fragile thing. I know the bitcoin believers will have reasons that bitcoin has increased so much. If so, please share your math that demonstrates the cause. No math, no reason.

Of course they will do this! You nailed it. If this passes, "tooth and nail" they will fight - ironically, all while passing legislation that softens plea bargaining, reduces bail and otherwise puts the career criminals most likely to commit crime back on the streets. The sheer stupidly is mind-boggling. But that's why, Stage 2: The Lawsuits will be so important. It's also why the appointment of Gorsuch and ongoing appointments to the Federal appeals and other courts (and perhaps another SCOTUS app't or two) will become so very critical! For those of us (like me!) who pinched our noses and voted for Trump based primarily on his ability to shape the courts and cut down on judicial activism, this will feel like "winning". (I certainly haven't felt anything at all like "winning" seeing some of the legislative flops as of late - or - when reading his god-awful, unrestrained, cringe-worthy Tweets, that's for damn sure! Sheesh.).

Know a lot of people who were very nearly hundred millionaires but we're too afraid to actually go in. The ship has maybe sailed on it now. Bitcoin is hard for most to really understand. From what research I've done, the value is in purchasing illegal guns, illegal drugs, and child pornography. If you find anyone who seems to know a lot about Bitcoin then be wary as they are very likely to be in one of those 3 markets.

Here is the proper way to read this to clear up any confusion. In the above bill, commas are ‘ands’. To qualify to carry in NJ, as a NJ resident, you must meet all of the reqirements written that are seperated by commas and the final “and” at the end of the sentence. A comma is never used to describe the last of multiple items. “and” is used. NJ residents should not care what is written after the “or”, it means nothing and does not apply to NJ residents.

I truly believe we're not giving anything away... we all know our anti-2A-obsessed legislators will fight tooth and nail and this will all ultimately be battled in the court system anyway. Honestly? I'd make a push to personally get some extra freelance gigs to devote some of my meagre earnings to the 2A org bringing the most viable lawsuits. It's time, people. It's overdue.
  46. 1 point
THIS. EVEN IF I cannot carry as NJ resident, I WANT every tom, dick and harry from others states to carry here. I then would challenge NJ ridiculous restrictions on its own Citizens. Its a WIN-WIN no matter. But first, lets try to get it passed through and through.

"Oh but there's something else going on" Of course there is something else going on. There always is. That isn't the damn point. The point is whether or not a mother, a woman, can or cannot carry a handgun for self defense. And whether or not she should be arrested and imprisoned and her life ruined, for no violent crime based on a phone call by someone who simply hates her. You can do a lot of illegal stuff and no one will ever find out. People do all sorts of illegal stuff, and no one ever finds out, until "something else goes on" - it's called "life" and something else is always going to go on. This sort of logic is the #1 cause we're sitting here today playing internet lawyer on a message board over barrel threads, stock pins, and counting how many rounds Papa Murphy will let you buy online (the answer is 0)

Why would the police search the vehicle? Why did the husband call the police after he took the kids? Did she threaten him or something? Did the police ask "do you have any weapons?". It seems like this is being sold to us as NYC overreach, which it is, but that there's something else going on.

I have raised this point before...flood the judges with requests...a denial, seriously? getting a denial in NJ? Everyone know the impossibilities. Getting denied for another P2P in our own state because you were denied a CCW? You pass the mental health check, the criminal background check, it's left to the local PD to issue the P2P, he already knows why you didn't get the CCW permit. If any one ever asks why you were denied, tell them the truth, your life and the safety of your family has no value in NJ. NJ prefers to keep everyone a victim! I'm sure they'll understand...LOL.
