No sir. I had everything on a buddy's boat when... tragically... Sorry, this is tough.. The boat got swamped... and all my firearms went overboard. It was a terrible event. I'm really broken up about it all.

what would the value be of 10+ round mags in NJ be for the purpose of establishing a market value, in case the state relents and is going to compensate owners for their property. I have 6 P-mags that I would like 100k a piece for, this way NJ can fund my move out of this shithole state. since the market decides the value lets start trading our mags , you buy mine for 600k and ill buy yours for 600k we will therefore establish a market value, ill get a receipt book from staples for proof.

Yes, as long as they qualify once per year (NY or NJ course), and carry Proof and ID. Yes. No. Yes, as long as they have written approval from their commanding officer. Sent from an undisclosed location via Tapatalk

I hope that isn't their only argument. It should be part of the as argument. I have not read through the the brief. If it is the only argument it reminds of the One Gun a Month failed injunction. There should also be the argument that they forced the citizens of NJ under the threat of incarceration, fines, and loss of 2A Rights everywhere to buy 15 round magazines at an inflated price. Then they changed the rules and are forcing the citizens of NJ to sell their 15 round magazines but since they are worthless in every other state and country for that matter they are really forcing the citizens of NJ to destroy or turn in their property without compensation. The magazines can not be further reduced to 10 rounds because that would be an admission of violation of the previous 15 round magazine limit that said they had to be permanent. Only factory 15 round magazines could possibly be converted to 10, but 15/30 could not without having been in violation of the law the way it is written. Which is another argument that should be part of the injunction. The law is void for vagueness.

#1 NJ no longer requires a retired LEO to get a permit if they only carry concealed. They only require a retired LEO who open carries as part of their job to obtain a permit. The NJ requirement for a retired LEO who is a NJ resident to obtain a permit was pretty much bs. They could carry under LEOSA as long as they met the requirements. Federal law trumps state law all the time. #3 The law exempts retired LEOs "authorized to carry a firearm in the state" from the 10 rd limit and can carry up to 15rd magazines. Says nothing about having to be a resident. They can be covered under LEOSA. Not sure what you mean about officers residing in NJ but not sworn in NJ. Every state, county, and local LE agency I know of requires at least state residency. If you're talking about Federal LEOs they can ignore state law and are only subject to the policies of their agency. @High Exposure responded to this while I was typing. That's because he's at least 60 years younger than me and types faster. I figured I'd finish my post.

I read it now. Why they didn't bring up the fact that 15 round magazines were forced upon us, then when everyone complied they forced a new lower limit on us, making our existing property unusable while at the same time there is no way to sell it for just compensation nor are we being offered compensation from the state while they are forcing us under threat to destroy or turn in our property. This could have been added to their brief. They also missed by not mentioning how at best the law should be void for vagueness because it allows for modifying previously permanently modified 15 round mags, but if someone were to do this they would be breaking the law because the modification needed to be and needs to be permanent. So at worst the law is an entrapment Lastly I do not like the asking to be able to load 10 rounds in 15 round mags as an optional injunctive relief because that kind of defeats their 2A violation argument. I am a retired NYPD cop and I have a NJ Carry Permit. I can also carry a gun in every state under the federal HR 218 law.

NO....The 15 round mags suck too! We here in the PRNJ have been brainwashed to adore our 15 rounders but life , liberty and the pursuit of happiness starts at 30 rounds and goes up from there!

You don't have to own or rent your residence, primary or secondary. Example? IANAL but I have straightened out a few lawyers in my time. Someone mentioned specific scenarios but that's what I'm going to use for an example. You live in a house owned by your parents or anyone else in Sussex County NJ or NY or DE or PA. You live there rent free (if your parents own it) or have a lease. You don't need a phony baloney lease if your parents own it. You dont need a lease in any case. That's where you live. Your drivers license is to that address, you vote there, pay your state income taxes there, have your car registered there etc, etc. However your parents have a house in Lavallete. They live there pretty much full time. You go there regularly. Not necessarily on Sunday and Monday for football. You have a bedroom there, keep your clothes, a toothbrush, and other personal items there. That is also your residence. Makes no difference that your parents let your sister's kid use your bedroom when you're not there. That is your second residence. Doesn't have to be for 180 days a years. It doesn't have to be any amount of days. It has to be where you regularly reside. As far as the concealed or open carry I see no problem with concealed carry on your parent's property in Lavallette. Although I believe in the right to open carry I don't think it's a good idea, even on your own property in NJ. It's only drawing attention where you are setting yourself up for uneeded scrutiny. Not quite the same thing but NJSP sent out a letter to all state certified LEO firearms instructors. It said if a retired LEO only carries concealed they don't need the state RPO permit if they qualify and meet the requirements of LEOSA. If they have a job requiring them to open carry they need the state RPO permit. In summary, if you stay there on a regular basis, keep clothes and other personal items there on a regular basis, it is a residence.

Peel, I'm thrilled that all you Ladies had such a wonderful time there Saturday! I thought that was YOU in one of the foursome photos that Lori from LVSC published to their Facebook page (which of course I see in my news feed)! You're right about the subsidized fees, as NRA picks-up part of what they would normally charge and NRA Board member Bill Bachenberg & his wife Air Force Reserve Lt. Col. Laura Bachenberg, Lehigh's owners, pick up the rest in support of NRA Women On Target. FYI on the Women On Target Program: Most don't know this, but WOT was modeled after Old Bridge Rifle & Pistol Club's "Ladies Day at the Range", run by OBR&PC Recording Secretary Anna Brunner. Old Bridge's Ladies Day has been around several years longer than Women On Target, and over the last 2 decades I've had the distinct pleasure of being a volunteer instructor for about 17 of those years. We'd love for you & Mrs. Zeke to join us on July 25th! Since our group runs the gambit from complete Noobs to Experts, we use the Green Course for beginners and the Experts mentor anyone requesting some help. Our goal is to raise funds to both "keep the doors open" and be able to run fundraisers like our ANJRPC matching funds program for the ongoing lawsuits required to challenge illegal & unconstitutional laws thru the courts. Our first such account has raised $2,500 (GOAL REACHED!) which the Coalition matched, so there's a cool FIVE GRAND going to help ANJRPC with their lawsuits! Sporting Clays is like Golf with a shotgun, and Lehigh is the premiere sporting clays facility within several hours' ride! So you've both been to the BEST course around! Your wonderful first-hand Newbie account of your time spent there is the stuff articles are made of, so can I use it as a piece on the CNJFO Facebook page & if so, what alias should I use for you? While you ponder THAT, here's a couple pix from our CNJFO event as well as Old Bridge Ladies Day (which YOU & Mrs. Zeke can attend next April!) and a photo of Bill & Laura Bachenberg. Once again Peel, thanks for the wonderful write-up and hope to see you soon (and that youth model 20 ga. gas-operated semi I have FITS you)!

"In the alternative, and at a minimum, Plaintiffs request that the Court enter an injunction that would allow individuals to lawfully retain magazines already in their possession without having to alter them, so long as they load them with at most 10 rounds of ammunition." Man, look at them, halfway surrendering and coming up with more arbitrary nonsense for the antis in the very court brief intended to fight them. This isn't how you argue.

I have no idea what is going on in your state nor at this point do I really care. But concerning the recent "Magazine Ban" Until this law gets square away...If any of you want me to hold your mags here in SC I will do so. Pack them up with your name on the box and I'll throw them on the side. If and when it gets squared away I'll send them back. Just saying. It'll cost ya the price of shipping both ways. Feel bad for you bastards!! OS

Sotomayor is a diabetic, which not in and of itself unusual among the fat, aging US population. However, she has required emergency calls to 911 on occasion, and that part is a little unusual. https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/courts_law/paramedics-treat-sotomayor-at-her-home-and-clear-her-to-go-to-work/2018/01/19/697ddf76-fd4a-11e7-ad8c-ecbb62019393_story.html?utm_term=.a8f714ee30ce She's probably not "as fit as a fiddle". More "as fit as a Hillary Clinton". As a diabetic, it could be difficult for her to purchase disability insurance because of her higher risk.

I'm sure the retired cops have follow whatever the laws are of the state they are in. The ones I work with can not carry hollow points. I will try to locate the info at work today so I can quote it. not even active LEO can have a banned weapon, from time to time you read story's of cops getting caught with such odious pieces of weapons of war.

Nuthin' in NJ gun laws say you can have only ONE residence. NJ residents can have more than one residence and store their NJ neutered guns at every residence. One or 100 residences. One or a 100 gunz. Law doesn't say: 1. Permanent residence 2. Voting residence 3. Residence tied to a DL 4. Shore house 5. Mountain retreat 6. Residence tied to work 7. Residence tied to medical benefits 8. First residence 9. You need to own or even rent the residence. If yer rich friend lets you flop there, and you bring yer toothbrush, it's a RESIDENCE! 10. How many days, weeks or months you need to sleep there, if at all! I've been preaching this for years now. Everyone has to stop thinking about themselves in a scenario and be specifically looking for permission to breathe air. Cause yer not gonna find it. They know ya breathe or they'd tax yer estate! Instead use the exemptions & exceptions provided to you. It's literally THAT simple!

Nappen is useless for gun owners. Everything he knows you can find out in a few hours. I used to know pretty much everything about NJ gun-laws when I applied for my ccw in NJ. Many didnt even know that to own a hand gun you MUST have a CCW, Only exceptions to the rule allowed you transportation, possession and so on. I dont know if the law has changed since I lost interest in NJ gun rights He wouldn't want a shall issue state. His bread and butter comes from people that make mistakes

On occasion, some of you wax poetic about investing in a range.. well, this property I came across already has an outdoor shooting range... oh, and a pool, amphitheater, dining hall, basketball court, tent sites, pole barn, a small house for the onsite caretaker and 10 maintained cabins (though they're probably not heated - it's a working summer camp). It's on 20+ acres in Upper Black Eddy - a very pretty area in Upper Bucks County. Just passing it along in case anyone here (and perhaps a handful of their friends) has 700k of "spare change" laying around. http://flosmerconish.idxbroker.com/idx/details/listing/a014/7148969/1735-NARROWS-HILL-ROAD-UPPER-BLACK-EDDY-PA-18972 Oh, and btw, if you end up buying it because you saw it here... I think I should get lifetime guest privileges at the range. Isn't that only fair?

Owning and buying firearms has nothing to do with taxes, time spent, etc. You can have 50 homes in every state. When you are in that state, you are a resident and can purchase and possess, and carry in most. A government issued document, such as a DL, Auto Registration, Voter ID, Tax Bill, Utility Bill, etc, can provide proof if needed.
  38. 1 point
I don’t think the law requires “residancy”. If the firearm is NJ legal you can possess it in your home. If you own a house in NJ it is your home while you are there.

It's an interesting idea. I wonder what the neighbors would do with REAL GUN FIRE from center fire platforms instead of single-shot bolt-action .22 LR plinkers (typical camp-style rifles)? Would that also be "grandfathered-in" as a "pre-existing, non-conforming use"? FWIW most BSA camps have 50' target ranges for .22LR prone shooting. But hey, we can all dream, right, lol? And folks would PAY ME to keep my clothes ON ~R

I agree! If you don't have the balls to keep a magazine, be prepared to surrender all of your guns. A line MUST be drawn in the sand as to how far we let this stupid state go in violating our 2nd Amendment rights. We have to make a stand so let's do it now!
