Way to endear yourself to forum members. While guns may be a big part of our lives, for most of us they aren't our whole lives. Considerations of our employment and spousal employment have to be considered. Quality of school systems and quality of life as regards to other interests all go into the decision of where to live. There are states that have less stringent laws and lower cost of living than PA, why aren't you living there? Adios, Pizza Bob

@gleninjersey I agree with you there. What I was saying is that to an outsider or politician, on the state or national level, it looks like we have tiny numbers who are willing to do something. Tiny numbers means they do not have to worry about us. Tiny numbers are not a threat to them. Turning people needs to be a huge push. Every one of us needs to try to bring new shooters out to introduce them to shooting. Answer their questions honestly. Start them small (don't hand a newbie a 12ga or a .44mag for their first ever shot). Ask them about something they have a lot of knowledge about, then ask how well the media accurately covers that subject, and then explain how the media covers guns. Don't get too much into politics or subjects they might get defensive about and shut down. Make it a fun day. Take pictures for facebook for em. That grin we all got after our first shot-that is how you turn people. We need numbers. There are 300+ million guns in this country. 295 million of em belong to bluelinefish, but that's beside the point. We need to show that we are not some small fringe group, but a large portion of the population, and that our ranks are growing. If the hundreds of us who are active on this forum bring 1 newbie out, and 50 of those people get their FID, and 5 of those people become serious about our rights, that is hundreds more educated people, bigger numbers for gun owners, and more fighters for our rights.

You don’t need a carry permit anywhere for FOPA protection. Transporting firearms from one residence to another has nothing to do with carry, moreover if you aren’t retired law enforcement you aren’t get a NJ carry permit. However, be mindful when crossing through Maryland they claim ignorance quite often of federal law. Make sure you follow the storage requirements to be protected.

THANKS EVERYONE FOR ALL OF YOUR HARD WORK FOR THE SECOND AMENDMENT! I just finished a story for the CNJFO Facebook page. It highlights our volunteers & members that responded to the klaxon and gives our rank & file membership news on FOUR simultaneous 2A events that were held yesterday: COALITION WEEKEND UPDATE STORY IN PICTURES! CNJFO IS NJ's BUSIEST SECOND AMENDMENT GROUP! by Black Wire Media Sunday April 15, 2018 www.cnjfo.com Yesterday tasked the Coalition and its' volunteers as three different venues where 2A news was breaking were covered simultaneously by members of our Executive Committee and a fourth was attended by multiple members that answered a plea for mutual aid help from the Hudson Valley Friends of NRA Dinner held at the Pearl River Hilton in Rockland Co., NY! Shows & Community Outreach Committee Chair William Korman attended the Brian Aitken Pardoning Party at RTSP Range with sponsor & member Dan Ingram. Committee members Alex Gubenko & Nick Wong were assisted by member Jon MacMillan & others at the NCCPA-NJ 2A Rally at the Trenton War Memorial & march to the State House. Scott Bach, Executive Director of the Association of New Jersey Rifle & Pistol Clubs (ANJRPC) attended the Summit to represent the best interests of New Jersey's one million gun owners. Bach was joined by CNJFO Vice President David Rosenthal & wife Lori, and together with CNJFO Program Facilitator Nora Craig, the four participated in the first-ever NJGOP Leadership Summit, held at Harrah's Hotel in Atlantic City, NJ. Making sure to thank all of our pro-2nd Amendment State Senators & Assemblypersons for their continued steadfast support even when faced with overwhelming pressure from Gov. Murphy, Bach, Craig and the Rosenthal's spoke with dozens of the NJ Legislature including Assemblywoman Serena DiMaso, a member of the Law & Public Safety Committee. Mrs. DiMaso was a featured panelist on a "Women in Government" panel held during the day-long event. Cocktails and Dinner ensured even more 2nd Amendment work getting done, with Nora Craig calling on Senator Tom Kean for an organizational meeting to fight bad gun laws about to be signed. Coalition members Linda Doering, John Liguori and several others were joined by Gun For Hire Woodland Park Range owner Anthony Colandro and The 2nd is for Everyone's Tony Simon at the Hudson Valley Friends of NRA Dinner held in Pearl River, NY, just over the Jersey border in Rockland County. 500 attendees weren't scared away from a planned Anti-Gun Protest, and 200 additional Patriots were turned-away due to room size & fire code restrictions! Jersey 2A "was in-the-house" with several tables of Patriots! The Coalition is growing, and our volunteers are the driving force behind it. We are truly proud of all of you! If you'd like to become a member (don't have to LIVE here), we'd love to have you! Please visit: www.cnjfo.com/join-us or consider making a tax-deductible gift. Thanks from all of us! Nick, I can't get the last two pix to print for me, so can you help with an edit? Simon & Ligouri and Colandro in the street by the protesters. Thanks!

Just posted below to our "friend" Sentaor Loretta Weinberg on her FB page. Have sent t friend request to Senator Linda Greenstein to inquire the same with her. I think everyone else should question the logic and pettiness of such legislation. I have question about your recently proposed NJ Sentate bill that "Prohibits State-sponsored travel to states lacking permit to purchase firearms laws" Would this restriction apply to instances of neighboring state, such as PA, being the vicitim of a terror attack that needs assistance from NJ? Such as from the NJ Task Force One Urban Search and Rescue team or other NJ State funded rescue teams? Would we really deny help to other US citizens based on how that State chooses to govern itself? How would NJ citizens in need of assistance feel if "pro" 2nd Amendment States refused to come to the aid of NJ, as they have in the past to help restore power after major storms, or in the even of a future terror attack? New Jersey is in the minortiy when it comes to it's firearm laws in regards to the rest of the nation. Is it really a good idea to put ourselves at a disadvantage if we were to ever require the assistance of neighboring states? To say nothing of the negative goodwill it generates between other State's whose citizens flock to the NJ Shores every summer? I would expect better from our leaders.

Please, though I appreciate the thought... that's so far off-base that I have to step in and correct that. Sheesh! I'm no where even close to the same category as people like Cheesman -- and Bach, Rosey, Colandro, Sandy/SAW, etc. --- and our finest Mod Krdshrk who was there yesterday representing CNJFO, despite not feeling well earlier in the day --- those are some of the people who ALWAYS show up and have spent countless hours fighting for this stuff. And some of you feisty individuals who always reliably give a "call to arms" - like yourself, Zeke, Scorpio64, RayRay, etc. --- too many to name! I admire your pluck and give full credit where credit is due. And yes, though I have often been dismayed with Roubian's divisive ways and will continue to ding him pretty hard on that aspect of his personality, nonetheless, I also give him credit for hours invested in this cause, too. I will agree though, that in terms of attitude this is a "journey". For me personally, as I learned more of the facts, I could see my own attitude shift quite dramatically over time. How can you have a brain and not see the collusion happening here? Wholesale misinformation is put out by the anti-gun side... and worse yet, it's accepted as "fact" by the media - with NO fact-checking. It's pretty appalling. At first I naively thought, "well, maybe they just don't KNOW the facts...? Maybe they haven't seen the crime studies?" Now, I know better... and I realize that they simply don't give a damn about the truth! It's difficult not to get astounded (and seriously ticked off) at the level of lying (and media complicity) going on in this current anti-gun campaign.

I felt like I had to go as well. I couldn't make it to the last one, so I was feeling kind of guilty, relying on others to carry water for me. But I know we all have our own situations and priorities, so I don't begrudge anyone who didn't make it. I was a little disappointed with the turnout, but as others have noted, the actual number of people to show up is relatively unimportant. if we had 250, as reported in the news article (a generous estimate, I believe), or 1000, I don't think it would have made any difference. There was no way we were getting the thousands that showed up for the Parkland brats. Our great strength in the past as gun rights advocates is that we have more at stake than the other side, and we are more likely to be one issue voters, even if we suffer from a large degree of apathy. Fortunately for us, after every tragedy, the uproar for legislators to "do something" quickly subsides. I couldn't find a single opinion piece or letter in The Bergen Record yesterday on the subject. Of course, we have no way to know what will happen in November, but we can only hope that gun owners are just as motivated to come out and vote as is the other side, if not even more so.

What I am seeing here is a lot of frustration. We (and our constitution) are under attack and it seems like nobody, except a handful of people that the left will call "far right gun nuts", bothers to show up for something so incredibly important. Why is the silent majority so silent? we need to ask ourselves some serious questions about why people aren't showing up. First, the silent majority is chicken shit scared that they will loose their jobs and while they have all types of firearms, including AR15s, they are willing to give that up for economic security. Hey, boss, did you see that picture of Albert in the paper (website) at the crazy republican trump lov'n neo nazi rally that supports school shootings? Why, no, I didn't see it, isn't he the one on a prescription blood thinner because he's crazy? Why, I do believe you are right boss, you should fire him and tell the police he shouldn't have guns because he looked at Jane funny last week. That's how good people get chewed up and spat out by the liberal fucking machine in NJ. So people have adopted a routine of keeping their heads down, mouths shut and being a good citizen with perfectly manicured lawns that doesn't make trouble. So, the question is; how do we motivate that type of person to fight for their rights? how do we make them feel empowered enough that they will come out of the shadows and into the light? Well, for starters, we need to make them realize that they are being boiled alive, like the frog experiment, and that their ass is already in hot water. They need to understad that they have already lost a lot and what little is left will be gone if they don't stand up. Taking things little by little over a long period of time is how politicians take things from people. They have it down to a science (literally) about how much to take and how often to take it and when the time is right to exploit the sheep. They take just enough so that the people will only grumble, not so much that they will panic or come out in the tens of thousands in protest. Before you know it, the silent majority has been pacified and silenced for good.

What did the guy say that is inaccurate? Screw guns - NJ sucks in almost every way suckiness can exist. Only problem is PA won’t be far behind.

This is what the State is using to try to push neighboring states to change their laws. NJ and Murphy are blaming PA and other nearby states (as well as a few further away) for all of NJ's gun crime. Not realizing that it's not an inanimate object committing the crime, but NJ criminals.

Did you really just type that drivel? Not to fascist are we? For Pete's sake.... they had 75 people in nashville.... a joke. You have zero concept in how to fight this battle..... rallies are not effective for our side...... you cannot muster the forces to make an impact. You post...you whine....you stand in your ivory tower besmirching those that disagree with you..... you remind me of Lee at Gettysburg..... pushing the center when He could not gain the advantage and his generals advised against it....fools march. Sadly sir you are the one that needs to be censured..... for comments like that. This isn't your forum...as much as you think it is and want it to be. The free and open exchange of ideas...good and bad will continue. This battle needs to shift gears from rallies and civil disobedience....what a stupid statement..... to more effective and concentrated attacks where it can stick and count. The only injunctive relief you are going to get is in the courts and THAT IS WHERE THE BATTLE NEEDS TO BE FOUGHT. And If the time to really take up arms happens we truly are in a world of sh.t

I'm not going to comment on calling people out. I've done it myself when I was younger & didn't know better. With age comes wisdom. I learned something yesterday at the NJGOP Summit. I learned I was doing something right! Volunteers want their volunteering to be both rewarding and FUN! You want to call a meeting? Figure-out how to make it FUN, and if you can, supply food or charge for it. Food & FUN bring it all together. Someone here wanted to know where lunch was before the Rally, so kudos to them for trying to keep it FUN! Some folks (everyone that I & others from 2A spoke to) at the NJGOP Summit were very interested in the 2A Rally, and some even drove to Trenton to speak & then come back to the Summit. Grass Roots is where it's at. The politicians are paying attention. BE THE CHANGE YOU'RE LOOKING FOR. LIVE IT, DON'T HIDE IT & KEEP IT A SECRET! Teamwork & attacking this beast from all sides is what it's about!

I'll tell ya what will happen. 20% will turn in their guns/mags or register ie comply. The rest will do nothing, just like they did when NJ decided to keep the AWB. People don't realize how serious the situation is. If they classify a detachable mag and 1 more feature as mil features and tack it on to the awb, then the AR15 is done for because the only remaining feature is the pistol grip. Basically, they are eliminating the non military features to shove it down our throats. Pistil grips are not exclusive to the AR15 and if they extend the pistol grip ban, even if it is part of a one piece wood stock, then ALL semi autos are done for.

A couple of years ago, I purchased one of those metal Stack-On gun cabinets and quickly filled it to overflowing. It was hard to get to the guns that were behind the other guns and I recently reached the point where I couldn't get everything inside any more. I needed a second gun cabinet but didn't want to tie up any more floor space. So, I bought a second cabinet and stacked my Stack-Ons. They're bolted together, bolted to the floor, and bolted to the wall. I'm going to add a horizontal bar to the top cabinet tomorrow to make sure nothing falls out and hits me in the head. This is a 100+ year old farm house with very high ceilings or it wouldn't have been possible. The total height is 9' 2". I had 1/4" of space between the top cabinet and the ceiling. Having so little head room made it a challenge to hoist the top cabinet on top of the first. If the top cabinet was tilted even a few degrees, it wouldn't fit in the available space. So, it had to be lifted straight up and held absolutely plumb at chin height and then slid on top of the other cabinet. I probably could have done it on the first attempt 25 years ago but did manage to get it done on the third attempt. It did require more than the usual amount of grunting but not bad for an old guy.

I’ve heard that Zeke and others have done a great job bringing the folks from here together with the Shotgun Shootouts. I wonder if something like that could be expanded to bring out new or potential gun owners. Add in a hibachi and burgers. Let the guys plug the forum and once they’re in they’ll pick up the politics like the rest of us did.

Edit to add, if our strategy/approach cannot survive internal criticism or opinions how the hell will it survive the onslaught from the antis, the media, and our own government. We shouldn’t eat or own, by any means, but thst kind of thing builds defense, flexibility, and makes the overall effort stronger.
