Why would you want an open mic recording device in your home?

The problem is that the last person you want to take any firearms advice from is a cop with few exceptions. high exposure, I believe, is one of those exceptions. I've not seen a single instance where I'd disagree with view, opinion or assessment on an outright basis. Imho

The food was great and it was a great way for the community to see that we're not Gun Nuts but rather just regular people who happen to enjoy guns.

This guy gets it. All this shit was already discussed when it happened like a year ago on this very forum. By the time everyone typed all that they could have called 5 times. Just call and if you feel proud post about it, no need to pick her apart or judge, all NJ gun laws are unconstitutional.

Why are so many people busting Smokin .50 chops. Seems to me he is the only one who comes on the forum from any 2A group. Is the only group talking about lawsuits that aren't crazy. Hosts shooting and teaching events. Hasn't pissed off all the other 2A groups. Isn't against us having CCW and other 2A rights. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Take it as you like. That’s on you. I have knowledge, experience, and training opportunities concerning the shooting of AR pattern rifles over the last 15 years that doesn’t mirror most folks. That includes regularly shooting in armor and kit and training others to do the same - I teach both techniques. I was merely stating that believing that a high knee prone position is an outdated technique is shortsighted. The high leg didn’t evolve into flat iso. Flat iso has always existed. Look at pictures as far back as WWI, (maybe even further but I only did a quick google search) you will see soldiers in a flat iso position. I have never once said any way was THE way to do anything - shit, I shoot flat iso when out of kit. I shoot flat iso sometimes in kit. My whole point in my statement regarding high knee was there was more than one way to do something. The situation will dictate. Everyone’s frame of reference is different - many people forget that. I believe I said everyone’s needs and capabilities are different - I just went back and checked - yup, that is in fact what I said. That statement stands true. Sometimes flat iso is right, sometimes high knee is called for. As such, a high knee shooting position is still taught for a lot of applications and is most certainly not outdated. Oh, and I don’t need to be leery of anyone I have trained with - their pedigree is unapproachable. Looking back over the last few responses, out of the two of us, your statements were more towards the “final word” spectrum of the discussion.

RFIDs and total Government intervention and control in their lives. Security instead of Freedom. All this shit is mass social engineering! Big Government's wet dream! Wish somebody would bitch slap Zuckerberg

Don't need something listening / recording 24/7 in my home..even though I think the smart phones already do. Does anybody really know what these things do or don't do? We're getting where tech is running more and more of our lives, can't even imagine what my kids will have in 20-30 years.

No! All that means That a big part of the reason for Jesus Christ's life was to die! He did not want that interfered with. The purpose of his death was as a final sacrifice to God (His own Son) so that mankind's sins could be forgiven and our very existence could continue! I don't think the scripture tells us to be willing victims!

if he wasn't famous, he'd have been arrested for "firing in their general direction", 'cause if he didn't have to shoot AT them, then he shouldn't have been shooting

This is an interesting case with a well-known person involved. (Not a NASCAR fan at all, but even I knew the name Richard Childress). https://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/motorsports/nascar-team-owner-richard-childress-fires-shots-at-intruders-who-broke-into-his-home/ar-BBH60fi?li=BBmkt5R&ocid=spartandhp 2 questions come to mind: - how unlucky or stupid do you have to be to break into the house of an NRA board member? Whoopsy! - how damn lucky is this NRA board member that he's still alive? (I ask that because they were apparently multiple armed intruders, but the article makes it sound like Childress shot in their "general direction" but not "at them". Color me confused! Doesn't that seem awfully unwise? Nonetheless, the bad guys fled the scene, he and his wife are OK. A happy ending.

It is a shame that a US citizen even has to worry about traveling with a tool into states like NJ and getting arrested for merely possessing. Here in VA a non-CCW gun owner can ride with their loaded gun loaded on them in the car (on person, in glovebox, on seat, etc) and it is not a crime. We also have Constitutional Open Carry. I live out in the sticks so I see open carry a lot.

I called too. I agree, less typing more calling is always a good thing. But for what it's worth, for people like me (at 2 years in, I still feel pretty "new"), I actually like hearing the specific reasons why someone got hung up legally, because it helps me understand the laws better. Let's face it, some of these laws make no damn sense - it's not like they're logical - in fact, it sometimes seems like all the holes in the laws were designed to confuse citizens, trip them up and land them in a cell.

I made a call. I see no reason to found out "the rest of the story". I will support any gun owner caught up by BS NJ gun laws. It only took 15 seconds to make the call.

You're quite welcome. FWIW the stopping with a hollow point while transiting between houses & admitting same to the State Trooper might have made their case? It goes back to Aitken's case where he was "moving" between 2 Jersey residences. Well, there isn't a written exemption for THAT! Believe it or not, as a NJ resident and hollow point user, I need to stop at a range (it can be a closed, commercial range at Zero Dark Thirty OR a private club w/ 24/7/365 access), jump-out & take a pic of my car with my phone so the meta data is recorded. Then I can drive to residence #2 (or #13 if I'm a Zillionaire). HP rounds can only be transported directly to & from an exempt location which includes house to range & back again. So transiting between residences with HP isn't allowed. When you move, you have to shoot them thru a gun at a range, mail them to yourself at the new residence address, OR visit a RANGE & then drive directly to the new residence. Even Lou Nappen is still scratchin' his head on THAT one! A non-resident has to travel under FOPA, which calls for all ammo to be secure & out of the passenger compartment (yes I know about SUV's & Pick-Ups too). So, IMHO, no matter how ya slice this sh!t sandwich, she comes up on the short end of the stick! A technical violation... FWIW somewhere in this thread someone wrote that PA residents can't bring hand guns to NJ. That is completely mistaken, as sanctioned pistol matches on club calendars are specifically exempted and thus allow out of state residents to participate. It gets a little gray when everyone goes to the burger joint afterwards, but most would consider it a "reasonable deviation".

Nah, don’t do that. He wants to throw my info out there - whatevs. I can tell you that I am not a huge fan of it - he could have handled that much differently, but still gotten his intended point across - but it is what it is. I’ve been here for a while and the people here that know me? Well... they know me. He doesn’t have to prove himself and I’m not going to throw his info out there - I don’t think I even know him, but I might. He can take my posts as he likes, just like everyone else here.

After the wait permits are finally in. I want to pick up a sub compact .380 semi and then a .357 revolver so far this is what I’m thinking I haven’t shot any of them and would love feedback from any who have .380: Kahr CW380 for the ultimate in pocket size fun or a G42 for something a little more shootable. This is just a range toy since there’s no way to carry here. I love the idea of something as tiny as the Kahr(and like that it’s a little more unique), but maybe the Glock is more customizable and pleasant to shoot? .357: this is just because a big honking .357 is cool and I’ve never owned or shot a revolver I’ve narrowed it down to the Smith 686 really digging the new Performance Center models though they’re probably overkill for a 3-4time a year range visit, maybe something more like the SSR but who knows love the hear thoughts, thanks!!

After speaking to Mark Cheeseman yesterday about this subject, I asked him to contact Meg's lawyer to "fill-in the blanks". He knows the lawyer since the same lawyer did some work for Mark. Without pointing fingers, someone dropped the ball on this! The lawyer was promised coverage that never happened. So it fell-off EVERYBODY's radar screen! I was able to find-out that the round rolling-around on the back seat floor was a hollow point, and her LOADED hand gun was "SECURED" in the vehicle's trunk. Yes she had a PA "LTCF" like Shaneen Allen, however Meg's was up for renewal and inside the "grace period" prior to formal expiration. At the time of the Stop, the date on her LTCF had come & gone. The NJ Judge saw it as EXPIRED! Neither the County Prosecutor or the Judge saw fit to offer PTI, even after the Shaneen Allen case yielded a 23 page document from the then AG Hoffman that recommended same! Mark & I discussed other details about the case that he asked I not reveal. These minute details don't "change the flavor" of this SHIT SHOW or affect the outcome OR OUR 2A COMMUNITY RESPONSE in ANY way! Please take a minute to make a phone call & thanks from Mark & myself! Here's Mark's Facebook story I ran yesterday: IT'S TIME TO HELP MEG! CALL GOV. CHRISTIE'S OFFICE! Black Wire Media story by Mark Cheeseman December 20, 2017 http://www.cnjfo.com The clock is ticking fast on this one. Our new Governor gets sworn-in a few short weeks from now! Meg's story is real. It fell off the radar screen (we're not pointing blame here). She pleaded-out to a year in jail while looking at 10. All because of a hollow point bullet rolling around on the backseat floor of her car. A tragic case of INJUSTICE! Yet another Pennsylvania woman with a PA CCW license getting jammed-up by NJ's overbearing & overreaching gun laws! Please call the Governor's Office and ask for a full pardon for Meg Fellenbaum: 609-292-6000. Link to original story here: see Mrs. Peel's link to ammoland story! Thanks for reading! Rosey, VP CNJFO

The 3 gun rig, I don't even want to think about how much money is sitting there. Just about every part on here is from a company that sponsors 3 gun matches and alot of the parts came from the prize table. Gun has absolutely zero felt recoil.

I like your volcano eruption. Its a good way of looking at the value of anything. I'm not sure I see the need for bitcoin. If I want to be anonymous I can currently pay with cash. But it seems like the latest craze. Some people will make lots of money and others will lose money. Reminds me of Dutch Tulips.

Three problems with bitcoin, in my opinion: (1) Governments want to be the only ones creating currency. Since bitcoin is created without a central authority, they haven't been able to stop it...yet. As soon as they figure out how to break it, they will. I'm sure they're already working on it. (2) Buy low and sell high. I'm not buying now. (3) I can't think of any world event that has caused the value of bitcoin to go up 10X in the last year. That means the increase in price has been created only in people's minds. That's a fragile thing. I know the bitcoin believers will have reasons that bitcoin has increased so much. If so, please share your math that demonstrates the cause. No math, no reason.

I guess I'm old school, as back up iron sights or folding sights are becoming non existent on defensive rifles. But, batteries fail, circuitry burns out, mounts break, shit happens. Hence why irons are staying on my defensive rifles.

Watch your breathing. Vertical stringing like you have on your target is usually due to breathing. Inhale, exhale 1/2 way, hold it, align sights, shoot. With military sights I'd give that 4 clicks to the right at 25. Military sights move the strike of a round 1" @ 100. Do all this and you'll get all rounds in the 2" red square. Move the target out to 50 until you get them all in the red square then 100. Take your time. Speed will come. Do yourself a favor and learn to shoot with the iron sights before you put on a red dot. Red dots are great, easy to acquire, and very helpful. But learn iron sights first. HE is right. Cowitness the front sight with the red dot. I think it makes acquisition faster.
