Made my NJ escape and we arrived at our rental home around 4pm Sunday. Unpacked the cars and went to the local market for food. We got into the car to leave the market at 6:48pm when I felt a bang as the woman across the parking aisle slams into the rear of my car. Unlike NJ where she would have blamed me and called an ambulance claiming an injury she 100% admitted fault and was so upset. We kept telling her to relax it was just property damage and no one was hurt and she had not hit a person. My wife called police who showed up to take report in less than 10 minutes. Agreed she was at fault and wrote her $160 ticket for improper backing with three points. But she can take a two hour online course and wipe the points. Her insurance will ultimately pay for everything, but the repair place my insurance company suggests using which is huge here can’t do repairs for a month, oh well. Guess I’ll be driving an ugly car for a while. Met my new neighbor who is retired marine and real gun guy. Said I will have to come see his gun room. He was packing a G26 appendix carry in his shorts. He is also a firearms instructor part time and looking to build two ranges on land he owns. He can use some extra cash to get started so we are going to talk, maybe I’ll get into the range business. He shoots IDPA and loves both of my plates. Said he was going to take a picture, which he must have done while I was out. As I got home an old NJ friend who lives about 25 minutes away said I am the talk of the internet as everyone is talking about the new guy from NJ and his gun plates. I will like it here, except for the drivers.

Good news: the process works/is working and we're improving it as we work through dealer inventory. I think we've figured out how to avoid breaking the mag body too. Less-good news: We need more baseplates. Thankfully, Magpul does plan on releasing just baseplates for the M3 PMAGs (both AR15 and .308) as well as AK baseplates. They'll be sand colored but we'll Rit Dye them black in bulk. We will NOT be doing any other colors at this time as we are streamlining the process as much as possible to control costs. And now for cost. Base cost to work on an AR15 PMAG is going to be $8/mag which is about a third of the cost of buying a new mag. AKs and .308s will cost a little more than AR15 mags due to material cost differences. Ranger plates will be an available upgrade for all mags. We'll start accepting orders once baseplates are available.

Sorry for your fender bender, Howard. But, I think it's pretty cool that you've so quickly established your firearms "street cred" down there, LMAO!!! When you become a big, successful range owner - umm, we're all invited for a free weekend of shooting, riiiight?

Are you into competitive shooting? If so, Aaron is a great guy to train with. I've taken two classes with him. My first class, he was actually really sick but he showed up to teach us anyway. It was a group session so you can drag your buddies out. Even though it was a group session, he kept it small. My second session was actually to prep for my first big area match. His experience in these large matches was really helpful as I was better prepared for the match. Besides the fundamentals, Aaron is great with teaching you the rules of the game. These are the little things that you can do to save yourself a few seconds here and there. Sure, you can spend hours practicing and attempt to get better on your own. My preference was to get as good as I could as quickly as I could. The best part is that he is local in NJ so you do not have to drive 2+ hours. You just show up and shoot. He has everything setup for you in advance.

If the business signed a document allowing them to enforce Title 39 (in NJ) they can.

If this is on another thread or should be, sorry but it's the first case I've seen and found it quite by accident. I wish them good luck. At the very least it may get a stay on the mag. thing. https://bearingarms.com/tom-k/2018/06/15/group-sues-nj-new-gun-control-laws-ink-dry/

OK..... Everyone needs to chill out. And what I mean by that is how we interact with each-other on this board. Yes.... this week SUCKED for us as far as our rights.... The fight is not over... There are already many new members looking for guidance on these new laws. Be nice.... Be Patient, they could be your next range partner... There are many current members that are confused on these new laws. We need to work together to discuss the definition of what these laws are, and what our future holds, and how we can help fight them. But attacking and being rude to each other because the other person might have a different take on the issue will get us no where. So EVERYONE needs to relax and start being nice to their 2A neighbor ...... if we cannot stick together, we have zero chance to do anything positive. Don't make me and my mod staff have to move and moderate threads on this stuff.....

Yeah, he's a turncoat. Ran from NJ and only looks back to thumb his nose at us! Hey, I still have my first handgun I ever purchased, a Springfield Armory 1911, from Paul. While waiting for the NICS check I was outside his shop watching the carpenter bees drilling holes into his house. Bet ya he doesn't miss those phuckers! Or the NJ gun laws! LMAO!

Isn't murder already illegal? Didn't the shooter at the Parkland School have mags that were all 10 round capacity? At some point they have to realize that no matter how many laws they write, they will never be able to legislate the evil out of people.

Lol. You will be about 2 hours away from me. I'm in Bartlett in the Mt. Washington valley. I have not attended any classes there yet but I'd like to. If definatly be up to meeting up for a class or a range day. Same goes for you @Old Glock guy let me know next time your up this way.

I always assumed you were a Dreamer Howard. Now your AMERICAN dream may have come true. Great to hear, and best of luck down there. Stay in touch.

Congrats Howard, hope that's the worst thing that happens now that you've moved to America.

Hopefully your PODS will be on time. When my BIL moved down to Delray Beach the actual delivery date was a week later than the scheduled delivery date. He was pissed. But, the fine print in the contract let them get away with it. He was not finished up here with work so he had to return to NJ and then book a weekend R/T flight the next weekend so he could unload it. Glad to hear from you, that all is well, and good luck. I would love to move but too many strings attached for now.

Congrats Howard. Yeah, Florida drivers suck. It’s way worse than in NJ even in parking lots of Publix or Walmart. Just be super vigilante and don’t let road rage get the best of you. I’ve learned you gotta be a super defensive driver down here and keep calm in the face of countless a$$holes on the road.

matter of fact the pheasant hunters at clinton walk in brush downrange and tend to get rained on by pellets, Seen it many times and they don't seem to care,

Its limp wristing. Guaranteed. Not degreasing or anything else now he has a better idea of the recoil. Very common new shooter problem

Hi. I've trained with Aaron too and it was a great experience. What he lacks in email responsiveness (DVC is not his day job) he certainly makes up for in training ability and competitive shooting experience. As others have said he has a great eye at analysing your shooting skills and then offering constructive feedback on how you can approve. Training with him is a great investment if you are serious about competitive shooting. Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk

I definitely would recommend that anyone who is serious about competition shooting to train with DVC performance. Aaron always takes the time to explain new concepts and techniques. He doesn't rush through things. He makes sure that you have a solid foundation to build on. When I went his class, he corrected many bad habits, that I had picked up while shooting without guidance. These habits, even minute one that many of us don't really think about, can cost seconds on the timer. You want a instructor who can spot errors in your shooting stance, grip ,etc and correct them so you can be a better shooter . Aaron is definitely has the attention to detail you want in a shooting instructor. Since then, I've seen a noticeable improvement in my shooting ability. He also sent me home with various drills so that I can practice on my own.

If you want to a better competition shooter than you need to go to DVC and not a tactical shooting group. I have trained and shot many matches with Aaron. He knows the game and what it takes to excel. Not just the shooting portion, which he will get perfected for you, but the stuff that wins matches, stage break down, movement, where to save seconds, 1/2 seconds, tenths of seconds. This is what wins matches, this is what makes you a great match shooter. You want an instructor that knows this. Few do, but Aaron does and he will show you that on the shot timer.

Yes, I have trained with DVC Performance! Aaron is a highly competent instructor who is very patient and have a very positive and encouraging style of instruction. He can quickly identify issues with your form and technique and offer suggestions on how to correct those deficiencies so that you can quickly improve and perform at a higher level.

We are starting to get into to flash hider / brake arguments. If I buy a 10 round mag, listed as a 10 round mag, it’s a 10 round mag. but I’m currently not buying shit! Exclamation point

Thank you for trying to ask. I figured he wouldn't answer since he boasted to the papers how he was taking the case all the way to the Supreme Court after NJ Supreme Court reversed their decision to hear the case. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk I agree. This is still America and it is still innocent until proven guilty. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

First time handgun owner, are you also new to handgun shooting? Guns do funny things if they are limp wristed, usually FTE but anything is possible. If you're trying it again anyways ensure you have a firm and proper grip.

I have a VP9 and have put about 1500-2000 rounds through it, mostly Federal, Speer, 115 and 124 and never had a issue.

The older 96'er... +1 for Peter Luger for being the best. Also a fan of Quality Meats and Old Homestead. Wolfgang's is also good. I'm sad to say I haven't found a steakhouse in NJ as good as the NYC places. Sammy's in Mendham - Steaks are okay, love the shrimp scampi, the kitschy way of ordering, getting drinks and family style eating is cool. Steve's Sizzling Steaks - Steaks are okay. Food, wine and alcohol are decently priced. A great local joint to get a steak without the upscale stuffiness. Root's and Rod's Steakhouse (Summit/Madison/Morristown) - Approaching NYC prices, but not as good. Library II and River Palm Terrace - Pretty good. Can't rule out the Brazilian Rodizio (i.e. Fernandes) in Ironbound or surrounding area for a beef fix (Picanha FTW) As others said, Porterhouse for two at Luger's. Ribeye, medium rare otherwise (marbling = flavor). Creamed spinach, a potato of some sort, and mushrooms. Also, a nice Red wine. Done...

After all this reading about steak I headed over to Wolfgang's on 45th last night before heading home. Wonderful.
