Obviously without extensive training putting a 15-round mag into a fully-semiauto firearm causes the user to spray bullets in random directions hap-hazardous. Equally obvious, only using 10-round mags completely cures this affliction.

What the fuck is Taylor Ham?
  4. 3 points
So the defense got some operator guy, to counter argue that inexperienced NJ citizens need extensive training in 15rd mags. Am I reading this correctly? That doesn't even make any sense. That to me clearly says if you are inexperienced, you're going to need 8-10 seconds to reload. And that because it takes 8-10 seconds to reload, we would some how need extensive training in large capacity magazines? uhm, I'm not a rocket scientist, but that's almost proves that you NEED high capacity magazines for self defense because a reload could take a very long time in a life threatening situation. Also, if what I am understanding is correct, why do civilians in 42/43 states that have standard mag (no) capacity require no extensive training. Someone want to clarify this please? Maybe my comprehension is at a 5th grade level.

Attended the Oaks Gun Show on 8/5 with a friend. He had some specific wants and I was just tagging along to see if anything "spoke" to me. We walked all the way through both rooms (this Oaks was advertised as being a 1000 table show). My friend's FitBit indicated we had walked almost 2.5 miles. Clear back in the corner of the first room was a small dealer with two handgun display cases. A quick perusal revealed a short-barreled revolver with ill-fitting grips. It appeared to be an N-frame S&W and when I asked to see it that assumption was borne out. A Model 25-14 which is chambered for .45 ACP. These had a 3" barrel, and a four-screw, square-butt frame. And the price tag was a bargain. I believe that it was overlooked by the previous day's crowd of shoppers because someone had fitted it with K/L-frame Smith target grips - which, while they will go on an N-frame look really bad. I didn't buy it right then because I wanted to do a little research before I "pulled the trigger." My research at home revealed that this was a Lew Horton Distributors special. In 2006 he had contracted for 500 total units - 250 in blue and 250 in nickel. The blue and nickel had unique serial number prefixes. These were made on what Smith calls their Classic frame - which just means the screw in the upper sideplate returns, making it a four-screw frame. Also it has striations on the front and back strap of the grip frame. I e-mailed the seller and told him that he could keep the grips and offered him $60 less than the asking price. He countered with a $10 increase and I couldn't figuratively reach my wallet fast enough. Ordered two sets of grips while I was waiting for the gun. Picked it up last night and installed the grips right at the dealer. So without further delay, here is number 63 of 250... The grips are Altamont bonded-ivory magnas with a BK grip adapter. The N-frames are taking over my safe. Adios, Pizza Bob

Welcome Walt - it's a salty bunch here, but as long as your skin isn't too thin you should find lots of help and good advice on navigating NJ's anti-gun environment. Consider joining one or more of the advocacy groups that are fighting for what's left of the RKBA here in NJ, perhaps either the ANJRPC - https://www.anjrpc.org/ (the "official" NRA-related org in NJ) Or CNJFO - https://www.cnjfo.com/

The proper name according to the manufacturer, Taylor Provisions of Trenton NJ, is John Taylor’s “Original Taylor Pork Roll.” If you are making the argument that it’s original name is appropriate, then it should be “Taylor’s Prepared Ham” not Taylor Ham. There is no such thing as Taylor Ham. It is a name created and endorsed by democrats. “On April 14, 2016, Assemblyman Tim Eustace (D) introduced an Act in the New Jersey State Legislature designating the Taylor Ham, egg, and cheese sandwich as the New Jersey State Sandwich and supplementing chapter 9A of Title 52 of the Revised Statutes. "An Act designating the Taylor Ham, egg, and cheese sandwich as the New Jersey State Sandwich and supplementing chapter 9A of Title 52 of the Revised Statutes."

You just haven't been on the planet long enough... ..." Pork Roll (regionally known as Taylor Ham)[1][2] is a pork-based processed meat originating and commonly available in New Jersey, New York, Delaware and parts of Pennsylvania and Maryland. It was developed in 1856 by John Taylor of Hamilton Square, New Jersey, and sold as "Taylor Ham".[3] Other producers entered the market, and subsequent food labeling regulations required Taylor to designate it as a "pork roll" alongside their competitors. Taylor originally called his product "Taylor's Prepared Ham", but was forced to change the name after it failed to meet the new legal definition of "ham" established by the Pure Food and Drug Act of 1906. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pork_roll

I didn't click the link and read all that stuff but it sounds like you guys are saying so I'm operator thinks he's better than us? Does anybody have this guy's email or phone number would like to challenge him to a 3 gun match. I have no training at all, ZERO, and I guarantee I will stomp him by at least 70 seconds.

I am writing this with absolute caution and care, so please don't think I am oblivious to the genuine and at times ultimate sacrifices that a [fortunately] fair few make in the line of duty, or the general toll that a life of military or law enforcement service takes on a person and their [presumed] family. But I must say: The incessant hero worship by the liberal political class (and the nominal "conservatives" too, though they never managed to conserve a thing) and that obligatory saccharine and hackneyed "Fank you fer yer cervix" nonsense must perish. It isn't sincere, it isn't warranted in most cases, and it is a pernicious lie. The thin blue line especially [and sadly] not even just because their state funded pensions depend on it, truly have believed the lie that was whispered to them and all too often [not all, of course, I've met a fair few excellent and grounded police officers] think themselves to be a class unto their own, better and more virtuous than the mere ungrateful civilian sheep that they think they are God-appointed to guard over, whether the ungrateful sheep like it or not. In other words: "F**k your rights, sheep, we are here to help you, how dare you not be more grateful to us?" So in that line, the testimony of a super duper mEgA l33t "Operator" means nothing when you are in favor of trodding on us, your family, friends, and neighbors, or maybe even the @$$holes you just caught driving 50 in a 25. You are not inherently special. You are not better. You are too, ultimately, one of us Before any LEOs, current or retired, or service members for that matter, incinerate me and flood me with "downboats" (as the kids say) and clamor for my immediate and permanent ban, don't misunderstand me. I don't dislike you in general, or on a personal basis, but the answer to the BLM and Antifa "f**k da police" line isn't the thin blue wall of silence and turning the blind eye to the obviously inept and megalomaniacal amongst you [and you know that they're there]. Indeed, that's who you should seek to be ridden of, for they besmirch all the good that you do! But remember this: You swore an oath, each and every one of you, and you are civilians too, granted [temporarily] certain powers necessary to protect the sheeple. Please don't tread on us or expect undue gratitude, but if you realize that your job at its best is a vocation (that's a calling, in the fullest meaning of the word) and that most do not have it, and those who do not need to be mindful of that singular fact, then we will get along handsomely and we, the sheep, will have your backs when the wolves turn on you. If my inane rambling makes no sense to you, dear brothers in blue [don't care if some of you are sisters, you're part of a brotherhood if you recognize it] and all who serve(d) in the five services of the armed forces, when you reflect on the worst day of your jobs, ponder this thought of selfless obligation: ' "Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?" And I said, "Here am I. Send me!" ' You go for us. Us, the sheep.

Just saw on the news Jacksonville FL has a buyback program going on that I can support. They are NOT buying back guns, rather they are offering residents 50 cent for each sign they turn in from public right of ways that advertise all sorts of crap like we buy houses or other such visual pollution. Now if only the socialist people’s republic of New Jermany could do that instead of the BS gun buybacks

Loved the video, brings you back to reality. Lost my dad 16 years ago, 1 day before my son was born, talk about mixed emotions. Was naming my son after my dad even before we knew he was sick, It was like a transfer of spirit, the way it happened. My mom still lives with me, will be 96 soon, has had demenita for about a year, slowly getting worse, at times drives me nuts, but every time she sees me, morning, night, afternoon and gives me a hug and kiss, and says she loves me, it's all worth it. As said above, Cherish them & the times together. She took care of me when things were rough, now it's my turn. Sorry it's so long.

Welcome! Since you already list Clinton WMA on your profile, do keep an eye on the "events" forum - on occasion, we have a Shotgun Shootout there. If you don't have a shotgun... there's always kind people willing to loan theirs. There's also an indoor event at RTSP on Route 10 coming up in October. You might want to sign up for that, too... any of these events present a nice way to put faces to screen names! [Oh, and if anyone asks you about the delicious spiced ham product developed in NJ... for the record, it's properly called Taylor Ham (not that other bastardized name). Remember this simple truth, and you'll do well here - with the people who matter anyway.]

Truly beautiful video Loved it I think we get so emotional is because we know they are the last of the greatest. My grandfather passed in 01. He was in WW2. My dad passed last year. Army reserves in the 60s. Not a day that goes by that I don't think of them. I get mad because my boys (13&10) no longer have a grandpop, a pappy, a poppop. CHERISH those moments. CHERISH them. You ain't getting them back. Nick

The law already has this figured out. There are different degrees of "murder", manslaughter, and involuntary manslaughter. The difference is in the premeditation and the intent of your actions.

If you murder someone, yes - you should face a murder charge. Very simple.

Yea, I used to put my screen name on the pictures... then said screw it. Fraud is definitely something I worry about. Some of my guns are pretty unique, and don’t want to see someone screwed over from my pictures... or worse, be accused of fraud. But the end of the day, scumbags are going to do scummy things.

I reference that study all the time when I'm discussing gun control with non-gun owners and they bring up the "concerns" of some in the medical community. I mean, how ironic it is that some in the medical community, including the CDC, have had a history of being obsessed about gun injuries and deaths - "if it saves just one life!!" - and yet at the same time they conveniently ignore the deaths that they themselves cause through medical errors? I mean, hell, if Johns Hopkins hadn't studied this issue, we might not even know the extent of the problem, because the CDC doesn't even TRACK medical errors (despite the fact that they cause many times more deaths than gun suicides and gun crimes combined!) It's just incredibly disingenuous if you ask me. If you were so concerned about saving lives, wouldn't you pay attention to the 3rd leading cause? Wouldn't you track it? study it? find ways to cut the number down? Medical errors DWARF gun deaths and they'll continue to do so... because doctors would rather not look at the issue.

If I had to guess the Defense has a call with the judge where Mr Stanton highlighted his extensive training experience and extolled the dangers of LCM in the hands of untrained shooters. Of course, LCM in the context of this specific case is 15-rounds. Something I’m sure Mr Stanton has little experience with when training LE coastguard and the military.

Same penalty for all deaths has to be one of the dumber ideas I have heard in awhile. Murder is Premeditated that would be the worst scenario. One planned it. Maybe multiple times. They are the greatest risk to society and thus should be removed from society. Some states separate murder 1 and 2. Serial Killers would be murder 1 anywhere. Manslaughter Killed someone but didn't plan it ahead of time. Still intended to kill them. Walked in caught your wife in bed and you killed the guy. Involuntary Manslaughter is situation at hand. Low level felony that results in death but didn't intend to kill. Punch someone in face and knock them and they die Involuntary Manslaughter is the charge. Moral of the story don't go around punching people for no reason, and if you knock someone out try and catch them so they don't hit the back of their head on the pavement. Reckless Homicide you did something stupid that most people would realize could result in the death of another. Drinking and driving and you kill someone. Negligent Homicide you did something stupid and it resulted in someones death. Fell asleep with a lit cigarette. Justifiable Homicide You were justified in killing the person. Self defense. Felony murder while committing a felony someone dies. Rob a store while escaping in the getaway car you run someone over. Felony murder usually same penalty as murder. Now why exactly should a serial killer and someone who accidentally burned down a house serve the same penalty? How does that serve society? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Yup. They sent me a brand new Gen 2 trigger to replace it. Then I asked if they would replace the 2 other Gen 1 Falx triggers I had, just in case the same issue occurred. No questions asked. 2 more Gen 2 Falx triggers arrived at my mailbox. Excellent CS. They let me keep the flat trigger for my inconvenience ($100 trigger) and asked me to return the other 2 Gen 1 Falx triggers when I received the new ones.

Interesting... indeed. Don't be hurt by what I'm about to say, because I'm delighted that you love your recipe... and yet, I do believe you are on a sad and confused culinary path! Despite the many "Polynesian" recipes out there trying to mislead us into thinking pineapple should muscle its way into our entrees, pineapple is still ideally a dessert or beverage ingredient. It does not belong in a meatloaf... or, perish the thought, obscenely dressing the surface of an otherwise perfectly good pizza. These uses are... simply wrong... blasphemous... and worthy of some healthy peanut gallery criticism. Let the flaming continue...

Beware of the human need to always figure out who's fault something is. I have heard lots of people say "somebody needs to be held accountable!". That's not always true. Sometimes accidents are just accidents and nobody is accountable.

Another good reason to never get into a fight. One should avoid anti-social confrontations at all costs, but should be prepared to defend oneself with ruthless violence if faced with the threat of death or serious bodily harm.

No. Example 1. Cautiously driving down road sober at speed limit. Kid jumps out from between cars. You hit and kill him. Example 2. Loony toon walks down street. Finds first kid he sees and beats kid to death. Are they the same? Dead is dead. Intent has MAJOR impact. One is an horrible accident, one is premeditated murder.
